Hi everyone, today I'll show you a process of restoration of an antique Christmas ornament, this bird was made by German glass manufacture Lauscha. THanks for watching!
You did a remarkable job restoring this beautiful old bird! I have one of these thats been in my family for at least 75 yrs and thankfully its still in 1 piece! It even still has the tail and mine has little sequin dots glued onto its tail. I pack it VERY carefully each year, wrapping it in tissue paper then bubble wrap, when I take it off my Christmas tree. Its the first thing I put on the tree every year and the last thing I take off. Thank you for this video! If my little bird ever needs repair, Ill have your video to show me how to do it!❤
Thanks a lot! Yes, they're lovely, and you're lucky you have them😍, my mother used to have a set of these birds, but unfortunately they were lost after moving to a new apartment😔
Such fine intricate work. Fantastic, and fascinating to watch. I am just waiting patiently for more doll restorations. You have a wonderful gift and I thank you for sharing it with us.
What a great restoration job! Would it be possible for you to list a complete list of materials you used to do this restoration? Also, where are you located? I am in USA so products might be different here. Thank you.
Wow, amazing. What adhesive did you put on the tail before you inserted it? And did you glue it to the glass? The tails are suppose to move back and forth inside the glass and not sure how to replace my tails with movement.
It was an epoxy glue. Actually I think the tails are supposed to be attached to the glass, some of the birds I own have them attached, but with time they just come off and begin moving)

@@IrenesDIY Thank you Irene. That makes total sense!
Amazing! Do you have any suggestions of where I can purchase replacement foot clips?
OMG! Where were you, ten years ago when my 1 year old cat destroyed a lot of my German glass birds.
Amazing! I would have thought it was beyond hope. Do you do restoration professionally?
Thanks! I'm not a professional, but restore antique ornaments for several years already and have a lot of experience)
Need more videos! You have no idea the money you can make by putting out one a week! Unless you dont like money!
I think you mean UV gel, not UF. Ultraviolet
You're right)
