First of all, Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible women who invest so much time, love and devotion into the children, both young and old, in their lives!
This week’s episode had Corey a little frustrated. After a wonderful time with Nathan and Marissa from Less Junk, More Journey, we headed north toward Elkhart, Indiana, for some meetings with our partners and some maintenance appointments for the RV.
On our way, we stopped in La Grange, Kentucky, to see one of our FOS Crew Members, Matt with Tobacco Barn Craftsman. Lily designed their logo and was so excited to get a shirt of her own with the design on it! Matt took us around his sweet little town which is know for the train track that runs right through the middle of Main Street!
There is NO regular train schedule, so we lucked out getting to see the last couple cars of the train going through when we got there that morning! Matt took us to a local coffee shop, the Mercantile on Main where they sell some of Matt and Sara’s pieces, and his friend’s donut shop, Dough Baby Donuts! And, for the record, their apple fritters are some of the best we have ever had!
It was great to check out the town and the “Be Kind” mural that was painted by HGTV when they came with their Hometown Kickstart series. Matt and Sara were featured with their amazing creations on that episode!
Now for the down side of the trip... The truck started giving us an emissions system warning saying that in 175 miles the truck would be limited to 65mph. Then it went down to 55mph 75 miles later. The frustration we mentioned earlier was created by conflicting information on the internet (shocking, we know!) saying that it might stay at 55mph, or it might drop us to 5mph which would be extremely dangerous, especially towing.

We have a ‘21 GMC Denali as well, first vehicle that needs DEF. Bought it brand new. 2 months in, if even that much, same thing happened. Took it back to dealer, luckily they only had it for just under 2 weeks. Shortly after that the part supplies dried up & they were talking multiple weeks to get fixed! I totally agree with you, it’s a fail in every aspect, somebody somewhere is making a killing on this scheme! 🤬🤬🤬
egr vacuum device , same on my dodge, but instead of replacing the paper / hose i installed a flex aps hose in its place and never had a problem since, . on the dodge there is one in the rear of the engine near the top of the firewall , that one gets sprayed out , flushing out the carbon and replace the same one back, i flush it ever 25,000 miles, never bought a new one , carb cleaner spray only.
I totally AGREE with you about the emissions garbage on vehicles!! and it doesn't matter what brand of truck or car you get.. they all have same emissions garbage on them!! and DEF is the most ridiculous thing they did to these trucks..... I enjoy your videos, stay positive and stay safe on the road!!
The emissions system on my truck left me sitting for 6 weeks last winter because the DEF heater quit, 5 days in on the road this past winter followed shortly thereafter by 2 weeks on the road. All covered by warranty except warranty doesn’t cover hotels and meals. I think it’s time for an EPA reset, having these manufacturers accountable for the junk they put on the road and the politicians for doing nothing about any of it.

Preach it brother. Your point about causing 100 problems by focusing on fixing one issue was spot on. The government has killed the diesel truck. My 2000 7.3 Power Stroke gives me problems now and then, but I can fix it. I can get 11 mpg towing and 20 empty. Better than the new ones, even though it can’t tow a semi and doesn’t have 1000 hp.

I have the same year/model also. My truck can pull our 26 foot camper up the mountain roads, even if it doesn't have the horsepower of todays engines. And, at 465,000 miles it is only at middle age!
I think park of the problem is Corey running the fuel down to fumes before refueling. You might could get away with that with a gasoline truck, but not with a diesel! It will come back a bite you when you least expect it. I NEVER let the fuel level go below 1/4 tank and usually refuel at 1/2 tank. The fresh fuel keeps things running smoothly. I also run 1 ounce Hot Shot's Secret Every Day Treatment (EDT) for added fuel lubricity and to keep the fuel injectors and various sensors clean. Y'all have been driving that truck pretty hard so something was bound to fail in the exhaust system somewhere. It could be something as simple as a bad sensor associated with the DPF or SCR. Some folks run a Banks Power iDash gauge to monitor the various systems in your truck and identify any codes it throws. Of course, it could be time for a new truck but prices have really gone up since y'all bought yours, so prepare for sticker shock!

