Thanks for all the support you've been a day one 🥑✌️ Stay tuned for the GEM avocado fruit giveaway, like in about 2-3 weeks, when it starts getting hauled up from Santa Paula via Brokaw Farms.

Thanks for another great video. I would like to learn more about pinching.

Wherever you pinch, growth will head in the opposite direction, pinch the top, and growth will come from the bottom and vise versa. Also, pinch the right side, and growth will immediately push to the left.

What’s the difference between pinching to stop the growth versus cutting that branch off near to the trunk? How tall is the GEM supposed to get - is it more limited height compared to the Lamb? When planting that 5 ga Lamb, should a person “rough up” the roots lightly after coming out of the pot? About how many months earlier than the Lamp will the GEM produce?

@ocneal pinching the end top growth of branches is called a heading cut. You decapitate the growth tip to immediately push growth in the opposite direction, but eventually, it'll bounce back, and the single pinched limb will multiply into a multi shoot. This technique can be used to shape a young tree and stimulate vegetative growth. Cutting a limb near the trunk at the collar is a thinning cut and completely eliminates the branch. GEM (10-12ft) is more height limited than LAMB (~16ft). GEM will be earlier than LAMB. We will start to see GEM in the next 2 weeks in our farmers' markets via Will Brokaw he fruit hauls down from Ventura Co. and LAMB will be later, but I'm not too familiar with LAMB. I've never worked with LAMB. Thank you for watching ✌️🥑
