Biggest advantage of the 3.93 tires is they can be used in Scale 1 comps. On the Crowley obstacle, it's weird to put a smooth-surface name tag right in the middle of the climbing path.

You can make changes to affect the center of gravity, but you can't really fix the break over angle and ground clearance of the small tires. There's a reason those crazy sport class rigs have those giant tires and outperform everything.

They get bigger. They're just cold.

I would like to see a comparison with the 4.19 tires and 4.5 to see if there is a sweet spot between center of gravity and clearance. Compared to the 3.9 and 4.7

That’s pretty surprising considering the clearance difference! 🤔👍👍😁😎✌️

I've found the same with the Landmines, my 4.19 tires are my go to and my 4.75 landmines are just ok, usually relegated to trail rides!

A bit of brass, a bit more droop and the big tyres are all bonus

I just wish jconcepts make the 4.19 tusk instead of the 3.93's

I thank you for this comparison. we would have thought that larger tires would have better grip, but we must realize that the center of gravity is more important, thank you for your videos

CoG can be improved in many ways… breakover angles and clearance can’t… brass + big tires are the winning combo

Thought about going to a Vader skid plate for that 3 gear trans would get you a smoother belly for sure

Nice comparison. With the bigger tire, you are spreading the weight over a larger contact area. If you've got the motor and gearing for it a little more forward weight might be a benefit.
Joe, what is the balance on that rig, how close to 60/40?

so how would it act if it was very low profile tires (very little sidewall) with an extra large rim/wheel but that the OD still was around the size of that larger tusk?

WE (that crawl) know the burdens of swapping tires on the course. WE appreciate your comparison!

With the smaller tires you have to pick your lines differently but once you start doing that you will open a whole new style of driving and it will actually improve your driving with the taller tires

      Yeah I think so too.

@ExocagedRC I run 4.19's at beat the creek and can do all of the trails with small tires but the creek is definitely a challenge lol