I never let the Duramax LBZ I own get below about 1/2 tank before refueling. Airspace in a tank contains humidity and condensation and water vapor in diesel is an enemy of fuel and emissions systems.
I always try to fill up at 1/2 tank too. Hopefully this will help give me longevity with my truck.
@@dscluchfc - Agreed. You can help the situation with a fuel additive that removes some of the moisture, but you do need to maintain a proper fuel level.
He seems to beat the crap out of it.
Letting the tank get low has zero to do with the emissions system problem he is having. Other than running out of fuel, there is no way for that to cause an after treatment system problem.
I know it was stressful but this was an informative video for me. Sometimes seeing others experience the same things you do on travel is something that leaves you a little more level headed the next time it happens. We never see this side of travel RUclipsrs. Thank you for the honesty and transparency instead of always plastering a smile and saying all went well. I know I can always count on you 4 telling all about all aspects of this lifestyle.
It's probably too late, but if you get stuck on the limited speed, disconnect the speed sensor wiring connector near the transmission's rear, and the miles will stop counting down. Might cause a code to be set, but at least you'll be able to drive.

We disconnected the batteries for 30 min and got a reset enough to get it to the dealer. Twice dealers were so over whelmed with this issue it took almost a month for the fix and sadly it was grudgingly. Not all dealers are nice people if you didn’t buy it there.
Could you just reset with a codes reader?
No, you can't reset emissions codes. When I changed my fuel filter one time, I started the truck with the MAF sensor disconnected and it took a few warm up cycles to reset the code on it's own.
Time for the Duramax to go through a weight loss program 😉 I have the LBZ which is pre DEF but did come with the EGR. Emphasis on “DID” haha. Huge difference in MPG and power. These trucks were made for working, not being choked down by the certain government agency that hates all things fossil fuel. Hope all goes well with the repair. Safe travels. Corey and Jess, I feel your pain with the emissions related issues on an otherwise fabulous truck. We pull a living quarters horse trailer, at times enjoying a lifestyle similar to yours only with horses. We've had the three major brands of diesel pickup trucks in our family, and they ALL suffer from emissions system issues. We had pulled up to Cave Basin near Durango, Colorado, several years ago when our truck messaged "Regen Required drive +35 mph". I was on a road that would have broken the truck to pieces, much less the horse trailer at that speed! By the time we reached pavement the DPF was hopelessly plugged and we had to be towed. Fortunately the truck was still under warranty and after explaining I couldn't drive the required speed, GMC did step up and pay for a new $7K DPF. That was a wake up call in that you begin to question the safety and viability of our diesel pickups with these emission systems that might fail at any time. What if one had a medical or veterinary emergency? Being stranded on the road is bad enough, but being stranded with horses is another level of headache. I was a dealership mechanic years ago and in fact held emissions inspection license #0008 in Colorado and I'm very familiar with the difficult requirements being imposed on diesel engines. In discussing "carbon footprint", how is it possible that adding a 9th injector (7th on RAM) that does nothing but dump fuel into the exhaust pipe lessen "carbon footprint"???? If you find the fix for these issues, please in no way ever discuss them on FOS. We enjoy your channel and are good friends with Matt and Lisa in Montrose.

Said every diesel owner since 2008.
Limp mode only sets after an engine start, “you have 1 mile until 65 mph” it won’t restrict your speed until you restart the engine. You can run your dry/ fill your tank while running the engine and keep going.

With the message not changing at the end it probably had run through all the tests while you were towing and they passed. The EGR codes (from my experience) can mostly be fixed by pulling the EGR and cleaning it out. Very intelligent design putting the EGR inlet before the DPF canister so all the diesel carbon soot goes through it blocking up the movements.
If the system continues to not notice a problem again it takes 15 cold starts of the engine for the message to go away.
Just yesterday, I watch KYD's new video and Trish said, the strongest memories are made at the dips and the peaks. From my own life experiences, I have to agree. What happens between the peaks and valleys often gets lost, it's just the way our brain are hard-wired. We remember the peak experiences to give us value in our lives, we remember the dips as learning experiences to survive the next time around. So very glad you survived this little dip, that you made it to your destination without serious mishap (if with some serious stress), but know that your time in LaGrange will always be firmly cemented in your minds because of this dip that occurred the same day. Ask me some time to tell you about my first experience tent camping in Yellowstone. Many would consider it a total disaster, but it's one of my very best memories, hahaha. Maybe I'm a masochist...
Hey guys i had the same problem going to South Carolina this past Nov. I have a 2015 hd 6.6 diesel I was traveling from Amarillo to South Carolina but the same thing happened to me in Alabama but i was not pulling my 5th wheel. I was told the parts was backlog for 3 months so i had to delete the system and straight exhaust much better now and better fuel mileage and power.
I like diesel but this is a big reason I’ll gladly stick with a modern gas power plant. The savings just aren’t there anymore and the new gas rigs are impressive.
What truck do you like? I am still exploring and learning. How much do you tow. I have heard more peeps like diesel.
This is why I searched high & low for a clean Canadian imported diesel that had been deleted. Found it, bought it, and happily don't have to worry about the emissions systems giving us issues on the road. Good luck !
I agree with you completely about the emissions! DEF sucks! We specifically will not buy a vehicle that has DEF. We will rebuild our '02 to brand new before we get anything that takes DEF. We upgraded our 5th wheel almost four years ago to a class A diesel pusher and went shopping for something that didn't have DEF. That's how much we dislike it.

