If anyone recommends "Mr Roboto", they are not a true Styx fan. That song led to the band breaking up. Any song off the "Grand Illusion" album is gold.
This is one of my favorite songs from STYX.Tommy Shaw is singing lead on this one. James Young is on guitar. You need to react to the Styx masterpiece Suite Madam Blue.
Though I have Irish, Scottish, Austrian and one unknown ancestral background.....I can see the resemblance cousin?! The one thing that ties us all together is the love of music and your channel! From west coast Canada 🇨🇦, peace.
Styx is a band of talent. 3 lead singers/songwriters(2 guitar, 1 keyboards) and twins on bass and drums. They have a wide variety of song styles - something for everyone. More rock like this: "Blue Collar Man", "Queen Of Spades", "Miss America", "Born For Adventure". Combos: "Prelude 12/Suite: Madam Blue", "Come Sail Away", "Man In The WIlderness", "Lady", "Fooling Yourself", "Castle Walls", "Young Man". Ballad: "Babe" Folk: "Boat On The River"
One of their best. I would recommend Queen of Spades, the B side of the Grand Illusion album, Suite Madam Blue, Crytal Ball, Half Penny 2 Penny, and Come Sail Away. 5 man band with 3 lead singers and 2 great guitarists. Dennis Deyoung, Tommy Shaw, James Young and the Panozzo Brothers Chuck and John.
STYX was huge in the late 70's going into the 80's. A lot of hits being cited here in the comments. But the song that was also a hit but actually destroyed the band, and that many hard core STYX fans didn't like, was Mr. Roboto. I've been a fan of STYX since the early 70's and remeber them playing locally as Tradewinds and TW4. Always been one of my favorites.
Mr. Roboto (while absolutely a song I can do without) was not the disease, it was a symptom of the creative differences in the band, but that being said, Styx was never destroyed - they continue to tour (saw them last month) and release albums after 52+ years. The core of the group remains there, and the music is as good as ever, fresh and energetic and polished.

@@tomdolman8158 Piss song live
@@timshelton8535 I agree that the current lineup does not do a good job performing this song live.

Too Much Time on my Hands is a good one.
Styx Blue Collar Man
Styx (sticks) is DEFINITELY a band to explore....
Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight, Come Sail Away, Angry Young Man,
I was listening to them back in the '70s and '80s...... they have quite a bit worth listening to
Listen to their new album CRASH OF THE CROWN.
Miss America is required listening for Styx!
