- We will show you a Mexican stlye Sponge Cake from Central and South America.It's a well known recipe and calls Tres Leches Cake(in Spanish mean Three Milks Cake).Here is a step-by-step tutorial for Tres Leches Cake Recipe.It's the moistest cake you have ever seen.This Cake is easy and delicious,melts in your mouth.If you have a sweet tooth,you have to give this recipe a try!
First of all,in the bowl of a mixer,beat the eggs and sugar on high speed.Keep beating with adding the vegetable oil and vanilla sugar.Add in the semolina,sifted flour and baking powder and mix gently with the help of a spoon.Pour on a greased baking sheet.Bake at 160C(320F) for 30-35 mins in oven.While the cake baking,make the syrup topping;Pour milk in a cooking pan.Add in cream,milk powder and sugar.Mix them well.Turn the heat on and cook for a while.Take it from heat before it starts to boil.Let it cools down.Remove the cake from the oven and pour the cooled down syrup evenly on the cake.Moisten the cake with the syrup.Let it soaks the milky syrup.Meanwhile,caramelize the sugar in a skillet.Once it melted,add the heavy cream and do not mix it ,let it mix on its own.When the caramel sauce is ready,pour it in a cup to cool down.And then pour the cooled down caramel sauce evenly over the cake,keep in fridge for 2 hours and it's ready to serve,enjoy!
Ingredients for Cake
5 eggs
1 cup Sugar
1/2 pck baking powder
1 pck vanilla sugar
1 Cup + 1 tbsp flour
2 tbsp semolina
100 ml vegetable oil
For Milky Sauce
600ml heavy cream(200g)
2 tbsp milk powder
2 tbsp sugar
For Caramel sauce
5 tbsp sugar
1 pck heavy cream(200g) Хобби

Brinda De Leon-Fisher Semolina is the coarse, purified wheat middlings of durum wheat used in making pasta, breakfast cereals (similar in texture like cream of wheat) puddings, and couscous, I've been enjoying it since my early childhood, my 10 year old daughter loves it too. Semolina like couscous can be bought in different texture or sizes or the grades of the grains, from very coarse/large. to medium to very fine or superfine which is usually what I buy,. it is easy and quick to cook, only a few tbsps. to a cup of! warm milk will give you a delicious creamy pudding like hot nutritious cereal, There is a tricky part in the preparation though, it is similar to when adding polenta or corn meal to your hot liquid. You have to add it to the liquid of your choice, in this application it would be milk, slowly but consistently while stirring the milk quickly creating a whirlpool to which you will be pouring the Semolina into the center of if. I like to use a whisk at first till all the Semolina is added to the milk then I stir briskly, and once I start feeling and seeing the Semolina thicken which takes only a few minutes I lower the heat, NEVER allowing it to boil, and remove from the heat covering it right away,... There are many ways to enjoy it, I make mine more like a pudding, by steeping a vanilla bean in the milk first then adding 1 tbsp of sugar to every cup of milk I use a pinch of salt and a tiny on of butter (for richness). And to serve you can sprinkle a little brown sugar and cinnamon or cinnamon sugar on top, which is comforting during the winter months, and during the summer we love topping it off with blueberries and a drizzle of fresh cream,.. any fresh fruit will do, 😊Enjoy!!!! Sorry for long reply.. couldn't help sharing a comfort food that I enjoy, and the best part is that it's a healthy food. There are many things you can do with Semolina, explore and enjoy..All the best!!😊😋

+Allison Heart tres leches is an albanian originated dessert which went to latin america by Nestle. At the time they were producing milk, condensed milk and they put recipes on the milk boxes for selling strategie, marketing. So its just a cake with milk sauce, btw tres leches means three milks (cow, goat, buffalo) so it would be very different toppings for different countries, you should try caramel sauce, my favorite :)
Ok, I always thought it should be topped with whipcream but I guess I was wrong,but next time I make a tres leche cake I will try it with caramel sauce for sure :)

I followed your recipe very accurately, but failed to get a Mexican style cake. This recipe does not work. The formula is not right. Baking powder 2pck is not a measurement. I wasted my time and ingredients.
WRONG RECIPE!!!!It's 3 LECHES because it has Condense milk, Evaporated milk, and Regular milk and it's not pour hot it will mush the cake . What's up with the caramelize sugar, THIS IS NOT A 3 LECHES CAKE,,please don't be miss informing viewers.
