This is my favorite joe pass album- his most creative vibrant and bubbly playing of all. Amazing job and sound and technique.

Troy would have his work cut out for him, but he would also be figuratively cutting out his own heart along the way should he ever dare jump down the Matteo Mancuso rabbit hole. I would think Troy's brain has to just about melt at the mere thought of this guy. Grady is a "holy grail" seeker hoping to find the "secret" to greatness. It's a fool's errand really. And Mancuso is like a massive black hole looming too uncomfortably close to Troy's obsession. Don't get me wrong, I love Grady's work and have learned a lot from watching his OCD trips on RUclips. Yet imagine how accomplished Troy might have been had he just focused all his energy on playing "his" music "his" way instead of dissecting everybody else. We might be studying HIS playing under the microscope. But MAN!... THIS guy?.... he IS something else isn't he?
