Kate benefitted lol. I understand what you mean yes, I'd rather he be swapping transistors or finding faults on 1, but for a channel that posts Dx videos, yes I found it somewhat informative, although it is something I personally will never have to do myself, have have good week pal.
What if hand built by an operator with quick ssb transmitter the two older amps I have use the disc cap not the " can" cap below 100 pF level those cans hold like 500+pF causing the stretched delay long delay not all that bad unless your radio partners are quick winded and you wait on ask calls
Excellent job! Had the same problem on my KL-400 except the delay was too short. Had to increase the capacitance a little. Old TV/RADIO repairmen never die. We just slowly pull the plug!
Good to see you fixing things! I like to learn things. I am a new channel friend from South Carolina. I am #36 thumbs up, and I hit all your buttons. stop in sometime so we can stay connected. 21 in. Old Radio Night.
Perfect, most who say there was nothing wrong with the way it was are sniffin their own turds. I do tech work 4 a living, it was too long of a delay because by time it lets go you miss the beginning of what’s being said.
That sounds like the normal timing for SSB delay, in the first part of the video. Another option for the 2 pin socket for the cap could have been a crystal holder...
I like a long delay in a amplifier. Better then that it goes clicky clicky everytime you speak. But anyway it seemed solved now for you. I'm already looking forward to some new video's with this amp. Since yesterday i use my amp on my radio. Its a RM Italy 300. I have it for years but rarely used it. Now its connected again and working fine. Very nice amp. I love it.
I have a B300p (amongst others) that all need some TLC before they're good to go again, hopefully quick fixes & just over driven. Great little video, I can change fuses lol. 73's. 26-CT-4078 Mcr 🇬🇧
USUALLY IT IS THE RESISTOR YOU CHANGE IF THE CAP HAS A WALUE WHO INTERFEARS ON THE RELAY AND INSTEAD OF BLOCKING RF .. NOW YOU PICK IT UP.. REMEMBER THAT THER IS A + AND - LEG ON THAT CAP SO TURNING IT WRONG WILL MAKE A BOOOM OR SHORT.
I've had a Zetargi B-300P in the past and they are a really good amplifier and work well on the SSB and on the AM and FM and I had no problems with the one I had back in the 90's and I might get another one just for the 11 meters and I'll have to get a external ATU for my Yaesu FT-950 if I buy another amplifier see what happens. Thanks and best 73's cheers. Stephen M3SNV 73's.
Dont forget there is a relay on the Pre-amp part as well so if you are using the preamp it too could have a long delay when switching from TX to RX. But you dont want it dropping out while transmitting so its a bit tricky to reduce the delay on that part. 73 TM205

Hi Kate. Does the pre-amp work ok on yours? I've had 2 in the past and the pre-amp would actually attenuate the signal. It's a common fault with those linears. I was just wondering if there was a fix for it. Thanks. 👍
I found the pre-amp on the B330p was fine for Ssb, but on Fm it made no difference for me whatsoever, well apart from 3s points on my SRF metre. I am more familiar with the KL's and have several size amps, but personally have never favoured the pre-amps, even my kl203 came without (kl203p with pre amp), so i guess don't expect miracles from them. 73's 26-CT-4078 Mcr 🇬🇧
Yeah I could send him some over driven amps I could do with fixing. Seemed pretty straight forward although I don't solder, but anything simplistic what could benefit anybody set up is worth knowing, I'd like to see more videos maybe, or a price list lol. 73's Ed. 26-CT-4078 Mcr 🇬🇧
amps for amateurradio have an extra control cable coming from the radio, to key the amp up and switch imediatly back to reception by the switch on the mic. that would be more useful. now you have to speak fast, without pause, or the relai in the amp goes click click in your speech, the mic will pick that click sound up and the person you speak to will think you let the mic go and speak over you. btw, a cb operator should be able to fix a capacitor on her own, a man fixed it for her...
It does via the voice wave, the amp set on Ssb would work fine, set to Am but on Ssb modulating would then create the click clicking noise you mentioned. We not that big on Am Modulation in the UK, we're more Ssb & Fm with the rest of Europe & UK40FM Muppets, Cw no Mod needed just helps having the amp set correctly Ssb/Am-Fm.
The factory standard delay is correct and chosen for a reason. No modification necessary.
Not necessary for you maybe, I thought it was quite informative so watched it all.
@@EdzashedFudwinkle Informative. For no real benefit.

& you’re full of shit. My rm italys too long as well. I’m being answered before mine unkeys Mr T Tech.

I'm so glad I found this Chanel. Cracking stuff👍
Great video, interesting Amplifier design.
Merry Christmas to all.

It was too long because by time it unkeys someone has started answering you & you miss a word or 2. Finished job was perfect.

with the wick btw, just dip it in some flux as the stuff in them is rubbish :) and it works a load better..73's chris.
You think they’d have put a pot in there to adjust the delay but good tip on changing the capacitor 👍
BEFORE YOU STARTED THE PSU DID NOT DIVE
NO VOLTAGE DROP... SOOOO WHAT DID YOU
CHANGE BESIDE THE CAP

Why would you need a delay on your preamp master tech 2 ? Think about your answer now.
Solder it from other side my friend 😊

I sold my b150 for that reason for 25 quid!🤣 seen they go for about 90 now!😭

if you got a full ham licence you could buy a proper amp, proper radio on proper bands and be legal.😉
