I feel the same way about that PD36R. I'm interested in getting that PD25R because of that fantastic charging port cover and you've explained everything I need to hear to say "buy it." Thanks for this review!
I got my PD36R in 2018 and it lived in my pocket, day and night, for several years. It's a total workhorse. Like yourself, I mounted it on my bike handlebars, and my rubber port cover also gave up in the end. Mine is still attached, but I use a little piece of duct tape to pin it down. I'll probably just rip it off like you did. My PD36R was eventually 'retired' to the mantlepiece when I got the PD35 v3, which has a lot more throw in a smaller unit, and no annoying rubber flap to worry about. I can't wait to get my hands on the PD25R - here in Australia we're still waiting for it to become available.
@@youthmanyt Not yet, but am thinking about it, if it comes up on sale. EDIT - I have one now. It's quite comparable to the PD35 v3. The PD32's beam looks a little tighter, but is harder to discern as having more throw than the PD35 even though it says so on paper.
Ripped off my usb flap also on my 36. Wouldn’t seat in place correctly anymore. Waterproof though. All good. I occasionally have failure to turn on. Have to tap it and click again.
Good morning, nice review the PD25R looks great. But there are comments from some that the light is too green/yellow in low and medium mode. your opinion? thanks
It is fairly green on low levels but at higher levels it has nicer and much more neutral tint than pd36r. Funny thing is, when you use pd25r only, your eyes adjust and the light looks more yellowish than green on low levels and feels nicer than just cool white. I really do like the light now, but the first time i saw that green... Man i was dissapointed... :D Fenix makes the best flashlights but i just wish they offered LEDs between 4500K and 5000K and offered a moonlight mode. And of course a tailstand... Almost none of the fenix flashlights does that and i dont get why... Tint, moonlight and tailstand are the only resasons i have two Olight lights- "Warrior Mini 2" which is cool white but not blue like feenix, more neutral and great looking and "M2R pro Warrior" which is under 5000K and slightly yellow and much more pleasant to look at. Everything just look so much nicer witch this light. :)
@@tomstutz2645 I'm not distinguishing between green and yellow. I mean, when I first turn it on low or medium, it appears yellowish/greenish - not sure which. But I agree that after awhile your eyes get used to it and you don't see that tint. It's not a big deal - still a great light, IMHO. :)
I noticed your silicone usb c flap is missing? So is mine and like yours, the damn light just keeps working. I wash mine weekly and have 0 issues with the circuitry of the pd36r turning on.
If your not a real heavy user meaning your not subjecting it to alot of, liquids, dirt, dropping, and other environmental extremes im sure the olights will hold up okay. They do have alot more budget friendly options with all the specs to match more expensive lights. That being said in my personal experience olights do not hold up to the conditions i subject my lights to. On the other hand, fenix lights continue to take a beating.
Hi, sorry to ask you for help does the turbo mode work when the battery indicator is fixed red? On some Fenix models, the system only accepts to trigger turbo when the battery indicator is green...and refuses when it is red. Thank you very much for your help 🙂😉.
In my 6-8 months of use i have never had my pd36r on solid red. Frankly its unrealistic to think you could use that much juice in one day even starting from a 70%~ 80% charge. Run time on level 3 which is more than acceptable for most tasks is something like 8 hours. Thats a long time. Most jobs dont require continuous light for more than 8 hours in a day. If thats something you need i recommend a much larger light or perhaps a generator and a work lamp.

Glad to see someone else having a positive experience with this company.
Have you tried out the pd32 v2 yet. Looks to have excellent through also.

For your information, it is now available on the fenix com AU website ;-)

I have the PD25R and find that the low and medium modes do have a greenish tint to them. I wish it was more white or bluish.

New to flashlights. Was interested in an o light but you’re saying they’re not a great build quality? Should I go the fenix route then?
