I sometimes watch this video just so I can see Ty's face.....miss him every single day and can't wait to have his arms around me again...Can't believe it has been two years (Oct. 20th) since he passed. I love you son and thank you for loving me back. Mamma
It's such a shame he had to leave us at such a young age, that drug is truly an epidemic with not many places to get help and it's easy to fall down that rabbit hole and get dependent on them for dealing with whatever things in life you don't want to and eventually it leads into needing it just to function. He has helped many people though which is more than a lot of us can say. I know he helped me during a real shitty time in my life during my high school years when they ('04-'09). They introduced me to a whole 'nother genera of music I never realized was out there and will always be my favorite band because of that. I was so crushed when I heard the news because it was literally a few days after I found out he was in a new band (Coma Prevail).
Lisa Stevens He will always be missed and remembered by everyone who had known him and heard his music, such sad to know he's gone especially where he could've gotten so far with success. R.I.P ❤️
I had the absolute pleasure of teaching two of the boys in this band. Tyson and Justin were in my 7th grade English class about 21 years ago, and they were such pleasures to have around. They were both witty, smart, respectful, fun loving, and kind. My heart aches about Tyson's passing. He had the whole world in his hands. RIP, sweet soul. 💜 Glad to see Justin is still pursing his music and carrying on. So proud of these boys.
And you still remember my Tyson boy! He’s kinda unforgettable! Thank you for your kind words about my son. I love coming on this site occasionally and reading the posts. Thank you for teaching him and Justin too. I’m glad Justin is still involved in music, he’s a great kid,(I mean man, haha) they will always be kids to me. Pueon and Chad are still making music as SKSK!
I grew up on the same street as Tyson, we went to Highland together. I remember hanging out at Freestone skatepark all the time. I swear,if you were in highschool or middle school around his time, mid-late 2000's, you undoubtably knew of sksk. No more skating for me dude, but here i am, in 2019, still listening to Faces and My Darkest Hour almost every day. RIP my dude, btw, i still have your invader zim beanie you left in my moms durango, from the last time she drove us to the skatepark :/
Save that. Don't ever sell it for money cause that's a something you have of his that will always mean something to you. Pretty awesome you have something of his!
seriously, the best meet & greet and show I've been to yet. Saw live in March 2022 and they were so cool and fun. Took their time with the meet & greet, signed everything, and then jumped in the crowd and came to play next to us during this song
So interesting to hear you say that. I saw them in either 07 or 08 and it was the exact same experience. They were all super nice, and Tyson the most of all. They were all absolutely beat, but he came to hang out with the whole crowd after the show and talked with every single person who wanted to meet him. Still stands out as one of my most memorable show experiences.
In 2007, Me and three of my friends went to see SKSK with Haste the Day, Gwen Stacy, and Drop Dead Gorgeous in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Emerson Theater. After the show, SKSK invited us onto their tour bus. We smoked a joint or two and hung out. Regardless of what anyone says about Tyson, he was an amazing person. I had never even heard of this band. I was there to see Gwen Stacy and Haste the Day. However, after hanging out with these guys, I gained a tremendous respect for them as people, not only musicians. We were four kids. They treated us as though we were friends. They didn't know us. They are all amazing. When I heard about Tyson's death, I teared up. I became a fan of this band after I hung out with them. They are great dudes. They treated me like I was their friend, and I had never heard of them before that night. I will never forget the time I spent hanging out and playing Xbox on their bus. It was a blast. RIP Tyson, and this band, you truly made an impact on my life, and I thank you for it.
awesome story man, I remember those days... SKSK was the first "show' I went to when I was a freshman at the Buffalo Icon before it closed and they were stuck playing at the indoor skate park venue Xtreme Wheelz forever after lol. But that first show they were the main act and I was so damn thrilled to finally see them live after obsessing over them the previous year I got into them lol. The opening bands were Pierce the Veil, The Dear Hunter, Boys Night Out, then SKSK in that order. Then once they started playing at XWheelz and I seen them with countless other bands over my high school career, one of the biggest bands they introduced me to was Haste The Day (oh and Drop Dead, Gorgeous lol), I remember that tour like it was yesterday, the SKSK vs. HTD tour, it was one of the craziest shows I've ever been to (it was hands down at that point for sure lol). I remember before the first bands started to even set up, there was a flat pad to skate on in front of the stage where you could practice flat land skating (as long as a show wasn't going on of course lol), but as I was chilling there waiting hours in advanced (skating to kill the time) I remember one of the guitarist (Chad) pulled out his board after carrying his gear to stage side and started to chill with me for the hour or so until people started to come pouring in. Got to play SKATE with him and everything and talk about music/guitar (I was a pretty green guitarist at the time but I remember him telling me he was into the same groups I was in to for their guitar work and always thought how [obvious of course] but cool it was that we connected like that). Before Chad started to skate with me, him and Steve were setting up some gear and practicing on stage since it was still crazy early and I kept picking out a lot of the songs they were practicing together (not their own material of course). I remember telling Chad I was a current n00b at guitar but noticed them playing a certain song that I actually had down fairly good and would've loved to have been able to practice/jam with him also lol. If I recall correctly the song was BFMV's "Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow" and while we were skating Chad was just like, should've said something man, I wouldn't pulled out another guitar for ya for a while! He ended up giving me his pick at the end of the show and I still have it to this day (corny I know lol) but that had to have been like 2008-2009 when I was a Junior or Senior in HS. Damn time flies...
