mine is from 2008, can I also see the temperatures in mine? I know that not all of them can be seen
Did everything as you said and when I got to number 7 nothing happened. Can you help?
@@Antonio-mc2vt sono italiano dimmi di nuovo che non ho capito 😂
Oh man, I’ve always wanted to play a puzzle-heavy escape room style game to check my coolant levels. Thank you!
I'm amazed they made it so easy.
This is unbelievable. Wow. Incredibly complicated. Can't believe anyone would even think this up at the factory. I don't know what to say. Will try it on my 2008 S. Also just saw the ho to change the intermittent wipers. Again, Mini should have asked Honda how to put wipers into a car.
Good to see again. I’m on the Facebook group page everyday! Thanks for the effort to keep us on the road. Love my car. R56
Very useful thank you!👍
Just got a new subscriber here... I just recently purchased a 09 cooper s and I'm having problems with it 😐 😑 thank God I found you I can save time and money now👍👍
Thanks for the video! Super super helpful!
Thank you. Perfect tutorial
Thank you this very helpful
Hey gracias for all that info.
Awesome video it helped so much!
Really useful tip. Cheers dude 😎
What a Star! Many thanks for that
Thank you ❤️
Excellent video
Yeah, finding the 'puter menus on my 2010 S, UNNECESSARILY complex AF
Working thru it
This helps
Thanks
Very best Mini Cooper channel on the WWW!
Thank you! 🙏
Thx it worked for my clubman r55
Cool video
Good stuff,very useful..👍
Thank you 🙏
Very helpfull
Life saver!
I like how informative you are with Mini Coopers i did subscribed to your channel and also joined your Facebook group
But my Mini Cooper still isn't running yet 😢
Nice trick. Now I'll look up whats the temperature it should be running before it's too hot
Great info, thanks
Dude, great information
Had no idea
Dealing with some overheating issues. Leaking head gasket
Thanks ✔ 😊
Had my mini for 5 years been in the trade for 13 years and never new that crazy iv been pluging them in and reading it on the game boy
nice video my friend 👍✌
Thank you 🙏
Hello a very nice video perfect 👍👍👍from Germany 🇩🇪.👋👋👋Kai
Thank you 🙏
Great ! hello from France, i've just discovered your channel. Thanks for share 👍
Do you think it's the same procedure and available for europeens cars ? I have a mini r55 jcw.
When they've bothered to put a wall clock sized engine rpm dial and a clock tower sized speedometer dial one would wish they put a small wrist watch size temperature gauge somewhere... especially for an overpriced car like this ..but alas! 🤷🏾♂️
Just bought a 56 for my daughter and can't believe BMW think it's acceptable to make a car in the 21st century that doesn't have an engine temperature gauge on the dashboard. Shocking!
My Subaru doesn’t have one either
@@ProjectMini - What year is said Subaru?
2010 Subaru Forester XT
@@ProjectMini Yikes. You'd think that'd be a pretty important thing to have, especially for a higher trim vehicle.
So stupid. Like why do i need to hack the computer to see my temps. Urghhgg
Great tutorial, thanks!
Can someone help me, please? My ambient lights are set at high level but it seems that behind driver door handle are not lighting all the way like on passenger handle. I must say again that I set them on maximum. Can this light change or do something to improve their ability to be brighter? Thank you!
Great video. I am having an issue with the key fob not working right away. The car is not waking up and after it starts it could take some as much as a minute for all the gauges to come up. I have to shut it down and restart the car to clear all the start up menus. 2009 R56. Seems like a real problem when its cold.
Very useful... thanks from Brazil 🇧🇷
Thank you 🙏
It's crazy there's no permanent temperature gauge display. I like my engine to be nice and warm before I drive it harder so be good to know.
In the winter I turn the heaters on to judge when the engine is warm. When it’s hot, the engine it warm
Good to know how to crack the code. I just don't understand why they hid the engine temp anyway. I've just fitted an x60 gauge to give me manifold pressure and temp as well as being able to clear codes. Probably the best £25 you could spend on your R56.
@emailandy79 hey! Which gauge particularly did you get?
