What a great apartment. The views alone are worth the cost. Nala is so sweet and beautiful and it’s so wonderful to see how much of your lives are devoted to her comfort and happiness. So glad it’s all working out so well.
🖐🏽🖐🏽Hello from the USA 🇺🇸, Hinesville GA. I just found your channel and I love watching your videos, I am a new subscriber and I absolutely love, love, love Nala, she’s beautiful, I am the proud mother to a 12 year old Bichon mix named Precious and 2 beautiful cat, so I am a animal lover, and I too cook for my Precious. I’m almost 70 years old, but I would give anything to be able to travel to South Korea and Vietnam. But I do get the chance by watching your videos and some others I have found, thank you so much for sharing your journey, I really enjoyed it, God Bless you and Kim♥️♥️🙏🏽🇺🇸
Hey! Glad you found us! I'll bet you still have plenty of adventure left in you but in the meantime I'm so happy that you can live vicariously through us and maybe we'll influence you a bit into taking that leap!

Congratulations and I’m glad it worked out you! It’s a great place at a great price. I absolutely love the view especially the river with the mountains. Gorgeous natural sunshine. No suffering from Vitamin D deficiency and no Seasonal Affect disorder like I have in New England for sometimes more than 3 months. I’m really happy for you both. I’m not sure how you popped up on my feed but I enjoyed the few blogs I had a chance to catch. I’m subscribing so I follow your journey! Congrats again and best wishes!!

It's funny the weird things you pointed out about your condo, I've been saying this since moving here: it feels like the builders were told "here is a photo of what a Western house/hotel/restaurant look like you have 5 minutes to remember and then just build it". The ELEMENTS are all there but they are done in ways that don't actually make sense. Which is funny because I would guess the rooms are more or less a template of each other so they only need to design it once right. That said I wouldn't trade it. I love Da Nang so much. I just signed a one year lease for a 3 story house about 5 minutes from you in My An for 16M. It has a totally blocked fence so you can't see in (because we were worried about our dog). If you decide to stay here long term, the pricing on houses with 3-6 month payments upfront is amazingly affordable.
lmfao yeah they know what should be in a upscale unit but now why. It's just a lack of refinement. It's in LA too you can tell when it's a developer's first high rise because there's just details they didn't account for. They gotta make mistakes on the first one and then learn from it for the next one. We were pretty set up on a high rise amenity building and we some that had REALLY nice finishes for a similar price but... no dogs allowed. Tbh the amenities were pretty lacking in all the building which in LA is pretty much the only reason you pay a premium for these types of building. There's a few more buildings reaching completion soon so we'll see what's out there. We're ok with the price for a little extra peace of mind for Nala. Thanks for the rec I'll try out the Mexican place hopeful but skeptical haha. We're from LA and SD so we love Mexican food but can be pretty picky about good Mexican food.
@@TravelWithNala I've got plenty, I do Da Nang food reviews. Great tour! New viewer of the channel. Is it possible that the omitted mirror panel [11:25] is purposeful because reflection of the sun during different times of day/year? I noticed in video that as you moved, there could possibly be sun glare within the apt from that panel. It has happened to me in a remodeled office. Had to close blinds at times.

Nala sleep 20 hours a day she’s the laziest dog in the world 😂. You’re right though I step out on the balcony 3-4 times a day when I hit a mental block and it just resets me
the night view is wow in 4k. I'm thinking of my retirement and that looks amazing! Your rent for a 3 bedroom is the same rent for my 1 bedroom. Thinking really hard my pros and cons!
Beautiful apartment. So happy for you guys. The views are stunning. I kept saying to myself, I wish I could see the view at night and you then you showed the fireworks. Best part of the video - the nighttime view from the balcony, really looks like a painting. Absolutely stunning!!! What a great balcony to go and decompress. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy!
Thanks I appreciate it! I wasn't originally planning to but I looked out and saw the night view as I was finishing up and thought wow i have to include this!
Hey neighbor! Just stumbled upon your video and noticed you're living in the same building my fiance and I just moved into with our dogs last week. If I see you around I'll say hi.
Am looking forward to your adventures in your new locale. My brother moved to Ecuador an owns a coffee farm there. He sold his last crop to someone in South Korea. You two would get along great with your love of coffee. His operation is called Alaska del Sur. We were down there in February and were able to roast about 40 pounds to bring back with us. He does Geisha as well as a blend of Geisha and Tipica.
