Can someone explain why the bolts for the frame brackets, which are Grade 5, 5/8 course thread, get torqued to 130 ft.-lbs. while the bolts that attach the L brackets, which are Grade 8, 5/8 course thread, only get torqued to 80 ft.-lbs.?
It says to have the ball 3/4 to 1'' higher than the trailer, but that guy does not show that in the video.
@1:47
Yes, you are correct, it shows the opposite of the diagram.
Is it recommended to release the spring bars prior to manoeuvring the trailer in tight spaces?
Hi Ronald, we recommend removing the spring bars while backing up to prevent possible damage on tight maneuvers.
@@REESEProducts Hi, so unless you are doing tight maneuvers, we can back up with this system?
@@orlandonarvaez1 Yes this system isn't required to be disconnected when backing up. However, we recommend disconnecting during tight maneuvers to prevent unnecessary wear on the WD system.
Reece, how come none of the tools listed in this video fit the hardware that came with my 8000 hitch?
I can screw in the set screw all the way but it doesn't touch anything. What am I missing?
Wouldn't worry about it. Not much is said about it lol
What if the measurement of the wheel well is higher than the first time it was measured?
Hi Chad, if the height has changed. It will effect how the system should be mounted.
I have the same problem. How do you adjust the system to compensate for this exact issue?@@REESEProducts
@@REESEProductsyeah, you skipped a big part of this video. It’s pretty rare to get it right on the first time and you give no info on how to adjust things if the desired results are not achieved.
Should the spring bars lay flat on the L bracket attached to the frame? I had a rv place setup my hitch & my spring bars don't lay flat in the L bracket. They ride on the front edge of the L bracket.
Hi David, thanks for reaching out. The spring bars should lay flat in the bracket. Please see time stamp 4:20 in the above video to see the correct orientation.
@@REESEProducts thank you for your response. The rv dealer setup my hitch. It looks like instead of adding additional washers to get more tilt in the head that they just raised the L bracket on the trailer forcing the spring bars to go up at an angle. There is 4 washers in the hitch head but I'll add more creating more tilt to accommodate the lowering of the L bracket. Im hoping to get more surface area touching between the spring bar & L bracket while trying to keep the spring bars parallel to the trailer frame. Hopefully thats the correct way.

What is recommended ground clearance of the hitch bar in the drop position?
There isn't such a recommendation.
Is it the same process for the 49903 model?
Hello, Yes the installation process is very similar for the 49903 WD system. For specific installation instructions please reach out to our customer support team.
Could you tell us about maintenance. The install guide says to lubricate but does not say how and with what?
Hello, thanks for reaching out. We recommend lubricating the hitch ball and wear areas of the spring bars with a heavy duty grease - hitch ball lube will be sufficient!
@@REESEProducts will adding grease to the L-bracket surface reduce the anti-sway effectiveness?
@@ronaldscott781 Hi Ronald, due to the high down pressure exerted on the spring bars a small amount of grease should not alter the anti-sway effectiveness of the hitch.
@@REESEProducts do you recommend adding a sway control with this unit?
@REESE Does it matter what side the bars go on this hitch there’s no left or right on my bars
I will be honest. Those bars came with the trailer because I would not buy these on my next trailer. You have to be on a flat surface to take them off and it's a pain. Rather the chains.
does nothing for sway control nothing!! it prolly does distribute weight
