It's interesting, but I'm really against recanonization for its own sake, particularly when coming without narrative reasons. Also give the empire to much diversity and they kind of loose their faction identity.
I got excited when I saw that mystery MC ship, I thought for a minute the MC80B had gotten re-Canonized.

True but the way they made the interdiction field work in Rebels was a mess, all I could think is that it showed us that interdictors would be useless to prevent a 'Holdo maneuver'...

basically everything that's in fantasy flights star wars armada would be awesome to see in squadrons the mc-30 missile frigates would be nice to have instead of a nebulon b here and there but my favourite ship is the quasar and I hope we can support/destroy a few of them in the campaign or multiplayer

Well, we've already see an XQ series platform and the return of the BFF-1 Bulk Freighter in Squadrons - both introduced in the X-Wing series and not really seen since - so it would be no surprise at all if there's more easter egg ships on display for hardcore fans (during the campaign at least).
Honestly it would be cool to see a Venator or Aclamator II in the game as transports for the Empire. Since the Empire is fracture and aren’t rally building many ships, they are going to use everything they got including old Clone Wars ships
For the Empire, it'd be cool to see the Victory I and II, and the Interdictor from Rebels, as escorts for bigger ships and objectives to disable, respectively.
For the Alliance, maybe some Separatist ships? Like Hera's Lucrehulk. Or Assault Frigates II. Or even captured Imperial ships.
Well...I would like to see the Resurgence SD. They would be terrifying!
Given how early after Ep. VI the game is set, I think that's unlikely, that is, unless you're referring to adding in more eras like the Prequels and Sequels which I would 100% be down for.

No, the XG-1 Assault Gunboat. It would fill a role the Imperials presently half-arse with the Reaper. The B-Wing offers less direct advantages over the Y-Wing, role-wise.

They really need to bring back the lancer so there is a big ship that's terrifying to bombers.
try "everything smaller than a frigate"...
I think bombers are going to have a hard enough time as is.
I think that if they really want to clean the mess up record form BFII, EA should do this sort of quiz for people, to choose which next ship should be added to the game (of course if we get this content after launch)
personally, I think they can only use the MC 75 for fleet battles due to the nature of the ship's hangar: both the MC 75 and the ISD have large open hangers underneath the ship to fly into quickly to change ship or loadout. the liberties have underside hangers but they are way too hidden and small to comfortably fly an U-wing or even an Y-wing into (i actually think the y-wing might be bigger). Home one, at least from my understanding, has no underside hangar. it wouldn't be balanced for rebels to have to carefully fly into their smaller or side hangers while the empire has a giant hole to go full speed into
This trailer is the definition of a class presentation put together last minute with no thought but comes out great
Imagine a multiplayer match centered around an executor class SSD. The rebels would have to fly through the trenches of the ship to reach a critical weak point.
I’d stick the MC-30 in squadrons because I just think they’re neat.

I would like to see a Endurance-class Fleet Carrier. They looked so cool along with the Nebula-class Star Destroyer
Tbh the Overseer is probably an ISD-1 with a new ISD-2 style communications array. We know the Empire did this because the ISD Dauntless appears as an ISD-1 in Rogue One but is an ISD-2 in Battlefront 2
1:10 in episode 6 there is a scene where we see an isd 2 bridge that isn't shown in this model picture

Sorry I’m late, I was watching the Mandalorian S2 trailer...
But yea, more ships would be awesome! I’m already loving the variety of support ships and frigates on each side, but it’s a dream of mine to see a Quasar-Fire (in multiplayer), a Dreadnought-Class Frigate, a Victory Class SD, Lancer, etc. There's just so much potential for a game like this...I really want to be able to pay for more content...and eras, imagine the diversity of fleets we could see in Clone Wars, we may actually see prototype ISDs!
On the topic of the star destroyer, it may be a refit ISD1. Kinda similar to how the Devastator went through with its upgrades. It was still an ISD1, but it ended up recieving a more modern bridge array, among other things.