Amen in the emission crap! They solve one problem and create a 1000. I've heard if you can take the power off the battery and it will reset the emission calculator. It's never happened to me but that's what I've read on a forum. Even if you get a new truck this is something that will happen again since it has the same system. I say you find a state without emission testing (maybe a state the ranch is in) and you register it there. Then do the weight loss problem and sail free for the rest of your days.. Happy camping!
I feel your pain. I spent the better part of the beginning of spring getting my truck and truck camper ready for the season and as I was pulling out of my driveway I lost reverse in my truck. So I hobbled back into the driveway and fixed it. Being a bit frustrated I thought ok hopefully that is the worst. I stopped to get groceries and smelt oil and looked under my truck and now my main rear seal is leaking. You just have to count the blessings you get and move on. Hope all is well and you get yours fixed soon.
You’re experiences with a modern diesel is exactly why I bought a new F350 with the 7.3 gas and 10 speed. If you’re a GM guy I’m sure the 6.6 gas with the Allison 10 speed is fairly similar. Either would tow your setup more than fine. You’ll lose credibility with the Diesel Bros, but it will make sense on a spreadsheet.
A gas can’t toe what I tow, or have the engine breaking. After 50k miles, with engine breaking front and rear breaks still show just over 94% life left. 36k is a lot of weight in lbs.
36k is too much for a pickup to TOW, and as he mentioned, the gas engines are fine for towing around a 7-8k camper. And gas engines have BETTER engine braking than diesels do, before the addition of factory exhaust brakes. The transmission programming for the last 15+ years has provided great engine BRAKING with gas engines fyi.
Plus never have a DPF failure on a gas rig.
I totally agree on the DEF issues. I traded my last broken all the time POS truck because of the DEF. I will not own another diesel PU or car.

So glad y'all are safe and sound at your location. We have had truck trouble on the road. But with us it turns out we were right where we needed to be when it broke down. We have a F350 Super Duty 4X4 . So we happened to break down about 10 mins from my daughter's college at the time. And just so happen to be in the same town as what the Ford dealership said the BEST Diesel mechanic in the state of AL. So we had the truck towed to his shop and the camper towed to our favorite spot down there. I kept telling my husband the same thing , "we are safe, the truck is being fixed and we will be back on the road soon".
Things will happen that we don't plan for but things happen everyday that we also don't plan for . Like you said, stay positive, "things" can be fixed. Memories last a lifetime.

The most important thing is that you all got to where you needed to be in one piece. That had to have been very stressful but you had each other for support. Hope everything worked out well and you’re back on the road again. Emission systems are crappers. Stay well!
I know what that feels like I was down for 2 1/2 weeks , my particulate filter plugged up and right now it’s a nationwide back order.
That is the exact reason I purchased my 2500hd with the 6.6 gas engine, instead of diesel.

When we had Motorhome problems prayer helped a lot. Also a
OBDI thing to clear codes.
WE JUST HAD THIS SAME ISSUE HAPPEN ON OUR TRIP LAST WEEK!!! First dealer only replaced the sensor and looked no further. Same problem came up and the engine actually powered down while towing - max speed with any kind of incline was limited to 20-30 mph - it was AWFUL. We were stranded in a small town of 103 people and nearest dealer was 20 miles away - had to unhitch in the small town and take the truck to the dealer who was AWESOME - they replaced the sensor again AND the connector the following day when the parts arrived and that solved the problem. Lewis Ford in Fayetteville, AR is AMAZING.
So sorry this happened to y'all. Glad you made it safely to your campground. The same thing happened to my husband's truck. The dealership where we bought it had lost their diesel mechanic so he took it to another dealership where it sat for 3 weeks & then was told they "thought" they knew what was wrong & it was going to be $3,000 to fix it. My husband was pretty sure that what they thought would fix it was wrong so he took it to another dealership. Thankfully they were able to fix it but it took another couple weeks because they had trouble get the part they needed to fix it. It was very frustrating but thankfully it was fixed! Hopefully, you'll be able to get yours fixed a lot easier & quicker!!!
Im right there with you on the emission systems on these trucks. My 250 gave me a message Sunday for 200 miles before a max speed of 55mph. Something with the DPF system. Here we go. Hopefully yours is an easy fix and doesnt cost too much.

