10 Things I DONT LIKE About Living in Korea (as an American)
da nang is like a Korean colony now, good job guys.
congrats man! looks beautiful! how much was the house?
Who's taking care of your dog in Da Nang? :)
Me and my gf watching this together right now, its our dream to go here. Just wanted to say, this was one of the best vlogs ive seen on Tokyo,Japan. You covered everything in depth, and I like how you take the time to explain the journey, it feels like we are actually traveling with you guys. Happy for you guys and we hope to one day be able to go to Japan just like yall man, much love g
Thanks so much! Can’t wait for you to experience it in person. If you want to get to Tokyo then I know you’ll do it one day!
As an American, yeah i can agree about the police officer notion. They’re the last ones i would call if i ever need help tbh
I know this vid is relatively old but A) congrats on 13k subs! love yalls vids. B) Yall are in The Monarchy (Căn Hộ Monarchy) on the beach side but closer to the river yeah? I'm "locked in" to a 3 month lease in An Thuong a few blocks from the beach, its a great rental but the construction, karaoke and etc noise is really starting to get to me. I'm on the 5th floor. Not saying I'm right to be bothered by the noise it just is what it is. Are there high-rise / condo rentals in a relatively quiet area that are also relatively close to the beach and/or An Thuong / My An? I didn't have a ton of time to do a thorough search when I arrived, just had to like make something happen- but I see how relatively chill and nice your apartment and area is and wonder if I shoud jump ship once my lease is up
yeah definitely move out if you're not happy with with it. There's so much housing here you'll be able to find what you want. Even Monarchy which is all the way on the other side is only a 5 min scooter ride from the beach. On the beach side most of the high rises are hotels. There's not a lot of "quest area" but generally newer building have better insulation and the higher up you go the less you hear. But even living on the 24th floor, I can still hear the banh bao guy on the street.
Also if you're in an apartment and not an owner owned condo, you can try asking the front desk if you can leave early and say you're unable to sleep in the room. The people here are very accommodating and 50% change they let you leave early and refund you the remaining days.
@ Thanks! Solid advice. I haven't rented a scooter yet so I'm still thinking with "walk only / grab" mindset. Eventually I'll get a bike which I'm sure will open up my freedom of where to live Also I would still probably hear the banh bao guys at the tippy top of the marble mountains those guys are LOUD 😂
@ yeah good point- thats what I did with my first place which was ground level and far worse. I was surprised at how chill he was about it and while he didn't refund the remaining weeks (not that I expected him to) he was basically like don't pay utilities, heres your deposit and I'm sorry it didn't work out. I think its worth it to myself to see what sucking it up for the time being could be like, and figured once the lease is over if I still can't deal just move a little further out
I hope the new year has started well for you.. this was a wonderful vid.. 💮
Thank you! So far so good!
Da Nang's river is amazing by day and night.
How did you both meet? So cute together💕🙀 Do you keep track on how much you spend on Starbucks? Just curious? Any planning on Future kiddos running around?
that's a long 10 year story haha. We don't really go to starbucks much. I get it maybe once a month if i want a really strong cold brew. Kids are part of the future plan for us.
Hi, which camcorder you’ve use to vlog?
Great video! I have been a 'Digital Nomad' for the past 2 years. 1st year in SE Asia, 2nd in Central & south America. All of your points are spot on! I love this life but find we don't really socialise too much with other remote workers due to the same reasons you pointed out. I'm looking at Da Nang for a month or so in the next few months, currently in Guatemala so will be a long travel day! Researching Da Nang on youtube has shown me so many perfect 'a day in the life of' videos with huge amounts of views, all selling the perfect life. I'm able to look past that as I know it isn't all perfect, but I feel for the people that view those videos expecting that perfect life....arriving.....realising after a few weeks that it's not a turn up at a beach and set up your laptop every day thing! Thanks for an honest video. 👍
Da nang is pretty great. It’s not “the cheapest place in the world” like the RUclips vids say but still great
Hi David, I saw you in a video with social Samy where you were wearing a fisher hat / cap with wind shield. Did you get it here in da nang or somewhere else? I’d like to have one like that. Thank you!
You can get them pretty much anywhere. Mine is from Nike got it in Korea. Just make sure it’s a UV protection material
No wait I lied. Mines from northface in Korea
Thank you!
I love watching your content on RUclips because you don't want to meet me anymore, hahaha... See you next time, David! :D
😂😂😂
Yeah... Nomadic life in general is tricky. We agree that it can definitely be isolating, and tough to meet people a lot of the time. BUT! Being digital nomads, we can hit the web and find gatherings and communities that are all over the world! We just had an impromptu 4 day group camping sesh with strangers turned good friends!
Can you guys do a video of how you flew Nala to Korea and then to Vietnam?
Wait " a mansion in this areas ( Da Nang are $20 millions USD " ??? WOW really !!!
As an American watching your videos for the first time, I’m finding the negativity a bit off-putting. There seems to be a lot of complaining.
This video was over a year ago. Since then the channel has gotten a lot more honest and blunt. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but there are people who appreciate it. Not every channel is for everyone.
Happy Lunar New Year! 🎉 🪱 I haven’t heard about any Wedding plans lately. Have you set a date? Looking forward to your new posts this year! ❤
Happy New year! Haha is that a snake 🐍? Kim is cooking with the plans. I’m just chillin
perfect couple vlog❤
Thanks!
You guys already knew you were going back to Japan. We got the bug in 2016 and have gone every year except during the pandemic. Went twice last year from CA. Going in May, we used to like Korea but we enjoy Japan more.
