OMG, everywhere I looked it stated to change from S Mode. Well, I wasn't in S Mode, so frustrated, I turned to RUclips and found this video immediately. I was into it for about 19 seconds and saw "Choose where to get apps" BINGO, it had switched over (probably after an update) to Microsoft Store ONLY. Thank you, Guru. Knew I should have gone directly to RUclips the first search.

It's all about disabling the "S Mode" first, then this option appears, this is important
THANK YOU for this tip. For the past 24 hours I have been frustrated with Win11, which wouldn't allow me to install non-Microsoft Store apps, like Chrome and Acrobat. The trick is switching out of S Mode. Thank you again.

you may try going to Settings -> Apps -> Advanced App Settings -> choose where to get apps..

Why am I not seeing this option on my end??? The first one I see is "Share across devices."
and you can't disable "s mode" without opening the microsoft app store. I get "you'll need a new app to open this ms-windows-store link." when I try to open store.

in the dutch version from hp win 11 you have to download an app to disabe smode

Unfortunately, I still can't install the ID app. The icon appears on a fast boot platform but when it is pressed on it, the application is constantly loaded and so on. Does anyone know what the problem is?

If it doesn’t work just pick a different setting and then change it again to (anywhere) again . That is what I did to make it work.
This is only possible if you don't have "S" version of operating system and that you can check if you push "Start" and write "winver" and push enter

But in updated windows11, there is no option like that.
For updated windows 11 pc,
Settings >> apps>> advanced settings >> there will be a bar at the top of the page.

you may have to go to "smart app control" setting and turn it off - settings>privacy&security>app&browsercontrol>smart app control settings. or just search it in the windows search bar.
Just got mine yesterday. Spent 400 on it just to play my Sims game. I severely dissatisfied and disappointed. I'm so unhappy and feel like I wasted my hard earned money. And I did.

Finally got windows 11 from ikeyzone
I like some of the transitions, but sometimes they're a bit too much and are seemingly random. Since we use these persistent elements that transition across pages to indicate some kind of relationship between the previous and the next states, some of your transitions confuse me because I can't immediately see what the relationship is.
For example 2:23 of the selectable tiles (which weren't selected) transition into being two switches... does that mean anything? are they related in some way? I see this as random and a bad use of the design language. However, at 1:14 I like the transition from switches to the ticks on a paper, that makes sense to me. Epic presentation tho
If you watched this and don't have "Apps and Features" as an option: go to Apps > Advanced app settings > Choose where to get apps > Anywhere
