    Very nice video. I fly the steam gauge king air in ms flight sim. Operation is largely the same, but to the best of my knowledge, there are no fuel boost pumps to be engaged for startup. Is that correct? The sim model is based on the 350i, which never featured steam gauge avionics, but I guess you could compare it to a 300.

    Great video,just a question ? Why do you close the gen ties on the startup ? Doesnt the normal position already leave the ties closed?

    • @KingAirGuyTV
      @KingAirGuyTV  Год назад +1

      With the electrical system in the C90B, for whatever reason, the beacon is on the generator bus. So if you want the beacon on for starting, as I usually do; the only way to illuminate it is to first close the gen ties to provide battery to them.

    Do you ever pull the props back? If not why not? Thanks

    • @KingAirGuyTV
      @KingAirGuyTV  Год назад +1

      Good question. Depends on the engine/prop combo. We have the upgraded engines with factory 4 blade props, so I’ve found it best to just leave the props full forward. There’s virtually no reduction in cabin volume by pulling them back. Some people with the upgraded props by raisbeck or MT will pull them back closer to 1600 rpm and it actually makes a huge difference in cabin volume. At lower altitudes where you are torque limited, you’ll lose thrust by flying at a slower RPM, at higher altitudes it doesn’t really make a difference on your TAS.
      I’ll try to explain that better in a video.

      @@KingAirGuyTV On my last tour in the USMC, I instructed on the T44 / C90-a 30-year-old KingAir, as you know. Yep, it makes sense for the newer models your flying. Just for your SA, part of the takeoff checks, props full forward (to be able to go into reverse), climb checks: props back to 1500-1700rpm, better economy, and a massive reduction in noise inside the cabin. Landing checks props back to full forward. Thanks again for the quick repley. Fly safe and keep the great videos coming.

    Hmm, enjoyed the flight....I think the more challenging thing isn't learning to flight, but the pilots ant ATC jargon....There are too many codes and special words to learn!!! In addition, i think it would be very helpful to not only indicate the 500 feet altitude while landing, but also the 100 feet, the 20 feet and the 10 feet.