I think at least once a year is a pretty plausible rate for us too
Usually from December 28 to January 4, the government and large corporations' shutdown for New Years.
That makes sense. It was actually pretty cool seeing the whole area completely empty
10:55 in Tottori I bought a fountain pen that was double the price, it's a unique design Hakase fountain pen that I only use on important handwriting signatures🤭
😂 as long as it feels special and makes you happy I guess that’s what matters
@TravelWithNala I apologize if it sounded cocky lol, wasn't intention🤦 Thought I'd share a unique souvenir or gift idea to grab from Japan.
@@yamuiemata no not at all! It’s cool seeing the best of the best in any category. I always appreciate craftsmanship even if it’s for something as simple as a pen
Dope
Thanks 🙏🏼
Kim’s camera is cute. What type of camera is that? I want one. Also, love all your videos. You are so descriptive and give good advice. I can’t wait to travel someday and see the areas you have shown.
Thanks! That’s the fijifilm x100v
Hot fridge😂😂
hot…. Box…? 🤔
wow didnt expect tokyo to have so many lines
It’s a super dense city and there’s so many popular spots. At first I thought it was all tourists but some places like the other 2 lines were all locals
@@TravelWithNala always a good sign to see a line outside a restaurant anywhere in the world!
I like watching you guys.I was just wondering what you do for income ?
We both work in tech
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
After midnight the city will completely change because there are so many drunken people it’s fun to see after midnight
Haha yeah the clubs and bars in Shibuya and Shinjuku are insane. We always end the night walking to our hotel in Shibuya so we witness it all
Ahhh you guys played Pachinko this is rare for tourists 😂they sometime watch but not playing 😂
I understand why now 😂😂 the money disappeared so fast we didn’t even feel like we played lmfao
I don’t do it because it’s freaking loud as fuck inside
You guys have been eating some of the best-looking foods. And the places are just beautiful. Lol, even shrines have gift shops.
Haha gotta sell those magnets and shot glasses somehow.
the food in japan is sooo good....
Seriously everything we ate in Tokyo was some of the best food we’ve ever had anywhere
It's a David and Kim vlog day! Ok, that breakfast looked delicious. Thank you for the vlog 💜
Hey! Yeah it was really great. I’m sure there are places that are solid without the line but it was still a great experience
So the fridge situation is due to the tap water and well the ice made form said water not being same to drink. I’m sure you’ve noticed yet, even locals will not drink any water or consume ice made from tap water.
I wouldn't pay extra for a view of a brown river. Ugh, that looks dirty LOL
Rivers are usually muddy after a storm
thanks for the perspective, looks more fun than I though, def bring kids next time :)
Gotta make the kids first 😬
Hi, please let us know the Hotel you stayed at. Thank youuu
Altera Suites
We’re here visiting da nang for our wedding, watching your videos beforehand has made us so excited to be here!
I hate coffee so I miss out on the coffee "culture" | guess. It is but if these cafes would just serve a POT of tea, and not just cups of tea like they did 100 years ago, then you could enjoy yourself more as a pot of tea is comparable to a cup of coffee. But a cup of tea is not.
Actually a lot of younger Vietnamese don’t drink much coffee either. Almost every cafe here has a variety of drinks. I’d actually say most have coffee as a small corner of the menu. People here like tea, fresh fruit juice, smoothies, matcha etc.
Completely wrong. This video is just gratuitous bashing of digital nomads. I’m not one myself, but I’ve met plenty (I live in an area where many of you come). Sure, there are a few scammers, but the vast majority simply want to avoid the traditional 9-to-5 lifestyle and work independently. And as for the ‘beach’ stereotype totally false. Most of them do work from the beach, and I see it every day, bro 😂.
“Most of them do work from the beach” that’s a wild claim
There’s a crazy lady in D1 HCMC that has 6-8 dogs that are crazy, she lets them out if you disturb her and they will kind of attack you… 21 Mai Thị Lựu, Đa Kao, Quận 1, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam. Damn that lady.
Came home at 3 am and I had my dog with me and they had “word”, she got mad that I accidently work her up, police said she’s crazy leave her alone!
i like your philosophy
Best to rent and keep your savings, investments in your home country
Boring crap
Thanks for watching and commenting for the Yt algorithm
Can't believe you guys went to Matcha Tokyo and Gyukatsu. We went there last year. Your video brought back some wonderful memory for me. We also went to Mipig cafe but it was the one at Kamakura. It was definitely less chaotic than the one at Takeshita street. I guess the crowd is part of the experience in Tokyo. Looks like you guys had a great time. You guys will need to go back to Japan in the near future. There are so many places to visit.
Nice! We have to go back for other cities like Kyoto and Osaka for sure
Love these vids.. except for one thing.. you guys are making me Hungry! 😁 Can't wait for the next vid.. Have fun you2!
Haha the food in Japan is seriously so good. From meals to snacks to drinks
You guys have such a good time everywhere you go. It's fun to watch your excitement. Thanks for sharing your Japan with us😊
Thanks! We love traveling. New worlds and new cultures are always exciting
The S.Ride car....can a wheelchair go straight in? 🤔
The seats dont go down but theoretically if you took out all the seats and had a small ramp i think you easily could.
Oh shit, tipping culture disease @9:15 spreads to Japan.
uh oh! Might just be because it's the touristy street in Harajuku
What was the name of the hair chopsticks store... I'd like to go myself?🙂
I found it on google maps this is the name 原宿北斎グラフィック/かんざし屋. Just type it into google maps and hopefully it shows up. It's in Harajuku
