Ive never heard that , the promo he did for ECW is what got him hired from everything ive seen .

Mostly cause of Paul Heyman, he's the one that got Austin back up on his feet after his termination from WcW. He got him to ECW to let some steam out and get him in the ring again, which is what ultimately led to him getting to WWF at the time. Not saying it was all just cause of Paul bit he's definitely the one that really helped ignite the Stone Cold character, which would grow throughout the WWF/WWE. Was reading up on an article on Paul, he said as early as 1991 he predicted Steve Austin would take over the wrestling industry, so he likely had no issues helping Austin get to that point on his journey until the time he blew up.
