I never cease to be amazed at how you find a rather obscure timepiece with pure elegance and timelessness. Such a splendid choice! Very well done indeed my friend. 🥃
I think you just hit a "home run" there my friend! Definitely pure class! I love the way you make us think differently, and surprise and delight us with a brand and style we never thought of. Couple that with the fascinating history, education of the design language, makes your watch channel my absolute favourite! It's so nice to see your passion as a true watch enthusiast, being expressed in such a unique and creative fashion. Unearthing these little gems, like the Universal Geneve and now this stunning GP, makes my heart sing. You've taken my appreciation of horology, yet again, to a brand new level! Onwards and Upwards! P.S. You look seriously dangerous in those shades, walking around Philly!
Ive been a watcher of your TGV since 2016. I want to say thank you for these years you have been treasure more than not. You have been a respite from the world from time to time. a bit of class in my life. Warm Wishes and Happy Holidays
Wow! Breguet style hands with roman numerals is definitely one of my favorite combination. The simplicity and beauty of this watch is timeless! Just Beautiful!!!
I'd never buy a gold watch. I think they're needlessly flashy and overly extravagant. But my god, I'd make an exception for that if I had the money. So beautiful. So elegant. So classic. Thank you for sharing.
Just "Wow". That watch seriously looks like it was made for sitting on your wrist. I'm generally not a fan of rose either, but the blend with the yellow dial looks absolutely fantastic in your wrist with the updated strap. I have too much red in my tone for gold to work for myself, but that's a real stunner for you. You managed both onward and upward this time.
Wow. What a piece this is. I really do love and appreciate the education and understanding ( and entertainment ) you give us of history and design and even engineering ( quick call Marc ) of these pieces. I will never be able to step up to these time pieces, but you sure do make it interesting.
i think i enjoyed unboxing this little gem as much as you did mate!..classy! im from bristol u.k ....isambard brunel would be proud of this understated timepiece, pure class! onwards and upwards mate!
The moment you slipped off the ebay backcover, you in the video and me watching said the same words exactly at the same time with same tempo - oh. my. god. Congratulations on the fabulous piece, definitely a keeper.
Very nice indeed, and the Hirsch strap works really well. I went a little nuts last year, so 2023 has been a light year for me in watch buying terms. So far, my "final" watch purchase of 2023 (way back in June) was a Glycine Airman 42. I don't spin in your circles in terms of watch collecting, and I tend to lean into the practical, sporty side. Too many hobbies to fund (vintage road bikes, PC building, woodworking, redecorating my house) and too many desirable sub-$300 watches for me to justify buying expensive pieces.
TGV old chap. What a wonderful piece. It suits you to a tee. It's the perfect watch for you. It's elegant and sophisticated without shouting about it. Onwards and upwards old chap.
Another pure class video! The decoration is mesmerizing, you really can take a few time to look at that remarkable case back! Classic elegance in small piece of art. Thank you to bring up amazing pieces like this GP.
I instinctively look at the Roman numeral 4 on watches and clocks. I learned about that horological Easter egg 20 years ago in Rome. The sign of pure class, but I’d expect nothing less.
The blued hands are not a minor detail! Back in the middle 30s to middle 40s, rose gold was popular for men's watches and they usually came with blued hands. I'm glad this watch keeps up this tradition.
Very nice. A true gentleman’s watch for a true gentleman. Although a very tiny evil part of me was thinking it would be hilarious if you opened it, and there was a Moonswatch inside. And you started yelling obscenities in Italian! 🇮🇹
Not normally a lover of gold watches but this is stunning , the work on the dial face and the movement would just keep me looking at it rather than telling time. I love old Pocket Watches so maybe this is what draws me to it esp with the blued hands. The strap just goes with the watch and again a great price by Hirsch. Congrats on a stunning piece
Watching your channel over the years has taught me so much, it’s the reason I am spending so much! Your latest purchase is absolutely stunning, all the very best.
