I did something similar with mine. I superglued a tiny washer on top of the side button. Makes finding the button by feel a lot easier, and you can still see the battery indicator through the cut out in the washer.

al you have to do is put a little stick into the 2 lanyard holes

All you need to do is back the tail switch off 3/8 turn, light won't turn on.

Lanterning in a tent? Park the flashlight in a shoe or coffee mug, or just prop it up against something or anything.
There are no flat, perfectly level surfaces in a tent anyway. And they hang fine by the lanyard. No need to be perfectly vertical.

Makes sense. Thanks for the advice. Can you recommend a type of shoe this will work with, and whether the left or right is better? And will a tea mug work?

I recommend Merrill Moab hiking boots. Use the left boot, because the right boot holds pocket contents, such as folding knife, pistol, and eyeglasses. I think we Americans drink real coffee, and kicked out the poofter tea drinkers nearly 250 years ago. They can't carry guns or knives even today, @@watchncarry9593

All you need to do is...get a better light that gets you more for your money. Do better Fenix. Having to MacGyver for a 100$ torch is ridiculous, coming from a Fenix fan #disappointed
