Can you send some to Arkansas ?
@@IsraelReyes-r7v You can order all these varities GWEN, GEM, & LAMB HASS online via FOURWINDSGROWERS checkout their site. They're currently out of stock but will have them back in inventory spring of 2025. I've moched up an avocado tree in a box for shipping for the east coast and the estimate was $250 so I recommend you go through them for cheaper shipping. Also buy more than one expected failure rate on seedling rootstock is about 10 -15% so like 1 out of 10 will underperform and do nothing. ✌️🥑 Hopefully you get some. Thank you for watching

@@brianmurillo2491 Lambs pretty established throughout the San Jose area I think you should be fine. I only cover on cold snaps with frost cloth at or below 32⁰ freezing temps. Question. Will a tree growing from a seed give avocados or does it have to be grafted?. Growing a haas tree from a seed
@@liox7 A seedling may takes about 5 -10 years to sexually mature and produce flower. Taste & Productivity will be unknown but could lead to something new. You'll get there faster by pinching, bending limbs, & girddling. You can always graft later . 🥑✌️ Thanks for watching

Nice video my friend, thanks for sharing!
How old is Lamb?
@@realvardhan newly in ground planted tree not even a month. It was originally in a 15 probably 18-24 months in the container I'm guessing. The reason this tree looks good it's because its from the growing grounds down in Fallbrooks.
Personally I like one vertical cut, and then insert the scion from the top - that way the existing bark also puts pressure for better contact.
Thank you for your input I will attempt and video that method too. Stay tuned thanks for watching ✌️🥑

What’s up bro?! I didn’t know you grew guavas. I thought you were Puro Avocado power 😂👊🏼

Thanks 2 of these were 15s from the Fallbrook growing grounds. ✌️🥑 Thanks for watching stay tuned for updates
Those are nice looking trees 😊
Yes they are 🥑🌿 Thank you for watching
The trained Gem looks way better, healthier. That could because it's in the ground and the tall one is in a pot. Get it out of the pot and during December/January prune it down.. i like your idea of making 4 major limbs. I'm going to keep mine 8' to 10' high and 6' to 8' wide.
@@jacksprat1124 The GEM went in the ground yesterday paired with a GWEN and a LAMB. Instead of hard pruning I plan to release the central leader from the stake pole and allow it to bend over. I'll pull it in the direction where Im missing a limb. I'll train the central leader to become a main lateral branch. I'll push the growth vigor downward by also pinching it. 🌿🥑 Thanks for watching stay tuned for updates
Which month is best to do this?
Graft when growth is active look for limbs with young red/purple flush. Avoid doing it in the rain season and heateaves. I graft in Spring, Early Summer, and early Fall.
Those are great looking trees. Are you planting these ones on your property? Or for another client? You do a lot of great service for other people, I hope you have some trees set up for yourself, too.
@@jenny_avocado At my house, I have GEM and a CARMEN. I'm mothering out 30+ trees at 9 different residential properties throughout the 831 Salinas, Watsonville, Santa Cruz. I own and co-own some trees with family and childhood friends. I'm my family's fruitscaper I tend to their trees and in return I get invited to the harvest and carne asada with access and rights to video content, budwood and seeds what I really want remember I'm calling this an avocado breeding program. Also, it is a good excuse to visit family and introduce my daughter to her little cousins. Additionally, 15+ avocado trees in community gardens again Salinas, Watsonville, Santa Cruz where I plan to teach accordion lessons and jam out on harvest day like a harvest fest to share fruit and budwood. As time is progressing more relatives are jumping on the avocado bandwagon and several invites to more comminuty gardening societies, stay tuned. Yes, I offer my services to the general public. I'm not the $20/ hour guy but also nowhere near the highend. For those who are seriously interested and not trying to low ball me my bids go about 85% of the time which tells me I'm too low but it's been a great learning experience and I'm starting to get my name out there. This was a referral from the person I planted the proven HASS in the 25 gal. container with hanging fruit. Don't worry, I kept versions of all these trees from the same lot/batch or shipment/delivery that are actually holding fruit ✌️😁🥑
@ wow, such an ambitious project to do an avocado breeding program. I’ve had a dream to do this up here in Napa. In fact, I shared this with a friend of my husbands who makes wine from a local vineyard. He says he thinks that vineyard has a section of land where I can plant an experimental avocado orchard for them as part of my dream to see what trees will thrive up in this area. Too bad you are so far away, I’d love to pay you to help me with such a project. The work you do is solid, and I’m glad you have that arrangement with friends and family. What a wonderful way to create community and connection through agriculture… the power of the aguacaté is strong.

Do you fertilize this time of the year?
@@growyourownavocados Not this one because I fed generously so it should have enough food to hold it over winter. For new installs and production prunings early October would of been the deadline but Im always running behind. So I half dose the half dose about a ¼ cup just to send of the tree into winter with some stored nutrients I'm not really trying to push a new flush. What I really want is to introduce the mycorrhiza the beneficial fungus so they can start colonizing the roots and start predigesting nutrients and break down organic material in the rootball like the wood byproduct stuff.✌️🥑

Those are very healthy trees are you going to grow them in ground or containers?
@@libertyontheland Containers for now. Eventually put them in the ground using the broken bottomless pot method. ✌️🥭 Thanks for watching stay tuned for updates. Are you growing any mango trees?
@@831AVO I mostly only grow seed grown mango since they are more affordable and cold hardy plus compared to avocado grown from seed I don’t think it possible to grow a bad tasting mango I heard any mango seedling will taste like a mango. I have sweet tart, Venus, maha chanok, lemon zest, mallika,Manila Kent, coconut cream, cotton candy, orange sherbet. I do have grafted ndm#4, Pickering, alphonso, and Keitt but all these grafted trees are stunted 2 years in the ground and they don’t have any new growth.
