I just made this for my husband’s birthday! We are stationed in Virginia and not a lot of Hispanic anything out here so I wanted to make him his favorite cake😭 this came out sooo amazing and I wouldn’t have been able to do this without you!! I made this last night. And had a slice this morning. It was delicious!!
A few tips:
1) don’t be scared to use less sugar. I didn’t use as much sugar as she did and the cake still taste delicious
2) after you put the syrup on the cake, I recommend you cover it with plastic and store it in the fridge overnight

So you’re saying to put the cake in the fridge with the syrup overnight before putting the whip cream? also, why do you need to pre-cut the cake? I just think it looks more aesthetically pleasing without the cuts but if it’s for a purpose to make the cake more moist or for the milk to spread better can u let me know thanks 😁

I made the first tres leches cake and immediately knew what you meant about the difference in the flour you used versus the tres leches 2.0. It worked out perfect because I used the first video as my first time making tres leches cake and by the time you uploaded the 2.0 version, I was ready ready! And it came out so much better than the first one! Not as dense and super delicious. Thanks for putting details down to the T, it helped a lot! Great recipe!!

I made this cake for my family today and they loved it. I messed up on the egg whites the first time and didn't have more eggs at room temperature so I put a bowl of separated eggs white over some boiled hot water so it could warm the egg whites. It worked perfect this way and they were way more fluffier. Because my family likes more milky flavor, I used less condensed milk and more whole milk. For the first try it was really good! Can't wait to do it again even better!

The first time I made this cake, it turned out great except the "syrup" was a little too sweet for me. That didn't stop me from eating it though😁. NOW...I just made it a second time and added more whipping cream and a tad less sugar for the syrup and HOLY SMOKES....it turned out DELICIOUS!!! This is THE BEST recipe out there!!! I have followed many recipes and different techniques to make the cake to absorb the milks and none of them worked, besides the texture on the other ones were so dense, this came out amazingly delicious!!!

So I used your recipe yesterday for my son's birthday and made him a seis Leche cake and he was amazed at how delicious it was. I just changed my syrup and I topped it with dulce de leche and shredded toasted coconut. It was delicious!!! Thanks for this recipe!! God bless!!

I tried your other recipe just substituted it with all purpose flour and my famiy & friends loved it! they said the taste and texture was perfect. i noticed it's the same with this recipe just less measurements in the ingredients. ALSO my cake did shrink after cooling but good to know i won't add any butter on the pan! :)

This one is more traditional and my favorite. The previous one is for those that don't like it over soaked. I actually made it for my son on his birthday and used your other recipe. It came out perfect and it was a hit. However I did not have the cake flour and used regular flour and it still was so good.

I made this yesterday following your recipe. Tasted great, but I'm sad to say the texture was off. It was very dense. Don't know what went wrong lol.
I ordered the other cake flour and just put the other version in the oven rn. I hope it comes out good. Now I'm thinking to try it with the other purpose flour in case 🤔. I will let you know if the 1st version is a pass or fail for me.

It actually turned out pretty good. It was for my sister. She said it was a little dense but good. So I'm going to try the other one to see if she likes that version better. But it was delicious to me. I'll come back and tell you which one I preferred. Thanks for sharing your step by step recipe.

The only questions I have are 1) what size cans of evaporated and sweetened condensed milk are you using? And 2) what size glass baking dish?
I used a 14oz can of Sweetened Condensed Milk and a 12oz can of Evaporated Milk.
