Stunning!
Thanks. I have a lot of the supplies I used for the ornaments in my amazon store if that helps. Looks like someone is getting ready to do some serious decorating. www.amazon.com/shop/claralawrence
Luv all the things your doing with your ornaments 💜😊👍🏼
Awe thanks.
You just need liquid floor polish from the supermarket. Pour it in, give it a shake to cover all of the inside. Put the ball upside down to drain back into the bottle. Do the same thing right away with super fine glitter. Tip out the extra. They are super shiny and it never comes off. I put about 10 colours of glitter on the table. Showed my grandchildren how and let them do it. I cut their names from metallic vinyl to on the finished one’s. We made a family tree with them.
That is true. I've seen liquid floor polished used and also mod podge. I have polyacrylic around and it was handy for me. The vinyl names is a great touch. Sounds like a fun evening with family.
Amazing!! How did you discover this technique? 🎄
@@pamelakelley4266 On a Colourarte video. I did the same thing last year using Primary Elements. They turned out gorgeous. I have a playlist for holiday ornaments and you will easily find them here. ruclips.net/p/PLZLi8qs8ketvnDKDAoKKQNX2wthDh_PgD
Bought my ornaments this morning! I'm making my kids do it with me, as they're complaining that it's just not Christmas-y enough around here, lol.
Awesome. Better hurry up and get your bling on. Have fun with the kiddos.
hahahha first one to comment lol this is so very cool Clara. Thank you
You are very welcome and thanks.
Of you just wanted it to be 1 solid mica color could you just mix polyurethane and mica from the start and just swirl it around the inside to coat? I have a mica color I want to use to color the inside of my ornaments -basically making paint. Would that work?
Can Alcohol Inks be applied over ornaments that are already colored on the outside? I have so many and would like to change them, thought it might be worth a try.
So nice of you to share these! I'm curious about a couple of things. Would the interference colors show up more if you put a layer of black paint or resin inside the mica layer? And, I find that silvers often just look kind of gray. I'm planning to try the metallic powders you showed that are not the just resin ones. This is based on what you showed of it in the previous video. Do you think these powders are of equal or better shininess to the just resin ones?
You are very welcome and thanks. The only thing I wonder about is doing resin on the inside. That is where my brain did a halt. I've done resin inside tiny bottles before for DND props and it cracked the bottle. So, proceed with caution on that. Paint is probably where I would go with this. If you are using the interference with a pearl like look to them, the black might bring them out more. If it is the glitter like appearance then the interference might be more transparent and the black would show through more than you liked. I haven't done this personally, this is what my gut is saying. When I had the interference to an existing color in resin for example, the pearl will lighten the color but the one that looks like glitter will not alter the hue of the color and add a nice interference shift. Hope that helps. I agree on the silvers, they can look a bit gray.
