Hector Engine
MG Hector gets 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol & 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engines. The Hector petrol makes 142PS of power and 250Nm of peak torque. There is a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard with the option of a 6-speed automatic. The petrol hybrid, however, is only offered with a manual transmission.
The diesel motor churns out 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque and is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox only.

Kartikeya did u notice that when u open the hood and look into the engine space , u actually end up also seeing open base and hence the road or surface below ! I am wondering won’t that be a big disadvantage to have an open engine from below in Indian conditions of dust and bad roads and grime ? Also the front grill is all opening into the engine box ! Won’t this open design be a big disadvantage ?? I am really keen to know before I make my decision ... thanks

Tail gate gets unlock from app but person has to open the gate manually because of a security feature
Suppose there is a wall behind the tail gate so it could damage the car so its a superb minute detail taken care by MG.

bro the tailgate feature that u used from the phone just unlocks the tailgate for 30 secs and we have to open it manually by pressing the button on tailgate...... if we not open the tailgate, it automatically locks it :)

The open tailgate feature in the app will only unlock the tailgate and not actually open it. Cause if the tailgate opens it may hit a car or a solid wall or object behind it.
