Randy I live in a very similar place in another part of Oklahoma. I moved here from California 18 years ago. I sold my business there and was able to take a very early retirement. It has become apparent to me some people in this area have difficulty accepting people and things outside of their “world view .” I use to ride a bike for exercise, but after being deliberately forced off the road twice and actually shot at by a passing car. I stop riding my bike. I own 5 cars and a pickup. One of those cars is a small convertible sports car. People out here react differently to that car. They tailgate me, they’ll cut in front of me, they give me the finger, and try to crowd me off the road. It’s not because of the way I’m driving because these things don’t happen in my other vehicles. I’ve got neighbors out here that love that little car and want to ride in it whenever they can. Ninety nine percent of the people out here are great, there just seem to be about one percent, or so that can’t help being assholes.
I salute you sir. You have more restraint than I do. Had it been me this fire chief would have been explaining his behavior to a judge. You don't get to play gatekeeper on a public road and you don't have a legal right to throw rocks at passing vehicles.

I am 65 and one thing I have learned living in over 5 cities is there is always at least one crazy neighbor, and the one thing you said that stood out to me is Volunteer fire Department.

Hey Randy I respect how adult you are about this whole situation and yes I live 4000 miles away or whatever it is but here in the small town I live in in England it's pretty much the same kinda thing with assholes racing up the street and people freaking out over it and I had a Vauxhall (GM) Astra with a 3inch straight through stainless exhaust on it and it was effing loud (I bought it that way) I had people hurling abuse at me and blaming me for all sorts of crap that I hadn't done (I put a silencer on it after a weeks ownership) so I know how frustrating it is when people assume , I have watched you for years and love the channel . all the best Paul .

My elderly neighbor went off on me (for political reasons) when he found out I did not vote for the person he and his wife supported. YIKES, I thought he and his wife were going to have a heart attack. Retired school teachers who were well respected made complete fools of themselves and many heard the argument. My response to him was never to talk to me again. I had helped him with his yard numerous times even though I knew who he supported and did not care. Neither tried apologizing and told other neighbors I was what is wrong with America. The funny thing is the neighbors agree politically with me. They just assumed we all thought alike.
That may not work if there is rampant nepotism going on between the fire department and the Mayors office. It may or may not extend to the police department -- if it does the police won't take any action unless ordered by the county? District Attorney.
Pressing charges would only make it worse. Randy not pressing charges was the right thing to do at first. There may be a time he needs to but for now it isnt.

On the one hand, him being a firefighter and councilman may give him a little more "pull" in town. On the other hand, the risk of losing either of his positions may make him more vulnerable. If you don't already have, you might consider a motion activated camera or two on your property, in case anyone wants some trouble. I'd hate to see any of your everchanging interesting fleet get vandalized in any way. Keep up the fun and interesting videos. Your variety of vehicles is one of your strengths, don't give that up. I had a fireman throw his fire helmet thru the windshield of my semi. He accused me of speeding but I had dash cam to proove that I wasn’t. He got 2 years probation and paid out several thousand dollars
My two cents worth, these small "towns" are usually influenced by a small few people, they are your neighbors whether you like it or not. I would just go talk to the guy and clear the air!! These guys can make your life miserable, they can change anything to get you to leave!! Personally, keep the cars out front to as minumal as possible, keep them as clean as you can, so they are NOT an "eyesore" for any town person can complain about it. Keep your "work" hours to not go late into the night and should be the same for any test drives, I can only imagine how quiet it is at night and ANY car going up and down the road could piss someone off. He should NOT have thrown anything at you...for sure!!! Just watch what you do and say, these town people have more pwer than you think!!! Keep up the great content...alwys enjoy it!!!

Randy you should ask the mayor to see if they can close the main road down for a weekend and use it for a drag strip. Invite over some top fuel legends like John Force....LOL! Maybe use some of the farm land for some vendors to come in and setup some fair rides for kids and a car show, it be a good ole time!

I grew up in byars and still have property there in johnsonville. Love my town. I live in okc now but travel down to mow and stuff. He really is a good man. Not making an excuse for what he did, just speaking about the man I grew up to know. Love the videos.

I agree about what you said about your point on respect, if somebody walks up to you, and immediately starts screaming and shouting, because of what they think, then, I think that gives anybody the right to not respect them especially if you just met the person for the first time, it sounds to me like that man just wanted to hear what he had to say and didn’t care about what you had to say back at all, It’s just pathetic. I’m glad that you have the patience for those types of people, even when you stopped to talk to him in your video, you focused more on confronting the man on his actions, and not just screaming back at him.

I completely agree with you! We are grown men and I don’t want a bunch of drama around me either. I would say go down and talk to the man just to get things clear but he’s a 60 year old throwing things at peoples cars…lots of entitlement there. I grew up in byars and still have property there in johnsonville. Love my town. I live in okc now but travel down to mow and stuff. He really is a good man. Not making an excuse for what he did, just speaking about the man I grew up to know. Love the videos.
