Conceptually, being able to play as the visage of a Zonai warrior is kinda cool. IN PRACTICE... the model is stiff and emotionless, doesn't feel dynamic enough to be what it's supposed to represent 🫤
But... many NPCs you interact with are completely unfazed by this 🤨 seriously, they're like "oh, you look like the old hero of legend" or whatever like this is supposed to be a obvious reference to the ancient murals 🤷♂️ I don't get it but okay
Part of me would like for Nintendo to update the look of the Ancient Hero Aspect's visual appearance. It looks so flat and lifeless, I swear I've seen antique China Dolls with more realism.
Its not that its not realistic its just that the concept and characterization doesn’t match the rest of the zelda totk and botw look. Like how tf do u fumble a cool ass concept that hard😭
@@birb.9684 Agreed, especially when you have fans that were able to create an INFINITELY better looking version of Link as a Zonai via a mod. Honestly, Nintendo should be taking a leaf from the fan's book and contracting the mod-makers to give their games some more polish.
@@birb.9684 Very true, Nintendo do seem the most eager to slap down any projects on their IP's that don't have their official seal of approval. Talk about wasted opportunity.
That IS accurate tho, in the flashback of Calamity Ganon the ancient hero's aspect looks identical to the hero who wielded the sword that seals the darkness(The Master Sword) 10,000 years ago
No he doesn't. It's only the red hair to appease the stupid fans who fixated on the red haired figure on the tapestry. The clothing, face, legs don't match at all.
Apparently it functions like the Hero of the Wilds set from the last game where fully upgraded it makes the Master Sword's blade beam stronger and also has like one of the top three armor ratings in the game? I'm still at like 148 shrines so I haven't gotten to play around with it myself.
@@nootnoot-2 you can upgrade it to 84 = 28 × 3 It's equivalent to the other armor sets that have pieces that max at 28 (such as soldier set, wild set, amber earrings). However the Ancient Hero's Aspect takes up all 3 slots so you can't mix or match.
So the hero Who saved hyrule from the calamity alongside zelda’s ancestor was a zonai. But this was after the imprisoning war. There should be no zonai left
So ... that's supposed to be a Zonai ... why does it look nothing like Rauru or his sister ? Why does it make Link unrecognizable ? Why is it generally so disappointing ?
I don't think it's supposed to be a zonai, because I don't think the ancient hero was one, given he lived after the zonai had gone extinct. The lead theory is that this guy is actually a lomei, the species that built the ancient labyrinths
So that "fursuit" is actually one of the best armors in the game, both in terms of defense and abilities, once it's fully upgraded. As for the significance of it, you should go back to the chief's house in Kakariko Village and look at the ancient mural stored there. Hope that helps.
Kinda sad you completed the shrines after completing the game, ‘cause you get an additional scene kinda like a “true ending” if you beat ganon AFTER you’ve completed the shrines. Just like Breath of The Wild.
From what i know, its supposed to be the first hero when they show the calamity in the firsy game. Because of the long hair theu broh share. Thats whay the theory is.

Tbh they messed up the ancient hero skin sm like he doesnt look like a “Link” he looks like a randomized character. Idk i just feel like a link that looked like ancient hyruleans with the tattoes, zonai clothing, and longer ears wouldve been so cool.
I like this game a lot, but there are a number of design elements that I think don't fit well, or are implemented poorly. From something as simple as how the quest ui is "perfectly" linear but also plainly off-center to how there's a sort of vacuum relating to aesthetic armor sets. For a game this remarkable, it just feels like the direction set at the beginning wasn't complete. I like how the game calls back on Twilight Princess with the balance of goofiness and horror, but I think the placement of either are a tad off the mark, or not strong enough in some areas. Example here, I feel like people wanted something cool or perhaps cute, not something that's distinctly horrifying and cool only when you have half an eyelid cracked while playing. There were actually a lot of things I wish the game had called back on as they were in Twilight Princess or some older games. The overworld and all the settings are pretty amazing in TOTK, but something I missed about older boss fights was the frantic scramble to survive between moments of advantage, how the music was moving and epic, and how the bosses were a mix of both goofy and unknowably eldritch. I'm glad that TOTK got close to that, and I don't claim that TP is ultimately better, but I feel like an opportunity was partially missed.
I think I'd like to hear more people sing the praises of this game though. It's honestly so close to being a perfect game, and yet we have to think of it in terms of it as a sequel to another amazing game. It's kind of a shame we can't overlook that part, but the game, if not that, is a true blessing for how good it is, and it does make me hopeful for its successor. I think developers will learn from this game just as they did from BOTW. The elements that stuck like the fusion and sandbox-y stuff, then the classics that made the early games memorable.