As weird as it seems, Tyson and and I were in the same boyscout troop when we were kids and when we were older kids we did heroin together. He had the heart of a saint.
His lyrics became almost prophetic n he definitely had a good idea of what was to come especially after 9/11. Great band and great music they produced in just the time when the world was changing for the worse, almost like Tyson knew the future n what was to come after he was no longer with us sadly.😥
I never liked this style of music until my boyfriend introduced me to this band. I fell in love with this band instantly, and I listen to their songs on repeat everyday. The songs are perfectly constructed, and the lead vocalist is truly talented. I've never heard a voice like his and that drew me in to loving this genre completely. I'm not a fan of really anything but dang was this gut wrenching reading the comments and finding out of his passing. Thank you for what you have gifted us, you will always live on in our hearts!
*Dear Tyson*, First and foremost RIP, second, though I haven't listened to SKSK in some time now... I never forgot any of the songs. I am glad that I got the chance to see you at Warped Tour 09'. I grew up with many different types of music, but anything related to the Rock, Metal, Alternative, Punk, Screamo, and others like that is what strongly influenced my teenage years. RIP Tyson Stevens, and thank you, and SKSK for your music.
Post hardcore really had some of the sickest guitar riffs and talented guitarists…. Funeral for a friend is hard af, these guys are damn good. Stumbled on the apocalypse and would say they’re the best riffs both post hardcore/metalcore
13 YO me bought this album thinking the cover looked cool and it was a pleasant surprise as I didn't know who the band was or what genre they even were. Kids now won't know the joy in that....I miss those days.
To my little group of misfits... it's been over 10 years now at this point. We used to blare the hell out of this song in the car every day till sunset, air tasting sweeter than ever. Amazing band who resonated so deeply to me. This sound defined our teenage selves. We haven't seen much of each other since those days, the undermanned brigade, hope all is well, I made something of myself, dont worry. but you ever find this, just remember the sunsets. They were beautiful.
My favorite record in the whole world, is this SCSC self titled album. Nearly flawless. Not a single weak song. I'm not even that much of an album listener, but this record is an exception. I've listened to it in full so many times.
Miss this band soo much. Never got to see them live, herd they were amazing live. Remember hearing their first single "The world as we know it" back when I was like 16(13 years ago). Changed my ears for sure. RIP bro.
i grew up with this band. i was completely obsessed with them my freshmen year of high school,i knew every lyric to every song, had every thing they ever made. the first time i ever stepped foot into a hot topic was to buy a shirt with there name on it,and the summer of 07 they put on a free show at katy mills mall in houston,Tx. for the zumiez couch tour and i died. when they started to play degenerates i ran into the crowed! they were the band that started it all for me. made me who i am today
THE ZUMIEZ COUCH TOUR, oh my god thank you for reminding me what that tour was! I saw them on another stop of that tour and I’m so grateful I got to have that experience.
I was just missing my Tyson and so sometimes I just listen to his music and videos. I am amazed at the impact that he had on so many lives through his music. To some of his fans that knew him personally, you were blessed to know him! He had his struggles but I know that his heart was so good! Thank you to all who remember him and love him. I know that Chad and Pouyan are working on some music and signed with Velociy records. I’m excited that they are keeping this music alive! We all love and miss you Ty. Until we meet again son, I’m so glad that I get to be your mamma FOREVER 💗
@@WinterSolstice144 I’m so touched to know that Ty’s music saved your life! I’m not sure if you mean that literally but I hope all is well with you and that you are living your best life!❤️
First time I seen SKSK live they were on a side stage at warped tour back in like 08-09 and holy hell Tyson did a back flip off the kick drum and landed perfectly lol.
and now here i am a college student and if it werent for this band right here who knows what kind of person i would be right now. Scary Kids Scaring Kids i will always love you and your music, its there for me through good and bad times. im glad i was honored with your presence i wish i could have gone to the farwell tour.
