It’s making me crazy that your not using the spilt mica and the cap trick and sticking something in the alcohol will contaminate it. Love the video…I’ve been doing this fir a few years but couldn’t find anyone else doing it.
Great video bro! I have let's resins alcohol ink but this will be great for colors i need in a pinch! Do you think the Brea Reese Dropper Bottles would keep this for long term storage?
Hello, I noticed your question and thought I might give you my experience with mica powder and epoxy. I add mica powder directly to the epoxy only after I have mixed the epoxy according to the manufacturers directions before pouring into molds. I also sometimes use a dry paint brush and add some mica directly in the mold it gives it a really cool effect. I will even color the epoxy with dark alcohol ink and pour it into a mold that been brushed with the mica powder I have had great results with that. The possibilities are endless when your playing with epoxy. Sure you might end up with some mistakes but you learn over time what works best for you. Hope this helps have a great day.
Good morning I am trying to replicate bingo dauber ink is there anything else that you can use beside alcohol in the mica powder that it will adhere to? The alcohol will have too much of a smell?
Sorry to say I think alcohol would be a little bit too wet usually markers use a quicker to evaporate solvent. Beyond that I don't have much knowledge on how they work I apologize!
A base, a solvent and a pigment. Those 3 things are needed to get ink or paint. By definition acrual solid pigments are just oxidation on minerals (rocks near water) we scrape off them. So you're not making an ink because per example gauche paint? Waterborne and based. Acrylics are usually waterbased but never born. Meaning besides the fact your playing with youre hands in metal flakes of mica 👍 very smart. Youre still letting it bond initially on water. Now its waterborne. Meaning my meanwhile just waterbased paint? The water evaporates, acrylates bond and you can throw whole buckets at it. Its solid. Yours also sure os sped up drying because of the solvent i use that trick too. But only when thenwater is gone its truly gonna set yet what your cobbling together if if sees water it will start dripping again and people keep copying this just how you did off of someone else and none of you have an idea what you're doing or the basics of the minimal chemistry behind it.

Thank you, hope you are doing well. Thank you for sharing 🌺
Can You make inks with glow in the dark powder?
Why didn’t you mix it in a drip bottle
Btw way rubing alcohol is also call IPA
Do you need to use alcohol for mica, or could you just add the mica powder directly to your resin?

You can find 99% isopropyl alcohol at hardware stores
Love the shirt!
This will not work as when the alcohol drys up the mice will just fill off any airfare!
You need to add a binder as well

Thanks for this, you made me realize my face sinking issues were likely caused by using 70%. I never buy 70%!
Happy I could help!
That was about half teaspoon
Do you think using 100% ethanol instead of IPA would still work?
Yes just be careful!
One for you, one for me.
Could you link the large sticky paper you use for your molds, ive tried to find something like it but im having such a hard time
I personally use double-sided tape but I know a lot of people have had success using high stick or permanent vinyl decals sheets
What are you referring to here?

There's no mica at ur site
I know I'm sorry we're having an inventory issue with it on the Shopify side but you can find it on our Etsy store!
That hair @7:47 that went into the mica was painful.
I think you've wasted more than you used. But I guess it's ok
WHY WAS THERE HAIR IN IT!!?? WERE YOU ACTUALLY USING HUMAN ASHES!!!?????