A scanguage 2 or an ultragauge will work. I have a scanguage 2 and love it
@@harrydawg X60 autool gauge.
@Project Mini the temperature at which the fans should kick in(108c) is something you figured from your experience or do you know it for sure from the service manual or some other reference? thanks
hi, do you know if you can deactivate the parking/position lights on the mini? The ones above the fog lights always turn on when you have the light in automatic or the on position. Is there any way to turn them off (permanently) when running the normal headlights?
Hi, project mini, I have a 2010 cooper, should I use the numbers you put in, or do I use some other numbers ?
I really want to know if one can check oil level on the screen.
There is two temp reading which is the rigth one the CTMP-MOM or ATMP-MOM both have different reading
Hello, I replaced coolant temperature sensor and reset the OBD, however it is still giving me the same code of P173B, do you have any suggestions as to what I can do next? thanks
I'M looking for a mini Cooper which model and year is the best with problems easy to fix ?
Thanks!
Is it possible to unlock fuel consumption as well? It's not shown either
It’s on the left stick menu. Just press the end until you see your mileage etc.
Whats the normal numbers on tempature when running the with the aircon on .....tnx
Wtf why is it so complicated!
I don’t have that answer, i wish it wasn’t though.
German and British designs. Maintenance intensive.
ikr A simple temperature gauge might’ve been nice
@@joshm2838 Like ,why don't they have one?.. Ridiculous...😡
It's a BMW what do u expect?
I’ve tried this on my R56 SD and it won’t work 😢
I just purchased a 2010 mini clubman two days ago and it’s stalling out on me when I stop at a intersection or anywhere else really but it only does it every once in a while. Last night it started acting like it was getting overheated because it was running poorly after leaving it idling a couple of times while I took my customers their food to the door. Once I stopped letting it idle when I stopped and started turning it off and then starting it again when I was done it seemed to be okay again. The check engine light is on and I got a P2187 code from scanning it. Do you have any advice for me on fixing this problem ? I would be very interested in hearing your thoughts on this issue.
Is there more than one coolant sensor on the R56 engine?
I have power steering problem ok when you start but when you stop no more power steering have to wait till car cools down then it comes back
Great tutorial. Thanks 🙏 is this ok,that I’m having a coolant temperature at stable 100-105 degrees Celcius when driving? In every other vehicle I have been driving before the correct temperature was 90 degrees celcius.
Yes, totally normal
Thank you. Very helpful. If I add a temp sensor and temp gage where would be the best place to install the sensor.
I have seen some one put a hose integrated with a temp sensor and placed it in line with coolant hoses.
mine is from 2008, can I also see the temperatures in mine? I know that not all of them can be seen
I just tried doing this because the engine light was on and the temperature was *** does that mean the sensor is broken?
I have 2008 mini cooper clubman s the engine not run more 2000 rpm check engine light half motor light
Thanks, wish it just had a normal temperature gauge.
I had an R56.....I had it a week then sold for that reason only. Oil pressure and water temp gauges are the two most important gauges in any car.
Hello there! thanks for the nice content. I just bought a mini cooper s 2012, and I see the temperature going up and down all the time, but mostly remains 110 celcius ! Is that normal? Isn't it a risk for the motor?
It should be around 90C
@@DavidB-rx3km Unfortunately it is not stable. I noticed that with the "sport" button on, it indeed manages to stay around 90C all the time. But without sport button pressed, it goes very soon up to 110C or more, even with very calm driving. I wonder if it's an ellectronic mapping error.
In sport mode I think the fans kick in at a lower temp
@@shiro4076 yeah, thanks for the reply, I found out it could be fixed with a professional remapping. I also cleaned the intakes. Now I always drive with "sport" on. And it works fine. With sport off it goes higher but not as before.
Mine just says ttt•C? Coolant temp sensor gone?
Not working on a 2008 r55 clubman. Or maybe I have a bad sensor.
My 17 years old MCS R53. Got no “ Coolant TS “. On board the only thing I hate so much about Mini while other’s I love it
anybody can help me out how to know CTS ?! Or we just give up until it’s blown out
Thank you 🙏
how can I check in R60?
