If you don't need to move here, don't. I mean Erie county in general. I moved here from the south. The biggest different is taxes. All expenses here are more expensive than the south for example vehicles registration cost. Erie county cost of vehicle registalation is about 4 times higher. This is just small stuff. Talking about property taxes, if you live in Amherst and buy a house 400K taxes is about 9K. 😢

The city should be paying you for these. Half the reason people only move to the suburbs from outside the area is nobody really knows the city has decent neighborhoods.

In your opinion what’s a decent income for a household 3bed / 2bath for Buffalo , NY. Not the absolute lowest required , but a solid income to live in a decent area with decent lifestyle - mid 30’s ?

Tough question to answer because everyone’s taste and style is different. With addition of that individuals financial history.