In 1988….we were living in California. Bought a van that had a catalytic converter on it for California emission purposes. We moved to Illinois and discovered that the converter was cherry red , I mean red… after driving it. we only knew this because the snow reflected the glowing underbelly. We had no idea. Our mechanic said he would disconnect it.
Unintended consequences happen for decisions not thought through…very frustrating

I had that same Rant in my 2018 Ram when my EGR went and then I went into limp mode at 5mph which isn’t even safe to be on the road. Absolutely the dumbest thing ever.
I'm with you on emissions. Biggest scam. There is a permanent solution. You don't need to talk about it, just enjoy it. Great video, BTW. Apple fritters are amazing, if they are good. Most places don't have good ones. What do you think of Wal-Mart's fritters?
Emission system problems on modern diesels is a way of life. If you are towing under 10K, go with the bigger gas engine. More $$ in gas but less $$ in maintenance. We are downsizing from a 5er to a TT as we aren't giving up our 2016 F350 6.2L gasser. We've been in our Sanibel for coming up on a year while our house was being built about 30 miles East of Cookeville. No need for a 12K 5er when a 8K TT will more than suffice going forward going back and forth to MI a couple times a year. Just wish my wife had fallen in love with a shorter TT. She saw the Transcend 315BH with the couch instead of the booth and it was all over.
One of happiest days of my life was ridding myself of a 2017 ram with Cummins engine. Check engine lights were a weely occurrence. Never ever again.
I recently decided to upgrade from a Tundra to a heavy duty truck. After researching the options for almost a year, I intentionally limited my search to a 1999 - 2003 Ford F-350 dually with the 7.3 Powerstroke specifically to avoid all the issues reported with the newer emissions systems. Found a gem 1999 7.3 with only 146,000 miles. Put a few thousand $$ in it to replace some parts that were nearing the end of their life but still functional. I am very glad I avoided the newer trucks!
This is exactly why i am putting my money into an older dodge dually diesel right now. It just runs like it's supposed to, and with all the accessories you can buy for them they easily pull just as good and without the extra cost of DEF and emissions bs.... but i get the ride quality and entertainment etc is not as "luxury" as a modern truck can offer.
My buddy did this to an older 1 ton dump truck, had about 40k into it but. it was a frame off restoration and was like a truck that was bought new and put into storage then brought out 20 years later.

We have had the issue with the vehicle going into Limp-Home-Mode and it's a pain. I was able to do a system reset with an ODB2 tool and get back to the initial limp mode. Glad you made it to the campground safely.
Truck problems during travel is so stressful. We are dealing with some ourselves and rig issues also but we are almost to Maine and will be there for a while so we know EXACTLY where you guys are rn. Safe travels to us 😅. Safe travels guys
Haha that emissions rant is how they run California. I love driving my 30 year old land cruiser, no electronic non sense.
We drove 55-60 mph all the way from New England to Washington state last fall, both for safety in high winds and for fuel economy (we got 16+ mpg in our Winnebago Trend). But Cory, I feel your pain. Emissions systems on today's vehicles are terrible.
Been there done that!!! Last month on our trip from Wisconsin to California my Silverado went into limp mode but also was misfiring from cylinder #4. We were in the middle of the desert as we had just left Quartzsite. Made it to a truck stop in Uma where I could mess with it. Found the connector for the injector is a common problem. Got the code to clear and stop missing. That is until we hit the mountains going into California. No amount of messing with it would help so 30MPH up the mountains were our only option. Got to San Diego and there was a Chevy dealer right next to the campground. Walked there and got a injector pigtail for $135. After installing it all was good till we got to Texas 7 days later and the same problem happened with cylinder #7. Stopped at a Chevy dealer along the interstate and bought 2 pigtails so I would have a spare. Once at our destination I installed the pigtail for #7 and all has been fine since and I still have a spare in the glovebox!
We are all so thankful for the fine work our government has done to help us, like those new gas cans that make you spill half the gas trying to fill your lawn mower, oh I forgot they are now going to outlaw the gas lawnmower to further help us, time to de-fund the EPA don't you think. my 2006 Duramax Motor Home only has an EGR, a catalytic converter and no DEF thank goodness. Did you get your repairs done in Fort Wayne OK?

