It's common in autistic people not being able to externally express certain emotions, I myself struggle to express affection without coming off as creepy 😂 we do learn from observing how other people do it, so we imitate. In Chris' case, he imitates the expressions of anger from cartoons and anime, where it's rather exaggerated, not knowing that people in real life don't growl or pose with a claw-hand in the air.
Amazing how even in high school, he used his disability as an excuse to blame everyone for his actions, and saying "I'm offended", "I'm emotional". Barb and Bob were a match made in Hell. Chris was just the result of that infernal union.
@bigberd4827 he absolutely did not try, bob was a failure as a father, he tried molding Chris into what kind of son he wanted him to be, not who Chris wanted to be. He gave up on his son way too early

Watching the gangrene of Barb and Bob's misadventures in the bedroom slowly rot while still writhing in pain, and knowing that none of us could have ever hoped to stop the process. I have had some truly hard phonecalls, and dealt with a lot of things in my life, and I can safely say that even with another 40 years of experience, a world-renowned physician wouldn't be able to help Chris, so what hope did any of us have?

It's common in autistic people not being able to externally express certain emotions, I myself struggle to express affection without coming off as creepy 😂 we do learn from observing how other people do it, so we imitate.
