Hi Kate, I hope to hear you one of these days from California. . If you got some small light coax like RG8X and wrapped a two and a half inch diameter 16 turn coil around something like a plastic water bottle . and from the coil went up the coax 9 ft to the end . and then attached a straight wire to the center lead from there up 9 ft with a loop in the top . you could attach that to one of the lightweight 25' telescoping fiberglass poles and carry it with you for any field day - . because it makes a centerfed halfwave vertical dipole, . so roughly equal to the performance of an IMAX, and better (I have found) than an Antron99!

If you get the special USB cable you can use your computer to customize the Transceiver.

The coolest thing done few days ago i got hold 1111guy on 38 with my beam asked him what got him into cb radios there whole story about it also why he does 1111sound sounds like he controls 38LSB it was on my livestream Winter dx cobra commander skip January 3,2025 you see in comments where click on times numbers. you watch. it. don't share video i don't want 1111guy come after me on my livestreams you can tell needlebender club. about that i don't like 1111guy because what he does on the radio doesn't talk sometimes when fades out i got around on 38 my beam point away him it works out better. i took 5months get beam antenna i bought all masts at local lowies hardware it not fence pipe. it's emt pipe you get in 11 area at any lowies hardware store in USA it was same mast i use on my macov5000 back in 2023 and 2024 also 2025. back in dec 2024 i did change rg58 on my macov5000 to rg213 running rg58 to aplha delta and rg58 in my radio it made swr alot lower on 26mhz and 27mhz when check it with nanovna back in dec 2024 .

Cool i need get some nets on the skip is that channel 28 USB i haven't USB contacts on my other radios my cb cobra139 hads ssb.

Kate if you are going to use the Superstar 2000 you might need a RSGB Licence as the bandwidth starts on the 25Mhz to 28Mhz

I have one, now is the time to use them, I recommend the middle of the week in the morning, I hear the UK all the time, also get another antenna, they make a long telescopic for very reasonable price, I use a hand mic and hold the radio as high above my head as possible, I have talked 2k miles to Cali from Indiana... I would like to plan a day and try to work between your handheld and mine, that would be an amazing contact Kate.

What would be the maximum watts with the 5000 on a triple magmount? 1:1 SWR. The receive on this being so good It's got me asking 😂

I really wish that some of these modern radio manufacturers with make radios like this again, I know a lot of people that would want a tri-band 10, 11, and 12 m radio with all mode capabilities, am, FM and sideband.

Kate because of you and your videos now i want to get a cb rig but i want a linear of at least 100 watts and a decent radio that does not break my bank, what combo do you recommend? Here in the us.