Switch outside bathroom is kinda normal, as we fear the electric leaks while bathing. 30 mil is just a bit pricy, but I think with those luxury furnitures included and view it is worth a try xd. I suggest you guys ask the local to find the nearest wholesale market to save budget, as the price may cut down to 1/2 - 1/3.
Oh that makes sense for a wet room style bathroom. Are switches mostly on the outside then? It’s strange because we have one on the outside and one on the inside haha
Beautiful views and furnishing! I absolutely love hard mattresses, so vietnamese are my people! 😂 The drying rack is amazing too! What lease term are you on? We are moving to Danang in a few weeks but thinking to get 6 months only to avoid being a tax resident 😁 even tho im not sure if they enforce it!
Hi David & Kim! Would love to hear more about your experiences traveling with a dog. My partner & I hope to do the same in 3-5 year with our husky as well. ! Many thanks!
Tbh it's not easy. We were initially planning to hop to a new country every 1-2 months to travel as much as possible but getting the dog between countries is only one part of the ordeal. Moving a dog within a city is a challenge on its own. Every country (and city) has different cultures and opinions around dogs and the vast majority of countries don't consider pets lives/wellbeing as highly as we do. Maybe if we weren't both working full-time jobs, we could juggle all of this but we don't think we'll take Nala anywhere other than Da Nang or Seoul where we have family that can help out in case of an emergency.
That is a nice apartment with a nice view and lots of natural light!! I like the unit, but not a fan of the street noise. If I had choose mountain or ocean view I would take ocean view!! I didn't like the villas you were showing when apartment hunting. I think for the view and the space for 1100.00 is cheap compared to the US. Now apartments in Washington DC ( DMV) for one or two bed room apartment is around 2k, plus utiliy.
I'm happy with what we got. The street noise is pretty hard to avoid in Da Nang not to mention the karaoke and all the other noises. I've lived in NYC so I like some background noise.
Incredible apt and those views are phenomenal. New subbie here. Im interested in teaching English. However, I have a service dog and not sure if Vietnam observes service dog's accommodations or not. In the US no one can ban my dog even if they have a no pet policy. So I'll have to do some investigating. Tfs Feel better soon.
@@CraftsandMorewithDonnaJackson oh yeah service dog is not a thing here at all. Even the concept of dogs living indoors and wearing leashes is pretty novel here lol. Just have to ask each apartment if they allow dogs. I think a good amount of them do. It’s becoming more and more common to have indoor dogs as pets.
Hi David & Kim, I recently found your vlog and new subscriber.. My husband and I love it very much. I am retired and interested in visiting Southeast Asia for travel sometime. A long time ago, I have been to some of the southeast asia countries but Vietnam and Thailand. I have lived in the USA for about 40 years now and immigrated from Korea. Btw you look like my son so much! Your gf is so cute, too! 😊❤ Nala is so beautiful 😍 Keep up the good work! 😊❤
In the first bathroom maybe it’s not the plumbing that was installed wrong (highly unlikely given there were architectural floor plans for the entire building with a plumbing layout that can’t easily be mistakenly put in the wrong place) but the doors that were installed wrong. This happened in the house we currently live in so we removed the doors, turned them over, and reinstalled so the door was on the other side and didn’t open into the plumbing.
@ clearly you’re not familiar with how difficult swapping plumbing from one side of the room to the other is. If they “wing it” they’re going to put the finished plumbing where it’s easiest which would be the closest to where the supplies are roughed in. It’s much more likely that the yo-yo installing the door was the one “winging it” and didn’t pay any attention to whether the doors would open cleanly or not. Same kind of stuff happens with cabinet installers and you end up with drawers you can’t open.
Hey David, can you talk about how you plan to live in VN long term i.e visassss... are you just there on the 3 month visa and then plan to go elsewhere afterwards?
Yes! Luckily Da Nang has so much fresh and delicious fruit freshly squeezed into juice and we’ve been indulging ourselves. These would be $10 back in LA but $1-$2 here and it’s so much better here. Amazing!
I have been keeping an eye for you two recently since I discovered your channel last week. I just started (literally, yesterday) trying to learn Hangul and Batchim. HELP!!!!
Good luck! Imo Hangul is one of the easiest languages to learn because the writing is so organized and straightforward. Kim learned to read and write in no time
It really is a popular spot. Spend some time here and see if you like it. Get plugged into a community, get into a routine, and see if you could be happy here long term!
