Miss my original Pres. Grant yard sale find. Took to my man , miss him too , real old school , started Comms for Uncle Sugar during Korea. Cleaned it up tweaked up right at 50w barefoot with echo /talkback , ran it trucking . While parked at night , talking skip and sides was my unwind before calling it a day. I bought and sold and ran .any serups , but that was the main radio. I miss my 2 , complete Dwight D Eisenhower Bases as well , one played with , left the other like it left the factory. Traded or sold em , but being from Kansas as he I need to find one. Hard to find untouched or done right.

Nice video as always. Probably somebody asked you this question before; how do you get such a perfect low noise floor? Is it the antenna / position, QTH?
It's a combination of those I guess, or maybe I should just buy a vintage radio ;-)

I use the same sirio 827, 21 feet off the ground Best 5/8's Omni directional I've ever used hands down. I wish it held more rf power , my 827 is melting at the coil so I limit my rf output to 1500 pep on ssb.