The New Republic is more present in that video than in the new trilogie. Star Wars Squadron looks really good.
As already mentioned, victory class would be good. Also the Immobilizer and maybe an Alliance Assault Frigate
Could they have introduced the Onager-class SD, so that it can appear in Squadrons?? 🤔
If you think about it, just like in real life, warships were modernized, so maybe some if those ISD-1s were given new technology but retained the old guns. And, at this point in the war, the Empire is desperate for ships, so they could have brought back in obsolete ISD 1s back into service.
B-wings and Tie Defenders have got to be added to this game!
I'd love one mission which is a battle against a Lucerhulk, or some other clone war era ship. That would be so cool!
I would have to say.... The Ghost. As a flyable ship perhaps, as a wingman if not.
I'd love to see a battlegroup of MC80bs, post endor legends style, maybe led by a home one, or a purpose built Moncal battlecruiser
Okay so the 8 foot star destroyer Avenger made for the empire strikes back was similar in almost every way to the old model as it was meant to represent the same ship. the one major visible difference as you mentioned was the shorter linear antenna on the top. but what they did was go back and change the antenna on the original 3 foot Devastator model to match the new one since it was still being used for filming. and the 3 foot destroyer is still like that to this day. It actually makes total sense to modify the model in this way even if it is disappointing that we probably won't be seeing the more detailed and awesome Avenger (or a cgi model based on it)
An onager class would be cool, escorting the ship for rebel base bombardment
An MC80B from legends would be cool, as it's unique tail looks so good.
I would love to see TIE Defenders in single player. It would be great to see some Z-95s too.
Any ship? The XG-1 Star Wing was always my favorite. As for capital ships, a lancer class frigate would be pretty dope.

Ecks I think there was a GR-75 in the CG short. It was visible if you look closely while the fleet approaches and passes over the TIE pilot when he is attempting to hide from them.
Edit: It's definitely there: you can first glimpse it between the MC-75 and unknown Mon Cal ship during the shot where the fleet approaches the TIE's position. The underside is also visible in the shot through the canopy of the fleet passing overhead.
Would love to see new Endurance classes for the Republic. Something other than Mon Cal's all the time
A secutor or a Venator would be cool. Especially if you could launch from their hangars.
I really want an Executor class since it has been sorely absent in modern Star Wars games (apart from cutscenes). It doesn’t have to be a regular thing, just something you see in the campaign.
Another great video, would love to see the modular taskforce cruiser make its way into squadrons. Its modular nature would enable it to be used in all kinds of missions.
I would love to see a battle later in the campaign, where the new republic has a captured ssd fight off against an imperial one, and the new rep. Has a color difference symbolizing which ssd is yours or theirs.

as for the imp 2, probably the look of the upgraded imp 1-> imp 2 varies depending on the upgrade location, star wars armada has the ISD kuat refit and the ISD cymoon refit as options in the Chimera expansion ( to run alongside, or upgrade the regular ISD I and II from the ISD expansion.)

I just want a Victory. A proper Victory in all it's classic glory on screen. I want to see a pair of them flanking an ISD.
SW Squadrons is an type of X Wing vs TIE Remake.
Maybe, just maybe, somewhere in my mind I'm hoping for the Lusankya vs another Executor SSD. Maybe not when Squadrons releases, but sometime, maybe.
I'd love to see a campaign mission where you have to take out an Interdictor-class Star Destroyer in order for your Rebel fleet to be able to escape.

Isn't that a GR-75 at 1:52 in between the MC-95 and the MC-75? I can't remember if the GR-75 was already confirmed for the game. It also looks like there might be another one other other side of the 95 in that same shot.

In the lore this is an actual thing, though. They repurposed Vader's ISD-1 into ISD-2 specifications and it's in the background of the battle of Endor, appearing to be a 2

#AskEck I have a theory as a potential for this game's potential expansion, maybe a sequel. I think this game potentially could be a test to see if there is the interest in a starfighter game, and depending on the response, EA may greenlight an expansion or sequel with larger battles with 10 vs.10 or 15 vs.15 with more ships (More ISDs/MC models) or bigger ships like the Viscount and Bellator/Mandator/Asserter ship lines. What are your thoughts?
I'm not sure that's a 95E, the upper surface is too detailed while the MC-95E's model was rather smooth on the dorsal surface. Several bulges appear to have been added.
So it might be a variant of the 95E, but it could also be an entirely new MC series ship or even a legends ship such as the original MC80a or even the MC90.
Hapan Battle Dragon: lots of empty space within the structure to fly around inside.
Make this style of game but make it during the Mandalorian Wars or the Sith Wars. The Harrower Star Destroyers are some the sexiest imo. And they could have a really nice story unconstrained by current canon.

They should have outdated and weaker cap ships, like dreadnoughts, and their fighters should mostly suck, but they get more corvette sized ships too, which also kinda suck and die easily cos they are probably just armed transports XD
