@@Kakaidol Just received it and wow, its slightly smaller and feel lighter than the Gen 3 X1 carbon. I can see actual carbon compared to the 2nd Gen. The keys are slightly smaller and yes I think there is a some less travel for the keys. Not too much that makes me want to return it. I prefer the touch screen on my Gen 3 however. The entire front is mostly screen and the bezel is hidden behind the LCD panel. Gen 10 has a nice clover for the camera though. Gen 3 does feel more solid. But Gen 10 is so much faster. I want to put the CPU /mobo from Gen 10 to Gen 2 lol. I'll probably end up keeping it because I like Windows 11 and Gen 2 for some reason isn't compatible with the newer OS.
Let's try for a comment not in my parents' language (and without auto correction)... The last "Anniversity Edition" was such a major disappointment. The then(?) senior chief of Thinkpad design/program must have cried, because it was nothing near as expected from a more classic TP. As being discussed in the public/community for months. (AFAIR in the end it was a T-class one with "Thinkpad"-letters in retro-style, as with the current one. And they gave away some or some more for free.) FWIW, currently I use a MacBook Air M1, which I don't particularly like (as a TP fanboy), but which does a great job (coming from Linux UIs and command shells). As well as I love the the "always on"-approach, just like a phone or tablet, and the fanless design. Nonetheless, I miss the "AMD64"-world, and am tempted to get a "pro"-series Thinkpad in addition, although it would not make much sense, particularly not another "Ultrabook"-class device. ;(
Not all Lenovos or Dells are the same; take for example a T14s or a latitude with a U-series processor and you won't have any temperature issues. We cannot expect a 1.3cm thin laptop to use a 28w processor (>65w on peak load) while remaining cool. Simple physics.
@@markm0000 agree, I have an Air and a 6th gen. I much prefer the carbon as it is lighter and more sturdy. It is far less likely to slip out of the hand. Yes, the Carbon is a finger print magnet but I prefer a functioning laptop over a damaged one.
@@slam5 I wasn’t going to say it here, but I have a ol’ faithful ‘17 Air 13” i7 solely for the reason parts and schematics are readily available to keep it going way after all these other laptops are in the landfill. On top of that, the old school keyboard is a dream to type on with a butter smooth glass trackpad. Battery life is excellent for light duty tasks and it is extremely reliable. I don’t think I’ll be buying another x86 laptop after this one. I am waiting for the Apple m3 to upgrade and that hardware should be mature enough to have support well into the future. Seeing how there’s a Linux distro for m1, I am now very confident in the future of Apple silicon.

I bought a Lenovo x1 carbon gen 9 a year ago. It has been the worst computer I have ever owned. I up specced it with 32gb ram and 512gb ssd. It cost me almost $3,000 AUD. I will never buy another lenovo again. Battery life sucks and performance is terrible. Lenovo support weren't much help, either. I barely get 4 hours battery life, so I can only imagine how bad this version will be with a P series chip. My next computer will be either a Dell or HP as the the ones I have bought in the past have been great.
Same here. Top-end X1 Yoga. Had to switch since HP refuses to sell the X360 in 16:10. 🤬
To me Lenovo as a company is dead, they’re soldering RAM across SKU’s. They’re literally selling laptops with 4Gb of RAM soldered, that is e-waste.
Think it's time for me to upgrade. I still have the 2nd Gen but it still running strong and looks brand new still
You gotta hear this. I came from a T420 and am currently using a X1C5. I went to see the X1C10 and other current Thinkpad models. Gosh, the keyboard has changed a lot, for the worse. The key travel has reduced from 1.8mm to 1.5mm since X1G7 and the key caps are now shorter and flatter. Thinkpads are known for their keyboard and I am giving them a 0/10 now for it. Don’t think I’ll upgrade to a Thinkpad anymore bcoz of this. I’ll stick with my X1C5.
@Kakaidol I already ordered. I cam always return it.
My Gen 2 seems to be lagging
@@HiddenAgendas well try it first and let me know if u like it. i hated it when i tried it. doesn't feel like a Thinkpad keyboard to me anymore.
And they gave away some or some more for free.)
FWIW, currently I use a MacBook Air M1, which I don't particularly like (as a TP fanboy), but which does a great job (coming from Linux UIs and command shells). As well as I love the the "always on"-approach, just like a phone or tablet, and the fanless design. Nonetheless, I miss the "AMD64"-world, and am tempted to get a "pro"-series Thinkpad in addition, although it would not make much sense, particularly not another "Ultrabook"-class device. ;(
why do they make it so boring. the screen should go to the edges. it looks so outdated
Windows laptops are just so far behind macbooks at this point, I don't even get excited for releases anymore :(
I can't describe how much I love this song. This is a masterpiece. Pure talent and passion. THIS IS REAL MUSIC 💯💯💯‼‼‼🔥🔥🔥🔊🔊🔊
😂 that’s a long name.
You always have the best shirts.
Haha … tasted the box. No longer listed.😢
I just come here for the T-shirts. Can’t afford any of those things 😊
For that kind of money I'd want an H core. No sale.
Cannot recommend ThinkPad or Dell for reason hot temperature
Have both. No issues with either. 10/10 would recommend.
@@ShainAndrews me too have both.
Not all Lenovos or Dells are the same; take for example a T14s or a latitude with a U-series processor and you won't have any temperature issues.
We cannot expect a 1.3cm thin laptop to use a 28w processor (>65w on peak load) while remaining cool. Simple physics.
Lenovo does get hot. Especially if you get a high-end and put it to demanding tasks
@@Leo-di9fq voila
would be nice if they removed the windows keys if you choose the linux option
why lmao that's my most used key on linux
So expensive 🫣 I went with E14 Gen 3 🎉
Versus it the m2 air laptop
Completely different computers even though they’re almost the same size.
Meh. Thought it was going to have a proper X200-era keyboard...
This is no longer the ThinkPad any more!
Unless they put back the hot-swappable battery into the laptop.
Can you please give me the x1 carbon please🙏
This laptop is on sale for 1300
I'd rather choose FRAMEWORK laptop modular and repairable. Compare to Lenovo made in china and irreparable.
thinkpads should up the design a bit.
how would you improve it? imo, there are very few improvement you can make on it. maybe some cosmetic stuff and that's it.
No. Looking drab makes them less likely to be stolen. We love the drab.
love these.
sorry my old ears could not keep up with your rapid fire delivery. Kept thinking you were pressed for time.
Please give us subtitles
It's easier to read sub than listen to voice
Nobody cares what you want.
@@ShainAndrews sorry if i offend you is some way
But english is not my first language just by listening to voices makes me miss a few words, i there's a lot of people like me and i hope they cares, but if not that's okay 👌
P E R F E C T !
I once had a computer at work that had a terrible Lenovo-branded keyboard. The keys got stuck all the time, and it was pretty hard on your fingers. Today, whenever I see that standard Lenovo key shape, I feel that it will be terrible, no matter how good the computer. Probably the morale of the story is thst if you are a big company you shouldn't let your brand get diluted by cheap products with your name stamped on them.
what a disappointment
lenovo really hates thinkpads
worst 'anniversary' model ever from any brand
they gave us a sticker for 2x the price - ridiculous
Lenovo had deals that halved the price. Got mine below a thousand six hundred ($).
@@okechukwumctitus6820 you still overpaid
A beauty!
And the notebook is also not bad!
Hello Liz…