I need to try it, it’s so annoying they don’t show it by default. Btw, 100 in Celcius is the boiling point of water, so you want your engine around 90 - no need to waste time converting to F
I follow every step an then when I go to the number 7 it doesn't show anything and return to the main information, anyone know why?
I have same problem, however I think every car has its own numbers ??
I added mine up and got 25..my dash only goes up to 21….
Why my car started to shaking when staying at 105 C
Will this work for the r60's
That was my question….🙄
Got a R60 Countryman and I’m trying to do some of the basics on my own
I push mine but it never changes anything but my trip meter
Omg
Did the steps and it didn’t show anything on number 7
Why is the brake light on? Mine will not go out.
why wood they lock that info away from you nice to just look at a gauge and see what the temp is.
What happens if it doesn’t change the screen? I was holding on to the button but it made a weird noise
How long did you hold the button?
@@ProjectMini sorry for the late response. But it was quite longer than what you did in the video. I will check again in the morning.
My VIN number added up to 27 and it would not allow me to go this high?
What are the last 5 of your vin?
Where did you get 19
Why is my mini sounding like a hair dryer I know it’s cooling down but why is it doing that… does the car need some thing with temperature I have just paid a lot of money and now this is starting help …
Maybe it’s the ps pump fan you’re hearing?
108°C? Isn't that a bit to high? Normal (or better to say, best) operating temp is around 90°C.
Are you checking the temp or figuring out it’s life path number? 🤷♀️
105 c temp is normal plz guys need help urgent
Nice hack there. Is it normal that the coolant temperature runs at around 80 degrees Celcius; what would be the normal coolant temperature;
I would assume 80 so my mini is burns oil on every start up and sits around 100c 😂
My mini won't come out of park
I dont understand 😢 why 19 and 7?
mine won’t even work !!!
What a mind snap
Get to 19 and back to the Start
Ahhhh
thanks but that's too much work to see the temp, what were they thinking, its like they don't want you working on your own car.
Good lord! 🤦🏼♂️😵💫
2007 S has smoke from under the hood and a bubbling sound from the coolant tank. Fluid looks black but don't see any leaks and the level is fine. Temp light came on. Any thoughts?
Do a leak down test in all cylinders and see if you have a blown head gasket
@@ProjectMini Any vids on how to do the leak test?....or the head gasket if it is blown? Seems to only overheat when a certain loud fan kicks on. When the fan turns off the temp goes back to normal, no bubbling, no steam.
I don’t have videos for those.
Your coolant should be blue, not black. What does your oil look like?
@@ProjectMini Oil looks good, clean. She is using coolant at times now. Check engine light just came on the spedo gauge cluster in the middle. It comes on briefly in the digital read out every few days, but goes off after a few seconds. Bad gas maybe? Used Mobil the last few times but usually go with BP or Shell.
@@ProjectMini Ran diagnostics on it at AutoZone and the check engine code is for the fuel injectors to be cleaned. Any vids on this or any advice?
Why was that red break light on red
My parking brake was on
The addition on my car comes to 27...scrilling thru only goes to 21...sooooooo
OK sorry but that’s ridiculous. Yeah I was looking for like a temperature for the coolant and there is no sensor for a coolant temp? Minis are weird.
It don’t works in my R56 (Brazil) 🤦🏻♂️
What are the last 5 numbers in your vin?
So this menu for mini is rly so useless, not like I can do that to check my temperatura in middle of a trip in the road 😅
Works great! But why did they think engine temp should be hidden? Engine overheating totally effs up the engine in a myriad of ways, so why hide the possibility of seeing this happen until it's critical. Absolutely idiotic.
Whoever came up with this at Mini needs locking up
This is the reason I traded in my mini a week later after buying one and got me an S2000 instead, I’d never buy a German car ever again
That’s really cool, but it didn’t work on mine, now I just get a bat cave light when I keep it pressed, I hate this car and want to smash it into a million pieces.
what about r60
I would assume it’s the same but i don’t own an R60 to test it on
@@ProjectMini ok ill try tomorrow
how did u figure code 23
50354 thats my last 5 so whats my code pls
By adding the last 5 digits of my vin number together
Nope, not doing this !
Not working with me