2015 2500HD 175k miles. I have replaced def heater twice. Earlier this year I had to replace the EGR bypass and the cooler. It took us around 11 hours to do it. Such a pain. It does make me want to move back to gas but the diesel is so good with these big trailers. We have a 40' 5th wheel toy hauler.
We were driving back from Washington State to Oklahoma. 2000 Ford F350, pulling a Forester with a gooseneck. We were on the border of Utah going into Wyoming. Our truck slowed down to 25 mpg. We pulled into a weigh station. Tried to get a wrecker. The policy we had with Good Sam’s and of course the call person was from India. Could not find our place on the map. After a couple of hours we decided to start the truck and move farther away from the office. It started and we went to a RV park. Long story short, there was a guy who disembowed the part that you were having the troubles with. It was a good thing we were not in California or we would still be in prison. Oklahoma does not have a law concerning the part we are talking about. We got a lot better fuel mileage after that. The truck is in truck heaven now. Good Luck

We had a F350 1997 diesel. It had 350000 at 20 years old and many cross country camping trips. It was a great truck but it was extremely loud and stinky. I can’t imagine the pollutants that spewed into the air. Our new 2018 F350 is so quiet and not smelly. No black exhaust. It also gets great diesel mileage . I like the new emissions . Something had to be done with all the pollutants. Maybe GMC should check onto what Ford is doing

We went through this 9 times. Supposed to be cured with the 2024's which we have one on order.
In addition to this there is a GM update(s) reflash to your ECU that helps prevent the def/particulate filter issues. Seemed to work for us but too late, we’re trading it in, we've had enough. All makes have their mulligans.

Been using a 2023 GMC 6.6L gasser pulling 260rd fiver. 8.5mpg and love it. Bit by the ram emissions bug on previous diesel.
Just do a full EGR delete and put a tuner on it

We were leaving Chicago visiting our son and yep, this happened. Our speed dropped to 35. Then close to home it dropped again. It was awful. So stressful. We drove it in a.m. in limp mode to dealership! Makes you question having a diesel. Just bought a used motorhome and wanted diesel but decided to go gas. Afraid that when our west Traveling can't find a mechanic. It's always something for sure. Thank God you made it and hopefully everything will work out. Gasoline seems less problematic. If you drive 10-20k per year you don’t gain a lot by having diesel.
Midway Kentucky is another amazing little small town with an active rail road running thru it as well.

Tobacco sticks saved me in Kentucky when the shelf I put in my closet decided to give away on the first part of our cross country trip, but thanks to tobacco sticks, it is up and sturdy as heck and I now have a keepsake from Kentucky!!!
I feel your pain. We had a Dodge years ago that had a map sensor that went bad every 50k miles..like clockwork.
Years later, our diesel rig had a persistent EGR code that came up near Big Bend. Had to go all the way to Midland, TX to get it fixed. Ugh, cars.

I share your problems with the computer and I agree with you on having to put up with the lack of really good reasons for the "adjustments". Surely there is someone that does deletes on GMC systems, like the "bulletproofing" of the 6L Ford engines. Mine (Ford) just shut down on the interstate one day.
hopefully you get the pickup fixed, the only problem with a brand new pickup there is even more BS emission stuff on them. i had a few things looked at on my travel trailer that is going be almost 14k in repairs so im trying to decide if i want to get the repairs done or trade it in
Been there. On the way to Gulf Shore, Alabamajust a few miles off the 10, the top of the fn plastic radiator blew off. AAA sent a contractor of theirs that had a 5th whhel. So he sent his son to take the van, Ford e350 super duty as my tow vehicle, and he went home to get his dually. The plus, this on a Saturday morning on a Saturday! Anyway the kid took the van, he hooked up the trailer and parked in the rv park where we had res. The big plus was that he took the van to a great shop and provided a locals point of view of Gulf Shores. Rv park was great as we had to stay 3 more days,funky car rental was amazing and the shop top notch. So like you said get were you need to go, get the rig parked and don't worry about things you have no control over. It all works out somehow as long as there is cold beer!!!
We feel your pain!! We have a 2015 RAM 2500 6.4 that refuses to tow our trailer up big hills faster than 30 mph. Trailer is wayyyy under our towing capacity. We have a perpetual emissions code over the gas cap that the dealer agrees is not worth fixing however I'm convinced that this is what's causing the computer to limit our uphill towing speed. Our truck year is apparently famous for this. Spent 3 months in Lake Havasu recently when we actually had to replace the engine at 120K miles...new engine, same problem. And what, I wonder, caused our previous 6.4 to fail? I'm going to go out on a limb and say weird emissions BS causing the engine to behave unnaturally.