Ooooh! If I wore a monocle, it would have fallen off from sheer surprise. That rotor is more decorated than most high end dials! 😮 Not a watch I would go for personally, but it does compliment your personal style perfectly I must say.👌
I was a little alarmed at the idea of you getting a GP, but, wow, what a beauty! I should have known your choice would be expressive of your great taste, TGV. Well done!👍👍
That ticks my box for a very classy timepiece. I might have played a bit safe with a dark brown lizard strap if I was the proud owner. Once again thanks for providing such a professional enjoyable video .
That’s a beautiful watch TGV. Your wife’s Omega Deville used to be my favourite watch. That GP you just got is now my favourite. I really do have a soft spot for dressier classy watches. They remind me of watching a movie that takes place in the early 1900’s in London when Men would dress up to go anywhere.
I love G-P dress watches from pre-Laureato era with their classy and simple style, also often executed in gold with Gyromatic movements. Their first Laureato Quartz Chronometer is also iconic watch.
A video just in time! This morning getting dressed, I dropped my Prada L'homme cologne and smashed my vanity sink. The cologne is fine, but I spent all day ripping out and replacing my vanity sink. I just sat down and noticed a video😊 Now I can relax 😌
I would describe this watch as. Class with a touch of timeless luxury and a ton of good taste. A description most people should aspire to. Thank you for the video !
This is not the style of watch that I'd usually be too interested in but that is a stunning and interesting watch. It really does have that perfect balance of "show" but not in your face bling. As you said it's tasteful regality and I suppose the balance of that is personal preference but I think this one hits the mark.
Wonderful review! I love to see how your tastes have changed and I recall an older video of yours discussing the importance of growth and evolving your tastes and maturity etc. Great video!
Wow, great watch. She's so different, I like that. I don't know why I thought that way and still think that way, but with Girard-Perregaux I always thought that they were one of the few watch brands that have always remained true to themselves. They never particularly fluffed themselves up, but they were never completely forgotten either. I was a big fan of “Vintage 1945” back in the 1990s. Along with JLC, they are one of my favorite names in the watch world.
Loved the cutaway to the scrolling through Blu-rays!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Didn’t register what was going on, 🤔 but when the penny dropped! So satisfying, and such a beautifully creative way of illustrating the passage of time. Bravo 👏🏻. Superb video. Beautiful watch.
It is a good looking watch, and it does have some similarities to the Breguet Classique. I don't think, however, that it belongs in the same sentence as similar watches from the other manufacturers mentioned in the title. It's less refined than those, particularly in terms of movement architecture and finishing. Then again, it's a different price point, so that's to be expected. Hope you enjoy it, and looking forward to seeing your grail next year!
Broadening horizons with pure class 👌🏼 Would love to see some content regarding Swiss watch brands that are no longer with us today. I’m sure there must be some great history and technical advances in watch making that can be contributed to brands that have either been absorbed my other brands, or those that simply just didn’t survive.
I dont think I would have branched out to GP personally in my collection as of yet, but if id known about this piece id have absolutely picked this up! what a watch! time for me to get into reading about GP more. The dial and case back combo are wild. Insane pick up , congratz
I never cease to be amazed at how you find a rather obscure timepiece with pure elegance and timelessness. Such a splendid choice! Very well done indeed my friend. 🥃
Obscure lol 🤦
It’s his job. GP is far from obscure, even to the casual hobbyist.
201 pieces sold exclusively in japan in 1992. yeah thats the definition of obscure. incredible find
I think you just hit a "home run" there my friend! Definitely pure class! I love the way you make us think differently, and surprise and delight us with a brand and style we never thought of. 🙏🙏🙏😎 A thousand thank yous. You are deeply appreciated.
Onwards and ever upwards,