I flipped the seals and put the door the other way and it’s better. For the other bathroom there’s not enough space for the door to swing outwards comfortably
Just found you. I would have maintenance fix the shower because if Kim gets pregnant she won't be able to fit in there to get a shower. You would have to move.
The input about Nala was super helpful, because my girlfriend and I have 2 small dogs and we were thinking of moving to live in Vietnam sometime after working for a little bit/securing a remote job (we just graduated college). How was your experience transporting Nala from the US to Vietnam? That was the only thing holding us back because we were afraid of them getting hurt on the airplane. 😢
It’s much easier with small dogs. A lot of apartments here allow small dogs. I actually see soooo many small dogs walking around town so your dogs will have lots of friends. I *think* that small dogs that fit in a carrier can ride the plane with you under the seat but don’t quote me on that
@@TravelWithNala Thank you so much, that’s reassuring. I just can’t stomach keeping them underneath the plane but I really want to move to Vietnam lol so it’s really conflicting
@@FidelOtero most airlines allow small dogs on the plane, they need to be in a approved carrier that fits under the seat in front of you. You will have to check with each individual airline their policy and the fee ( have to buy a ticket for them ). And you will have to train your dogs to go in the carrier. 😊
new subscriber here! i was also considering on moving out to Da Nang perhaps in the near future. i was curious on what you do for work? are you currently relying on youtube content after selling everything? i wonder if digital nomad is the way to go if moving to Da Nang or if I could find some kind of job in Da Nang when it comes to English teaching or what not. Have considered being a digital nomad but i haven't taken any steps to go towards that path besides starting on my course on digital marketing on coursera. Looking forward to all your new content and your reply! and i'm assuming the move was slightly less difficult since your girlfriend/ wife?? (Kim) is there and are Vietnamese~?
i also know a lot of koreans like to go out to Da Nang because of the flexibility of running an Airbnb there in comparison to running it in Korea due to strict regulations and technically being illegal.. In the near future would you be ever consider running a Airbnb there in Da Nang for i don't know for passive income and if so consider making content of the process of running an Airbnb in the future on your channel? Idk if that is still and up and growing business or too complicated. However I feel like it could be a good opportunity for you since your girlfriend and her parents are their and are locals??
we both work in tech. YT is just for funsies for now. Yeah if I were you I'd find a remote job in the states or teach English here. Good to have stability and consistency and then if you want to get into freelancing or entrepreneurship or yotube or something then you can build that up over time.
@@TravelWithNala any reason why? too much competition? too time consuming? you'll also prob not recommend someone who have no contacts and doing it from scratch if you don't know the language and have barriers to entry
Hello you can book straight with us with the same views in the same building Monarchy B. We are the owner and believes they are unfortunately overpaying usually only 18-20 million for level 27 too (high rise)
Your wife found a job really quick. What does she do? Is it easy or difficult to find a job there? It would be good if you could do a video around this topic and the requirements.
Is Da Nang water chlorinated, what does it smell like? I went to Mauritius and the water smelled like algae in 5/6 places, it was so bad you had to rinse your dishes with bottled water
are you able to please share the contact information for the leasing office? I've been looking for a furnished living space but communication has been difficult so it's so helpful to see an active example of a unit in full. the price also seems very reasonable everything considered. PLease and thank you.
@@theelitelifeee there’s no limit but of course that could change. Vietnam has been planning a digital nomad visa like some of the neighboring countries but nothing yet.
Yeah it's a huge oversight by the developers imo. The house is really big and there's plenty of wasted sqft. The bathroom does not need to be that small.
HCMC has a lot more options for high rise modern apartment options than Da Nang. But I’m not sure if get a 3BR apartment like this in HCMC for this price. I’m not as familiar with the market there. Also we can’t “get more” because it doesn’t really exist here 😂
Tech mess. Buy a container, junk drawer. The toilet in the bathing room is not ideal. You could ask them to accommodate you with a shower curtain instead of the glass door.
Looking at Vietnam and Thailand apartments it makes me realize how crappy Korean apartments are. Korean apartments are built cheap and antiquated design
This is an incredibly dumb statement on so many levels. You're comparing apples and oranges. This apartment is literally one of the best in Da Nang. The average Viets can't afford places like this. It's only affordable for wealthy expats with foreign salaries/income. Best apartments or "officetels" in Seoul are just as good if not better, but of course more expensive. You just don't see them that often on RUclips because not many people including Western expats can afford to live there.

