That alcohol set really reminds me of marbled cheese. Speaking of marble, terraform (or in my case, I used jesmonite) makes a really good marble effect if you put a drop of water-based pigment on top of your already mixed acrylic resin and give it a gentle swirl with a toothpick before pouring.
I've had good success using acrylic thinner as an additive (up to approximately 5% volume of the liquid portion) to make it a little more liquid/pourable and slightly increase the pot life. It does seem to add a while to the dry time (I'd give them 90-120 minutes in the pressure pot if adding it).
@@DruidDice I'm specifically using Winsor & Newton Flow Improver - I like a runny paint for inking, but it turned out to be the perfect additive here. I've been using jesmonite branded material, but it's the same stuff ultimately. The leftovers can be chipped up to do terrazzo effects though I found it hard to do the effect well on dice (there's some from the fall on twitter). I think extra-deep numbers or pips would work out well but I did them in one of your pip d6 molds and got close to accidentally sanding off the pips on a few!
Dang, this stuff might be the thing that gets me to make dice. Literal math rocks. I'd probably try to make some teal glow in the dark ones (or any color really). Any suggestions of colorant for glow in the dark? Hope I win any of the sets!
They don’t ship to the US and it says they’re out of stock for the UK. Looking at other reviews it seems like this company hasn’t really been active for years. Is Terra form even in production still?
edit - they ship to the USA again! I did have a link posted but they no longer ship to the Canada due to import issues. Hopefully it is corrected but it has been about 5 months :( it is from the awesome folks at chromatic castle - chromaticcastle.com/product/terra-form/
I would be curious to try crushing up the flashing into 1-2 mm sized bits and mixing some into a new runnier mix to get the granite/terazzo effect.. Or maybe break up some metal leaf like gold and mixing that in for a gold ore look. If this is similar to the acrylic powders used to fill or do “dip” style acrylic nails… maybe you could design “Inverse faces” where the number and edge is raised just enough to dab and wipe some UV cure gel nail polish into the face to get effects like the cat eye effect in magnetic gel paints.
I've never heard of this material, thanks for showing it off! I might have to try getting some and making a slate or gray set that looks like actual rocks, with mossy green ink. Have you tried it without a pressure pot in your experimentation?
Okay, I thought I was missing something looking for terra form. The jesmonite name seems a little more common. I want to see either a meteor jesmonite set, or a flintstone/rubble dice set.
Galaxy math rocks~ Either do the typical galaxy color theme, ooooor do a set of every planet in our solar system. :o --- These are so cool! The colors with the paints turned out great too. I just looked up the website and am sad to find they're sold out. T_T

Great tip! I tried using a medium binder and it took over a week to cure!

Some type of jade combo would be very cool looking imo
This would be really good at a river rock or maybe even marble. I would probably try a green and black marble with gold numbers.
Realize this was a year ago, but I've really been wanting to find some dice that have the weight and feel of poker chips.

It's jesmonite by another name. Each brand has their own name for it
I have had good results with no pot, it works well with just a few bubbles on sharp edges

I had them in the pot for the full cure time, just to be safe as some times it takes a bit longer