Ive been a watcher of your TGV since 2016. I want to say thank you for these years you have been treasure more than not. You have been a respite from the world from time to time. a bit of class in my life. Warm Wishes and Happy Holidays
WOW!! it caught me by surprise when you opened the box. WOW WOW WOW!
Not very often do I audibly say wow with the reviewer but when I saw that movement, I was awestruck! Unreal detail. What a beautiful acquisition
Very nice TGV. The first thing that came to my mind when you unboxed it was that your new watch is pure class. Congratulations 👏
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. I would wear it upside down to showcase that beauty lol
Once again a winner...Beautiful watch...One would expect no less from someone with such impeccable taste..
Another sublimely produced video and a very sumptuous watch to feast our eyes on. O&U Tristano man!
This is beautiful and not an obvious choice. Congratulations on your final acquisition for 2023! May it bring you joy for years to come.
Just "Wow". That watch seriously looks like it was made for sitting on your wrist. What a banger! I love that you feature these lesser known pieces. It’s a beautiful watch. Bravo 👏
Wonderful video, beautiful watch. Congratulations on a wonderful choice. John
Congratulations on a stellar purchase!!! Beautiful stuff.

Oh my goodness! I loooooooove this watch and it is without a shadow of a doubt one of my favorite watches that you’ve ever owned!!
I remember watching one of your videos many years ago. You have really come along way. Cheers.
The moment you slipped off the ebay backcover, you in the video and me watching said the same words exactly at the same time with same tempo - oh. my. god.
Congratulations on the fabulous piece, definitely a keeper.
Good to see your video pop up on my feed on the weekend! Hope all is well TGV
Absolutely stunning watch in all regards.
Congratulations. Your proclivity to gold, the proportional size, the attention to detail all add up to perfect for you.
Very classy, congratulations 👏
WOW, impressive bit of kit. Really sophisticated. Art for the wrist. I'd be too scared to wear it.
Enjoy this piece in good health.
Very divine and I agree with the strap replacement just perfect!!
I was not expecting that...
Timeless classic!

Absolutely stunning! That decoration on the movement is mesmerizing! Pure class indeed!
That is SOME piece! Congrats! And I love the end of this vid; beautifully shot and wondrously narrated. As you said, this watch is "pure class."
TGV old chap. What a wonderful piece. It suits you to a tee. It's the perfect watch for you. It's elegant and sophisticated without shouting about it.
Onwards and upwards old chap.
Great film choices, thanks for another fantastic segment TGV.
Stunning, so much detail but a beautifully cohesive design.
Thanks for your entertaining and informative posts this year!
Thank you! I always appreciate the support, it would not be possible without your support!
Best regards,
TGV
I must admit, the rotor and power reserve indicator are the highlights for me. Fantastic choice! I truly appreciate the attention to detail.
Absolutely gorgeous watch. Congratulations! Please share it often on the channel. 👏👏👏👏
What a beauty! Loving it on the black lizard strap…black and gold always takes me back to the John Player Special racing colours, pure class. ❤
Congratulation TGV. Excellent choice. And very beautiful GP
Very tasteful piece! Congrats on you purchase Sir!
Nice ! That could easily pass for a George Daniels. 😉
That cheeky laugh at 5:24. Very naughty TGV 😂
Fantastic piece of art, great video production, thank you TGV!
As always Pure Class. An excellent end of the year purchase.
This is a true IYKYK piece, I look forward to seeing it in a "How to Dress..." Video.
Stunning, the finishing just . Wow
looks lovely on the rainbow strap.
Absolutely breathtaking watch. You could wear this upside down and not care that you couldn't tell the time. Congratulations
The best intros on RUclips in any genre!
This is absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations on the purchase!
Now that’s a watch to hand down to the grandkids.
Another pure class video! The decoration is mesmerizing, you really can take a few time to look at that remarkable case back! Classic elegance in small piece of art. Thank you to bring up amazing pieces like this GP.

Absolutely lovely piece!!! Congratulations!!!
Amazing time piece
Awesome watch! So much detailed yet understated. Enjoy 😊
My final (watch) purchase of 2023 was an 80's Timex Ironman Triathlon. Really looking forward to getting it!
It is not the watch that makes the man, it is the Urban Gentry Man that makes the watch and here we have it. Very refreshing and congratulations!!!
That GP is unbelievable. Wonderful timepiece on so many levels. Congrats! And shout out to the speedy at 13:10 Glad to see your making the most of it.
TGV just has a style and vibe like no other. Love you brother.

Hi TGV. Please also do your annual war room tour. I always find it fascinating! Onwards and upwards!
That watch is just brilliant TGV. Very special indeed and it suits you!!
That's a great find. I want to thank you for all your fantastic videos.
Wow! What a find! And really fits with you. Enjoy!
Absolutely stunning!!!! Loved hearing all of the reasons this piece resonates with you, and that strap choice is perfect!
Congrats TGV - absolutely stunning!
Congratulations TGV! A beautiful piece, pure class!
Amazing video, beautiful piece with one of the most amazing rotors I've ever seen in a watch
Beautiful piece!!

Wow!!! Congratulations, my man. Stunningly beautiful pickup. I had my final 2023 pickup yesterday - a rootbeer GMT. Hope you had a great thanksgiving!
A video just in time!
This morning getting dressed, I dropped my Prada L'homme cologne and smashed my vanity sink. The cologne is fine, but I spent all day ripping out and replacing my vanity sink.
I just sat down and noticed a video😊 Now I can relax 😌
So sorry to hear that, that must be one heck of strong cologne bottle!
Stay smelling good my friend, thank you.
Best regards as always,
TGV
Absolutely beautiful watch, such that I thought it was the oft mentioned grail! Unique and classy.

Pure class TGV… very intrigued about your revised and reduced collection. Could you ever get below five time pieces?
