    The propellant force in sprinting doesn't come from landing the foot and then pushing off of it. That is long distance running. In sprinting the force that pushes forward is the hammering force exerted on the ground as the foot comes down from a high position. Ground contact should be forceful and short. If you hit the ground with such force and your body doesn't yield to it by moving forward, then your joints will have to take the impact. Important to land underneath your CM