Oh it can go to 4mph. And it can just stop dead n the road. Ur out of factory warranty so do the Special Fix n keep on driving. If u don’t know what the Special Fix is….message me n my husband can explain it to u. Hubbys truck is a Chevy n mine is a dodge. Cost us about $1,500. Done…..Whooop Whooop!
HA! I know your feeling, this EGR thing has happened 3 times to us with our 2012 Chevy 2500HD Silverado. Each time was a over 1 year, and cost $$
Glad y'all are safe, your truck is a great truck, I assume it's paid for, I would get it fixed. New truck prices are crazy, and used ones are up in price. The dealership we go to get ours worked on calls us once a month to buy our truck because certain trucks are hard to find in our area.

Your video is a perfect example why I will never buy another truck. I have a 2003 Chevy Duramax diesel, Allison automatic, no emission controls on it whatsoever. The only thing I have to worry about is sometime the injectors are going to fail on this engine back in 2003 that was the one problem with this engine was the injectors, so when they fail I’ll just put new injectors on it. I will keep putting Band-Aids on this truck. It’s been a very good truck so for to me I bought it brand new in 2002 one thing about your truck according to this video, it never left you on the side of the road broke down it got you to where you were going which is a big plus long-term follower of you guys. Thanks for all your hard work you guys do some great videos. Thanks again.

Been there done that. Our Chevy Silverado Duramax did the same thing (not towing) in Tennessee and towing up a hill going from West Virginia into western Virginia while towing. And the conflicting information is horrible. White knuckle prayer time, for sure. Glad you were safe!!!!
When my check engine light turns off then I start to worry ... It provides a nice warm orange glow that I've grown accustomed to as a Chevy owner !
We have hung on to our 2007 Dodge 2500 for the reasons you mentioned. It is pristine and pulls our trailer like it’s not even there. Of course we updated the dash and all that. I designed and cut stickers for the back window of ours and a friends 2007 Dodge. It’s the Ram logo and says, I may be old, but I’m not DEF 🤣. Says it all!
I wonder if its the DEF system. Mine had to replace in my truck, it did the same, but it went straight to 5 mph.
I always thought having a dually truck would handle towing a trailer (especially a tongue type hitch) better than the standard wheels though I haven't ever driven a dually so not sure. I had a 3/4 ton Chevy that I used to pull my 33ft Terry Taurus bunkhouse trailer with, that was a beast of a trailer.
We have both and the dually takes the prize.
Whatever works for you as you will have to live with it. Personally I would pick the gray.
We just our second GMC Sierra Elevation 1500 5.3L v8 10.speed 4x4. To tow our GrandDesign Imagine 22reb. So glad we don't have to have a bigger truck and have to deal with Diesel and Def. Hope you get your issue taken care of.

There's no question that modern diesel engine complexity creates issues that subtract some from their inherent advantages. This has helped us decide on a smaller, so called "1/2 ton" (10-11k GVWR) 5er, that can be safely pulled with a 3/4 ton gasser.
Rant on! Same problem in my Explorer. My husband was an auto mechanic before he started farming full time. My explorer has had its check engine light on for a year. All emissions.
Yes the emissions systems are terrible, if you see this and ever have this issue again, disconnect both batteries for about 15 min and reconnect, it will reset the system to 65mph max twice before going lower, i found this out the hard way while traveling thru the middle of knowhere ✌️

That is awesome little town. I know one of the best apple fritters I have ever had was also in Alaska. Little town called Soldotna "The Moose is Loose" bakery. I agree with you on the emissions. My pre emission 1999 Cummins gets 25mpg on the highway and my 2022 cummins gets max 17mpg on the highway not pulling the trailer.
