Having experienced a few of these in the wild, I can confirm they are amazing. Built solid, slim in profile with gorgeous dials. So why do you think this watch is still underrated next to its contemporaries? Is it because the design lacks any key defining features? Is it because of the Grey Market prices? Or is it simply because in an over-saturated market of integrated sports watches, the Laureto has been lost in the sea of competitors? 🥃

Tried on the 42mm blue dial Laureato and immediately fell in love with it. Looking forward to owning it one day. Not as an investment, not as a flex, and not because more people are talking about it now. I own a VC overseas dual time and a grey-dial Laureato 42mm. I love both, but I find it hard not to choose the GP when choosing between both. The VC has a more faceted finish, a more interesting movement, and a slightly higher level of overall quality. The GP has a pull that I can't really quantify; it could be the thinness, it could be the way it hugs the wrist, or it could be just the overall package. I love it.

The Laureato has really grown on me of late. I never used to like them. But with the release of the versions with the gorgeous black onyx dials, and more recently the copper toned hobnail dial variant at 38mm (the perfect watch size for my tastes) they’re solidly on my radar now! If I could afford it (I can’t) the latter would be my everyday watch. But if I could design my own, I’d have it at said 38mm with a black onyx dial and formed of a pale 18 karat 1N yellow gold. As used on the Singer Reimagined Track 1 Geneva edition. Love that watch too! My grail chronograph.

One for me underrated aspect of the laureato is the green and copper dial color. The green dial with its black hands is the best handeld green color dial. But the highlight is the new copper dial color. In my opinion we dont give the dial color of a watch not enough credit. Sometimes the color of the dial becomes the watch while everything like the case and finishing of the watch goes in the background. We see it the best with Rolex and patek. The tiffany blue dial will be one of the best remembered watches of patek. Rolex on the other hand has nicknames for the use of color in there watches (pepsi).
That a simple color of the dial can make one watch iconic speaks of itself. But mybe im just bored of the black, white and navy options.

Yep, a beut! I prefer it to the Nautilus, but not the RO. I'm a huge fan of it's brushing on case and bezel and the clean dial though I'd say the 'GP' at 12 is heavy handed. Size-wise, I think it's a bit big/small. But that seems to be the strategy when wrestling the US/Asian consumer dichotomy. But no 'happy medium' is frustrating. Beautiful watch, but to expensive for me... I really like the GP range, particularly the Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges. That piece is horological sculpture. Thanks for this, it's a timely reminder of the Laureato's qualities.

GP does a chrono version of the Laureato..black “waffle” dial w/ blue subdials, fully brushed..absolutely amazing in its’ simplicity. Lets face it..the overseas or the royal oak aren’t ever going to be an everything watch. The GP fits in the nautilus category at 1/10th the price. Im glad the crowd is looking away..look, over there, a black sub..go get it!

Branding. AP, Patek and Rolex are part of the internet celebrity/influencer uniform. If the average Joe sees one of those brands on your wrist he's going to know you've got a few bob but a GP? Well they might just confuse you with a peasant.

Great watch, excellent video! My only concern would be wearing it in public, with ignorant thieves mistaking it for an AP, and consequently jacking me for it. 🤷🏻‍♂️😕

I would take the Octo Finissimo S over it everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. The Laureato just leaves me cold. Thankfully this hobby is all about individual perspectives and opinions.

And that's probably exactly the reason why watches like these GP's disappear. Affordable prices now cover this style of watch far better. Interesting how this industry actually has a lot of bases covered 😆

The green dial on this one really pulls me in.....but not at $11k...the $7.5k to $8k it changes hands at on the secondary market might make it an option for me.

These seems larger than the specs indicate. I tried a few on at Wempe, I really dig the green dial but again it wears larger like a 43mm. I'm still on the fence.

GP are no longer accepting people onto their waiting list for the laureato, given the incredible interest over the last 12 months. My experience is that people are slowly wising up to this brilliant watch.
In 2021 it was readily available and cost around £6000.
Now unavailable and cost a few thousand more. Grey market they go for £12k
In one afternoon I tried the 5711, the jumbo Royal Oak the laureato and the Glasshutte seventies panorama date. The GO was actually my favourite and that’s the one I wear now. The GP was a close second
Cheers boykie great watch to review

I had to choose between a Laureato and an Aikon, the Aikon won because of its stunning 'Ecru' dial color, Laureato has nothing like it.

Is it so underrated or are/(were?) others hyped to ridiculous secondary prices. If you bought the standard three hander for retail (is that hard to do?) you could get a higher percentage of your money back than someone who swallowed the grey market hype on the RO, Nautilus, and Overseas and bought at the top. Ignoring all the secondary pricing madness that took place I think it holds its place well. I'd certainly consider it at retail before I paid a similar price for 41mm Datejust with Jubilee and WG bezel on the grey market. That's presuming Datejust prices don't fall back to pre pandemic levels. Myself I think if the Rolex dam bursts it will show first in Datejust prices but that's going off at a tangent.

GP lacks some hype ... and as far as the Laureato is concerned, I thinks they should get rid of the clous de Paris pattern and get a nice and slick dial , like the gorgeous onyx one .

It's nice enough, top of the second division if you like. Lots of People have done vids on it,Im bored of Frederico banging on about it, and peple still dont want it. It was more than just a little in debt to the Oak, its a handsome watch tho, just a bit meh. See also the Chopard Alpine Sparrow . Btw the office name plate style logo surround is genuinely horrible when its used. The Oysterquartz is the standout value piece in this segment, how about that?