I need a passport first 😏 yeah, yeah, I know, I know. I'm working on it 😅) But again, I'm loving that view.
Nala sleep 20 hours a day she’s the laziest dog in the world 😂. You’re right though I step out on the balcony 3-4 times a day when I hit a mental block and it just resets me
Beautiful apartment.
Beautiful view of the Han River
Nice choice. Pretty nice place
Thanks! We’re happy with our choice. (Even though it was our only choice 😂)
the night view is wow in 4k. I'm thinking of my retirement and that looks amazing! Your rent for a 3 bedroom is the same rent for my 1 bedroom. Thinking really hard my pros and cons!
It's not a surprise why so many people choose Da Nang for retirement
Nice apartment. Enjoyed the video, very informative. How far of a drive to get to the beach?
About 5 min by scooter
Very nice appartment
Those bathroom sinks are so cool. I have never seen completely round before.
Pretty stylish we like them too
Beautiful apartment.
Cool! Please do. A lot of the dogs in the building go out into the courtyard at night for a doggie play date
What an amazing view! 💕
Thanks!
Great apartment. But instead of changing shower heads. Change out the doors to opposite side. Just a thought.
Worked for one of the bathrooms but the space didn’t work for the 2nd one
Am looking forward to your adventures in your new locale. My brother moved to Ecuador an owns a coffee farm there. He sold his last crop to someone in South Korea. You two would get along great with your love of coffee. His operation is called Alaska del Sur. We were down there in February and were able to roast about 40 pounds to bring back with us. He does Geisha as well as a blend of Geisha and Tipica.
Cool.
Thanks!
WOW, love the apt and views.
Very nice apartment. Hope you take us on a tour trip of Vietnam.
Thanks? Excited to show more of what life is like in Da Nang
Beautiful views and furnishing! I absolutely love hard mattresses, so vietnamese are my people! 😂
The drying rack is amazing too!
What lease term are you on? We are moving to Danang in a few weeks but thinking to get 6 months only to avoid being a tax resident 😁 even tho im not sure if they enforce it!
I was surprised how well i slept on the hard mattress. We signed a 6 month lease with an option to extend.
Hi Nala!!!
🐶
Thanks! I would call the airlines directly. We’ve learned everything is case by case and every airline, airport, and country has different rules.
@@TravelWithNala Thanks. I'm already cleared by the airlines. Just wondering about living arrangements.
Hahaha Nala made me laugh. Im the same way after a nap and someone says say hi
She’s so over it 😂
Hi David & Kim,
I recently found your vlog and new subscriber..
Nala is so beautiful 😍
Keep up the good work! 😊❤
That’s so sweet! Glad you found us. Make sure to add Da Nang to your travel list you won’t be disappointed
That’s possible but you’d be surprised how many “figure it out as you go” jobs there are here haha.
@@LuvMyCardiKids yeah there are some drawers like that here. I feel like I agreed with you but you thought I disagreed with you so took a shot at me…
Hey David, can you talk about how you plan to live in VN long term i.e visassss... are you just there on the 3 month visa and then plan to go elsewhere afterwards?
Yeah just planning on 3 months visas at a time and visiting different countries in between
You probably should drink green juices and smoothies often to detox the body.
Yes! Luckily Da Nang has so much fresh and delicious fruit freshly squeezed into juice and we’ve been indulging ourselves. These would be $10 back in LA but $1-$2 here and it’s so much better here. Amazing!
Is that the Monarchy condo ? Not many high rise on this side in between these 2 bridges
I have been keeping an eye for you two recently since I discovered your channel last week. I just started (literally, yesterday) trying to learn Hangul and Batchim. HELP!!!!
Good luck! Imo Hangul is one of the easiest languages to learn because the writing is so organized and straightforward. Kim learned to read and write in no time
@@TravelWithNala I will keep you updated on my progress 🤣
I think i might retire in Danang 😍
It really is a popular spot. Spend some time here and see if you like it. Get plugged into a community, get into a routine, and see if you could be happy here long term!
Beautiful views
How much does one of those tailored shirts from Hoi and cost?
Can the shower door swing both directions, because the shower door should be swinging outward not inward into the shower?
