      Some time in the future, Juji masters the mindset to a degree that he can lift so heavy that he travels through time. Juji from 2031 decided to come back to 2021 to help present Juji achieve the mastery of the mindset even earlier in order to change history and prevent something in 2025 or something.

      @@xinsanedefeatx Forgot about his 4 or so year run (i dont follow equipped and he barely competed raw) and his short lived squat record, his "retirement" was far more recent than any meets. I respect Chris, but I really wish he didn't spend his strongest years lifting chasing goofy gym lifts using specialty bars wraps up his thighs and whatnot and actually put some of it on the platform. Measuring gym lifts with all sorts of extenuating circumstances vs numbers on the platform is just silly.

    • @willcresson8776
      @willcresson8776 2 года назад +3

      @@brandoncheek2597 He still has the fifth best raw with wraps squat for the 220s in the world, and was number three for a long time. He set that record seven years ago, and hasn't competed in over five years. He retired to do his "grand goals" because he was bored competing and starting to wear out.
      You should check out his openpl entry, it's pretty impressive given when he was competing and his weight class. He was one of the best of the best for fifteen years, during the peak of multi-ply in the early to mid 2000s. Also, just because you don't follow equipped doesn't invalidate what he achieved as an equipped lifter.

    Ya know, his philosophy about doing things that are interesting is so true. What inspired me to get back into heavy weight training are deadlifts, but I'm finding it hard to stay motivated when I have this itching feeling that I need to also be doing squats, bench, rows, etc. I think I'm going to try scrapping it all and focusing just on deadlifts for a few weeks.

    • @populer208
      @populer208 2 года назад

      Play with some cable machines, make up some new movements, have fun! You can be way more creative than squat, bench, rows. Try dumbbell snatches, do some atg split squats, do some rows on a belt squat. I even made up a cross between a good morning and rdl: it's a normal rdl, but with the mindset of "push the hips back as far as you can" from good mornings.

    • @JaredTG.
      @JaredTG. 2 года назад

      Yea I feel the same way. Deadlift motivates me, everything else I have a hard time. Sometimes I do the other stuff, sometimes I dont. I love training legs but I don't have any equipment, and hate squats. So not having an actual gym membership is part of my problem. Idk if that relates to your situation or not. I just have a bench, bar, 450lb of plates and a cable stack.

    • @buck_X
      @buck_X 2 года назад +1

      @@JaredTG. I feel you on lack of leg diversity/isolation, but you still have some good options like SLDLs, lunges, and nordic curls that don't take much more than a bar. If your cable stack has a low attachment, you could pick up some ankle cuffs and do lying leg curls from the ground, or even grab a belt and see if belt squats are more fun for you. More often than not, specialized equipment doesn't enable new movements, it just makes them less janky.

    I'm astonished for a big guy like juji is today is still flexibles as ever! But I'm glad to see who Chris Duffin is and to see his crazy work ethic on lifting heavy things 💪❣️

      Flexibility is good, no problem with that. Age doesn't seem to affect it negatively for me. Speed and acrobatics on the other hand... MUCH harder past mid twenties.
