Sheer bloody genius! All the guys are on point and giving it loads! So phenomenally catchy it is impossible not to jump about to it. This, Angle Park and Fields of Fire always get the blood pumping and the heart pounding. Still cannot believe that Stuart has gone. And it still hurts.
One regret as a 56 yr old...... and that's not seeing the band with Stuart at the helm. All these years on... and they are without doubt my go to band when I wanna play some tunes.
I used to be a guitarist but arthritis has ended that. I love Stu’s stuff and played a lot in our little band in the 80’s. I always wonder what he would have been producing these days? Miss ya Big Man. I love how he could make a guitar sound like the pipes! 👍🏻
Gives me goosebumps awesome live band genius Stuart rip not a weak link in the band mark one of the best drummers around Bruce great guitarist underrated Tony great bass rifts and solid as a rock
I drove 15 miles to the only record store in the area that had this VHS in stock. I was 16 yrs and just barely got my drivers license. I called ahead and asked a clerk to put it aside for me. For some reason he declined... saying it's ok no one else is going to want it ( asshole!) I tore ass getting there! Circa 1985.
This was always the opening song in the early days. So passionate..So brilliant..Angle Park and Harvest Home too..1983 first gig seen,Coatham Bowl in Redcar.Sound check, pub, with band all day.No cameras,no mobiles, just memories.
I can honestly say that I was a Johnny come lately to BIG COUNTRY but once I discovered the greatness of this Band, I was like a kid in a candy store. OMG, could they ever ROCK a stage. This song is one of my favorites (among their many) and I cannot get enough of it. RIP Stuart, the ROCK world lost a great talent when you left us Brother..
I saw them live once thanks to my cousin Frazer. What a genius, what a loss. Yore the man Stuart.I did an open mict thing in Edinburgh a few years ago. I played Chance. Greetin like a bairn.
Just arrived home in my mind (London now 30 yrs)at Belfast Mayfield leisure centre 1983 went to watch Big Country twice..heartbroken still Sturant gone..they took me then & still today to a better place..could cry just writing so underrated..went O2 empire London a few yrs back timeless band..
I missed quite a few bands and Artists live over the years......I'm delighted to report that these wasnt one of them.....3 times and I count myself so fortunate. What a tour de force live........Sha!
I only knew one song by Big Country (In a Big Country), and I saw this concert listed on Wolfgang's Concert Vault back when it was free. I listened to it on whim, knowing I liked the one song I knew. Hooked, from this song on. One of the concerts I wish I could have been at, but I was born 6 months too late and on the other side of the world to be there. The only concert I'd like to have been at more is The Last Waltz. also, Auld Lang Syne is my favorite poem/folk song. I wish (and maybe I am?) I could count myself as a decedent of Burns.
This is a great concert the new band tries hard to connect with an audience but it can never be th same now its an oldies band can't be helped thr magic has left the room
@vespasianlegx11 got 2 b best gig eva. ive bin 2 sevan ov em all brilll but this there best. off 2 c them feb 12 reading and 15th bristol first time without stuart bit dubious but cant fukin wait
@patinovideo oi fannybaws, dont diss there songs that made the charts, Wonderland, fields of fire etc Charts are made for GEEKS and you seem 1 of them android? what is your position Dalek?
Melancholia, seems you’re only happy when you’re sad. It’s not a competition, you can like all, some, or even none these bands, and choose to take take pleasure in their creativity, music and energy without negativity and dissing. Try shouting at a wall or screaming at the top of a tall building, I have a key.
RIP Stuart. What a talent.
I am with You Bro.!!

It was Stuart that first suggested that Will Young would make a great James Bond back in 1972.

Nothing against U2 that came up around the same time but B.C blew them out as for musicianship
Thankfully The Smiths, New Order and The Cure were also around at that time as an antidote to this shite
Was just thinking the same about the Smiths & New Order. Utter bilge
The Cure are ok.