I flipped the seals and put the door the other way and it’s better. For the other bathroom there’s not enough space for the door to swing outwards comfortably
Just found you. I would have maintenance fix the shower because if Kim gets pregnant she won't be able to fit in there to get a shower. You would have to move.
Glad you found us. I don't think that's happening anytime soon 😂
How much was the apartment at Marriott going to cost?
At the Hilton? I think it was about 1600
Da Nang itself is a bit big Korean town. In the most restaurants most of servers are fluent in Korean..
Depends where you are. For the more touristy areas yes but not for the local areas.
Koreans disrespect Vietnamese people 😢
new subscriber here! i was also considering on moving out to Da Nang perhaps in the near future.
i was curious on what you do for work? are you currently relying on youtube content after selling everything?
i wonder if digital nomad is the way to go if moving to Da Nang or if I could find some kind of job in Da Nang when it comes to English teaching or what not.
Good to have stability and consistency and then if you want to get into freelancing or entrepreneurship or yotube or something then you can build that up over time.
nah i don't think id ever run an airbnb in VN
@@TravelWithNala thanks for the recommendation! def something to plan ahead before transitioning for stability
For a 3 bedroom?
Your wife found a job really quick. What does she do? Is it easy or difficult to find a job there? It would be good if you could do a video around this topic and the requirements.
She works for a US company that has an office in Da Nang. We don’t know much about the job market here unfortunately
Is Da Nang water chlorinated, what does it smell like? I went to Mauritius and the water smelled like algae in 5/6 places, it was so bad you had to rinse your dishes with bottled water
Not sure. But the water doesn’t smell bad here for me. I wouldn’t drink the tap water here though
@@TravelWithNala Good. Mauritius was a special case; to me water is fine every other country I've ever been so far.
are you able to please share the contact information for the leasing office? I've been looking for a furnished living space but communication has been difficult so it's so helpful to see an active example of a unit in full. the price also seems very reasonable everything considered. PLease and thank you.
whats the visa situation looking like for you?
On a 90 day visa. Planning to travel around Southeast Asia a lot of will just renew my visa while we’re out.
@@TravelWithNala how often can you do border runs as an American without them denying entry?
@@theelitelifeee there’s no limit but of course that could change. Vietnam has been planning a digital nomad visa like some of the neighboring countries but nothing yet.
@@TravelWithNala thats awesome. Congrats on the apt
Is it possible I can get the name of the building?
Be like I need a bigger bathroom. My shimmying days are over.
Yeah it's a huge oversight by the developers imo. The house is really big and there's plenty of wasted sqft. The bathroom does not need to be that small.
I live on the 11th floor and my dog has always looked out the window and watches what is happening on the street.
Cool! It’s nice that they have a lot of visual stimulation throughout the day
$1200 US Dollars A month??
American freedom dollars 💸
Our mattress was pretty stiff when we got it. It did soften after a while.
hmm I wonder if that will happen with ours. So far it's just as stiff as day 1 but we don't mind
Just visited Danang A week ago .Danang lost her soul to Koreans 😢
Depends where you go. Touristy areas are obviously going to have lots of tourists
How do you make money??
We both work
Laser printer 😂😂😂
Korea live in high rise luxury apartments
You guys are way overpaying. Đà nẵng should be much cheaper than HCM. And for 30 million in HCM you can get a lot more.
HCMC has a lot more options for high rise modern apartment options than Da Nang. But I’m not sure if get a 3BR apartment like this in HCMC for this price. I’m not as familiar with the market there. Also we can’t “get more” because it doesn’t really exist here 😂
Do they allow big dogs?
Is your girlfriend Vietnamese?
Yep
The hottest I ever was in life-Da Nang!
yeah it gets pretty hot there for sure
Tech mess. Buy a container, junk drawer. The toilet in the bathing room is not ideal. You could ask them to accommodate you with a shower curtain instead of the glass door.
U spend too much time in kitchen
Very overpriced staycation
Not a staycation this is our apartment
Looking at Vietnam and Thailand apartments it makes me realize how crappy Korean apartments are. Korean apartments are built cheap and antiquated design
There are really nice places in Korea too but there are Suuuuuper expensive. Seoul is one of the most expensive cities on this side of the world.
$1200 a night? Geez supper adorable from Venus or mars?😂
Don’t take a shit in it. U may flush away some of your coins.😂
Take magnesium supplements to help ur disgust system. Thanks 4 sharing the life of VN billionaire lifestyle.👍😵💫🫀
