It's nice to see videos praising Buffalo. It's usually the butt of jokes, particularly about the winters. I was born and raised in Buff. Still have a home there and I also reside in NYC. I've come to appreciate the affordability and a little bit of a slower pace, as well as, the proximity to Niagara Falls and Toronto.

I'm moving to Buffalo from TN in 2 weeks and have never been to Buffalo before. Your videos really help me visualize and feel somewhat familiar with it without ever stepping foot in the city. Thank you for sharing!

20 years ago I lived in Albany and used to attend company meetings in the Buffalo area a couple times per year. A coworker graduated from Buffalo State and drove me down Elmwood Ave. one night around Christmas time. I always wanted to return and walk around. Never did. Hopefully, I can get there this year around Christmas. Love all of upstate NY.

Your videos are very informative...would be cool to see the same video after a HEAVY snow. My Mom said she would have to sometimes crawl out the second floor window the snow was so high...

I recognized that 24 hour store from the Peter Luger Westside Gunn music video lol. Another great video and I’ll definitely be stopping by Elmwood village during my visit to Buffalo.

Devonte, great work, as always. I resided along Elmwood in the 70's when I attended Buffalo State (after 2 years in the army!). I don't recall hearing the term "Elmwood Village" in those days. I served as a Lexington Co-op board member. Seems that the area is more commercial now. But still a delightful area.

I only passed quickly through Buffalo once on the way to Toronto when driving up from the Southeast. I'll definitely head back to see some of these neighborhoods for myself, and I want to check out that Tipico Coffee Cafe you briefly showed from the outside. I read about the new cafe's interior in a couple design blogs. It looks like something straight out of a dream. Not even LA or SF has a coffee shop that exudes a similarly unique creative energy. Check it out if you haven't yet. You mentioned the parks, and Buffalo is lucky to have these Olmsted designed parks. Few cities can claim to have a park system designed by America's preeminent landscape architect.

@Buffalo Living 2.0 (Devonte Davis) - Back in the early 1990s from Allen street (starting from that friendly Greek restaurant.btw is Nietzsche's bar and live music establishment still in business ?) north on Elmwood Avenue they had endless locally owned specialty stores, restaurants, coffee houses, bars, very few to no gaudy franchises like McDonalds. it seemed you could walk all the way to north Buffalo with lots of things to see and do and many people walking on the sidewalks and safe too. There was a lot of pedestrian traffic i.e. people walking on the sidewalks, in the evening and at night ., and it was very safe and people were courteous & friendly. Whats it like now evening and night? Is it safe ? I'd be most grateful for a reply

just curious: where do most of the Sabres and Bills live? Are they all in the 'burbs like Orchard Park or Hamburg? Do some live in Buff proper? What parts?

Indian Gate is very nice. So many people are afraid to threat try it that I've suggested to because they're afraid it's too spicy, but don't make it according to how you like it. I love this place in a lot of our family go there for birthdays and special and even the takeout is good. We like the samplers and they do have one that's vegetarian. They have many vegetarian and veggie selections, which is great.