there will always be a void in my heart, Mr. Stevens sung words of truth and loneliness this will forever be my favorite collective of individuals their songs resonate through me like a breath of sunshine
Im going down a music binge of songs I used to listen to in high school. It makes me so sad to remember that I had the opportunity to see this band play on multiple occasions and I always brushed it off and said “next time”. The day of their farewell tour I couldn’t go see them because I was out of the state...one of my biggest regrets ever. Ive been to over 200 shows and yet this is one of those few bands I’ll never be able to see perform... Always makes me wonder what would’ve happened if they stayed together and were making music now days... 😕 Ty, your voice and your talent will always be really special to me. Here I am 10 years after this song was released still listening to it, appreciating it like if it was brand new. Great music never dies, and your memory will live on forever in everyone of us who you reached with your lyrics and your voice. Strange feeling mourning for a person you never knew. The power of music. Thank you Ty, RIP
DAMMIT! I just found out about this band from doing this random playlist thing on spotify for Game of Thrones. I instantly loved what I heard. Then I look them up and not only do I see that the group broke up, but the lead singer passed away as well! :( What a shame. Rest in Peace Tyson. Glad you guys left this great album that's been on repeat all day.
Damn after all these years since high school I'm just finding out they're from Arizona lol. You get to see them at local shows right before they got signed?
Gilbert was the bands home and they started out practicing in our garage. Miss seeing my son’s talent grow so quickly in his musical abilities. From guitar, drums, and especially his lyrics and vocals. He had very few lessons in guitar and just picked it up on his own! Love and miss my son but it warms my heart to know that he and his music brought so much joy into the lives of his fans!
Ive been listening to SkSk every day for six years now. Theyve become a part of my daily routine. Even though they broke up, they still remained one of my favorite bands. Always will be. I cant even believe Tyson is gone... This sucks....
Play This Song At The United Center For The Chicago Blackhawks Game In Chicago Illinois Because This Is Chicago Blackhawks Music and On Rock 95.5 Chicago
yea me too :p it just suprises me how much I've changed since then. I still like this music genre, but I think I've 'calmed down' a lot more since then :p I remember being in the moshpit during one of their concerts, and last week I went to the opera XD
Inge Gierts It's like you read my mind. I will always love metal and most of the genres close to it, but as i get older i find myself enjoying much more relaxing music. Funny isn't it?
tsljr yea it is :p Maybe it's bc as a younger kid, you're trying to find that one genre you really love, to find the 'community' you belong to? a metalhead, punk chick, rocker, mainstream...Idk :p I remember wearing band shirts, having crazy colors in my hear, studded wristbands...people change I guess ^^
This might sound cliche... But shit; these guys have helped me through a lot. Mostly into hardcore punk, but this music helped me through some severe depression, and I even went and saw them on their farewell tour in Australia. R.I.P. SCSC,
Someday your legend will become a myth. You won't ever be forgotten Tyson. You saved lives out there litterly even if your not here I can feel you buddy. Thx
OMG Tyson died?! I remember seeing them at Warped Tour and falling in love with their music and being so upset when they broke up..... Didn't follow up on them and this happens?! Devastated :(
Saw them live January 14th. Something I'd never thought would happen! They had Cove Reber cover the vocals. What a show! Did Tyson justice! They performed the tribute song as well! It was awesome!
lets tear away these faces we hide behinddd, cutting threw the airwaysss, open up our minds, show ourselves to the world tonighttt, cuz we are no longer in disguise
Holy crap I was so far behind the 8-ball on this band. I'd never even heard of them until early 2012 when I used to listen to Dallas/Forth Worth's 102.1 The Edge, on my phone's iheartradio app on the bus when going to work. I was kind of out of it, staring at the world outside the window and this song came on, eliciting a reaction of "Wait, what's this now...?" Then I had to spend the rest of the day at work, dying to get off so that I could go and buy the album.
Yo I know I’m pretty young (22) but I wish these guys still played and ty was alive, his vocals are amazing everything about this band is amazing and I’ve only wish to see them live, to bad I won’t but their music... their music is a truly beautiful.

there will always be a void in my heart, Mr. Stevens sung words of truth and loneliness this will forever be my favorite collective of individuals their songs resonate through me like a breath of sunshine
yeah true
+Genshin Nomura So sad, I didn't even know about his death until recently thinking about this band from my childhood
Ty, your voice and your talent will always be really special to me.
Tantos años escuchando a SKSK y jamás los dejaré de escuchar, Tyson gracias por todo!
I hope you guys enjoy the comeback. You guys sound great and it's so nice to see you guys again. I've been a fan since 2007. Please tour more!! 🙏
A flower for Tyson 🌹🕊
R.I.P Tyson Stevens Vocalist of Scary Kids Scaring Kids and Coma Prevail. You're voice will live on. Much love.
Man, it's been tooo long since I've heard them and I went to their show!! I remember when they were first coming around.. love from ARIZONA!!!🤙❤
19 listening to this “You dream of wars I refuse to fight” is just favorite part
RIP Tyson, I'll never forget growing up in Gilbert Arizona and I'll never forget you either dawg
Damn after all these years since high school I'm just finding out they're from Arizona lol. You get to see them at local shows right before they got signed?
@@DevinsDen ya i seen them when they first got together watched em practice, them were the homies
@lisagroesbeck5135 I grew up next to Gilbert High in Val Vista Place behind the Safeway, I miss those days and Tyson and all the homies
Still listening in 2019. ❤️
Idiot nobody is listening to this in 2019
Evangelista Steopic I am 🤷🏻♀️ why hate? This is a place of loving remembrance.
Still in 2020
I do. I always do Tyson was an amazing artist.
🙌🏽
Ive been listening to SkSk every day for six years now. Theyve become a part of my daily routine. Even though they broke up, they still remained one of my favorite bands. Always will be. I cant even believe Tyson is gone... This sucks....
Rest in Peace, Tyson. This was super unexpected and tore my heart right out of my chest.
I wish i had the chance to know them before they broke up and i would have gone to one of their concerts I LOVE THEM
I listen to a lot of different music, but even after 12 years, I still come back to Scary Kids Scaring Kids every now and then
Its 2022 and this Song is still fu**ing awesome!!
RIP Tyson and my middle school memories.

Saw them at their last showing in AZ
was soo sweet
It's been yeaaars since I listened to this :p used to be my favorite band when I was 16 :p
Th memories, I was around that age too. I miss this songs.
yea me too :p it just suprises me how much I've changed since then.
Funny isn't it?
tsljr yea it is :p Maybe it's bc as a younger kid, you're trying to find that one genre you really love, to find the 'community' you belong to? a metalhead, punk chick, rocker, mainstream...Idk :p I remember wearing band shirts, having crazy colors in my hear, studded wristbands...people change I guess ^^
then i'll definitely check out some of their newer stuff ***** ;)
I found this band from suggestions after a Fall of Troy video. Glad I did. Great music.
This might sound cliche... But shit; these guys have helped me through a lot. Mostly into hardcore punk, but this music helped me through some severe depression, and I even went and saw them on their farewell tour in Australia. R.I.P. SCSC,
Why can't I, hold all these nostalgic feels
R.I.P 2016 ;c
Still bumpin this in 2021❤️
One of my favorites bands ever! May you rest in peace Tyson.

WHY IS THIS SONG SO GODAMN GOOD????!
It makes me happy even though the lyrics are kinda sorta dark but not really, you know what I mean lol.
Devastated :(
yes he did... he was amazing as a musician and as nearly a brother
good old teenage days
rip tyson 🌹🖤
happy bday tyson. rip man love u brother
Miss You dude🙏🏻🎸💜
I cant listen to this song without getting teary eyed 😕
Maybe that was his message knowing his time with us was finite. Listening to his music with him gone makes so much more sense.
Y
Saw them live January 14th. Something I'd never thought would happen! They had Cove Reber cover the vocals. What a show! Did Tyson justice! They performed the tribute song as well! It was awesome!
Cove is the perfect person to take over vocals. Definitely not the same but would he cool to get some new material.
i love how theres 0 thumbs down for this...
this song is perfection
lets tear away these faces we hide behinddd, cutting threw the airwaysss, open up our minds, show ourselves to the world tonighttt, cuz we are no longer in disguise
This song's main riff sounds extremely similar to Firewind's song I am the anger! :D Love it!
What a voice
i love how his voice shakes
@jaimemikeyskyr24 i remember seeing you guys on the vans warped tour. one of my favorite shows EVER.
Would you agree that we're far from all right?
(We fall below the line! We fall below the standards)
If only you could see
What we see through these eyes
(This plague is spreading, it will sink under your skin)
I won't believe the horror that I see
Is more than your poison inside me
Let's tear away these faces we hide behind
Cutting through the airwaves
Open up our minds
Show ourselves to the world tonight
'Cause we are, no longer in disguise!
Well, I'm aware of your lies, how do you sleep at night?
(It's all a matter of time, I think their catching on)
You dream of wars, that I refuse to fight
(While people disappear, another broken heart)
I won't believe the horror that I see
Is more than your poison inside me
I won't let go, though the plague is spreading
I won't let go
Let's tear away these faces we hide behind
Cutting through the airwaves
Open up our minds
Show ourselves to the world tonight
'Cause we are, no longer in disguise!
We can save ourselves
(Rise up)
You can't stop us
We can save our soul
(Rise up)
We don't need your help
We can save ourselves
(Rise up)
You can't stop us
Let's tear away these faces we hide behind
Cutting through the airwaves
Open up our minds
Show ourselves to the world tonight
'Cause we are, no longer in disguise!
Tear away these faces
Tear away these faces
Tear away these faces
We're no longer in disguise!
