Its good because so may kids these days arent following in the place of the family farm and it just kills me my grandfather retired when i was too little to take over dad didnt want to farm and i wouldve gladly taken over in a heartbeat
I saw that too! It reminded me of my childhood. Its great to get kids hands on at a young age even if he decides he wants a different career path down the line, hes learning invaluable skills and to not be afraid of work and figuring things out.
You're right. Always lift with your back. Try and be as awkward about it as possible and bend your back in as many difficulties directions as possible too. It helps alot if you drop it directly on your foot too. It feels good.
2cts: It's the "Jims" of the world, that really make the world go 'round. I deeply admire people who believe that to work for a living is a virtue.....in my opinion, few things are more patriotic.
Zack said I got faith you can get it stuck 😝😅😂. Plus it's awesome how little man always wants to help and learn new stuff. I use to love helping my dad.
You guys just plain ROCK! Congrats on the new equipment and watching Onix growing into the next generation is truly amazing. The new equipment is nice Zac but you have something FAR more valuable.....your FAMILY! Thanks for letting us tune in and watch your day to day lives. God Bless you all,,,,
Hey Zach. Not sure if you’ve seen me ask this before but I think it would be really cool if you put the dates that things were filmed at the first scene of the day. As someone who has family farming in central Minnesota (Paynesville area) I think it would be cool for everyone to see what days your doing what with the weather !
It's so encouraging to see a young man like Onyx being given responsibility that many adults never take on. Our future is in good hands. I was put on a 4010 John Deere at his age and was on top of the world.
That's why I always felt a bit sorry for "townies". The kids in my school would always get us farm kids to build stuff and soup up their pavement pounders.
Love Jim, he's awesome. My favorite moment with Jim is the first time he got stuck. That's my personal favorite video of all time. Great Job Zach and your family on podcast and all the other awesome things you do. Thank you
Your grain cart driver from last fall is picking up where he left off in the shop work. It’s amazing how much help a young man can be when you need two more hands 🙌.
Once again Love seeing your Son involved. Also loved how they delivered the disc to you I worked for Deere dealership and the machines always came in in parts and had to be assembled then we would ground tow to the customer this way was to slick
Zack, thanks again for the 73rd Birthday message! my youngest daughter lily totally surprised me with your message, after farming 80 acres of apple, pears and cherries it is so relaxing to watch you and others farm! thanks gain for the message, Hope you have a great spring. Cherries are just starting to bloom here in central Washington.
I like seeing the relationship u have developed with these manufacturers throughout the utube carrier its a win win for everyone and almost forgot to mention love seeing kids involved in the farm also
Hi Zach: My family owns a trailer manufacturing business as well as a separate trailer dealership business. Firstly, if you need a trailer, we would love to help you. Secondly, I just wanted to say, I noticed that you parked your PJ trailer on the grass. Parking a trailer with steel frame on grass is the absolute worst thing you can do for that trailer. The moisture from the ground gets trapped between the trailer and the ground and you get more/faster rust. Don't mean to tell you what to do or be offensive at all, just though it would be good to pass along my expertise in this field.
Nice machine, just waiting to see it 5 feet in the mud 😂, by the way you guys should do an updated machine tour of who owns what and maybe have him tell us his story, he's a cool guy!
I love that onyx is right in there learning and doing his best. Your a luck man too work with your father and your son. And Jim is a good teacher as well. Thanks for sharing
Gettin busy now!! Love it!! I am especially impressed with Onyx!! He is becoming a real TEAM member. He's quiet, but he works well from what I see. I'd sure want him workin on MY team. Love to see you giving him more and more responsibility. Even better to see him handle it the way he does. Keep at it Zack. Like I say, ANY skill or knowledge you can put in your children's head, will serve them the rest of their life!! From my experience, working WITH my son on life, helped us both to cope with it. Thanks for letting us in..
Yes indeed... it's amazing how a few men with the right tools can do the work of hundreds back at the turn of the century. This ain't no wussy Biden country here, if you know what I mean. ;)
Great video Zach, especially love to see Onyx helping out the "o'le man", reminds me of my younger day's and brings back good memories of father/grand father who have both now passed on to the big farm in the sky, many thanks from the UK.
Just wanted to thank you for the recommendation you made on a vid I watched last year for the Walls jacket you wear. I got one for the winter and it has been the best thing I've owned in awhile. Love your channel, thank you for sharing your life!
I just wanted to thank you guys for that off the husk podcast about carbon credits. It puts me to sleep within about 7 minutes every time. I’ve tried everything but that podcast is the best for insomnia. Get the word out to anyone that can’t get to sleep. It is the best. 😂
It's great how you spend time with Onix and teach him and make it fun my dad never tought me like that all I was allowed to do was watch but my G dad did teach me some while he was still farming I have many fond memories of sitting on his lap steering the combine and tractors those were the good days pity none of my uncles kept the farm going and I wasn't old enough my G dad retired when I was around 8-9 yrs old
Wish my father had been like you and Jim. I was just the tool passer. I had to get my own stuff to start actually working on anything at a far later age then your son. Took me buying a 84 Jeep Comanche with a bad head, taking it apart and putting it back together on my own for him to actually let me do stuff.
I know it is really work, but I still can't think of a better way to wake up in the morning, knowing that you get to spend the whole day "playing" with such really cool, really big, really shiny (not wrinkly), did I mention REALLY BIG equipment!
The 9570 was so quiet while you were driving it down the road, that I was almost tempted to make a tractor sound to make it seem real during that segment of the video.
Thanks for another great video. Congratulations on the new tractor. Looks like a real nice piece of equipment. Also your other two pieces are nice also. Lots of new and updated equipment this year. Hard to keep up. Give us a rundown on what all is new to your farm sometime when you can. All of it is very nice equipment. Congratulations to you and your dad. Looks like a big project coming up with the planter if all those boxes are for that update project. Good going on that. Looking forward to the video on planter update. Onyx doing a great job on helping put together new equipment. Good job Onyx. Zach appreciate your time doing videos for us to see what is going on with all your new equipment. Thanks to Becky for editing and managing Zach, ha!!! You all take care. Really enjoy all the videos. Thanks. Iowa farm boy from years ago.
It very nice to see how all you stay and work together, I am sure that I r proud of Onyx, it is wonderful see how he helps you! I hope to visit your farm one day!
Seeing Onyx help assemble the rollin baskets,🦾, reminded me of a part time job I had when I was 12 and 13. I helped assemble new machinery at the local "Other Green" dealer. Yep, I was around when they still sold Olivers new.
What a great dad!!! I so wish I had spent more time with my son allowing him to help/learn how to work on things!!! (Also teaches them how to be a good man as well ;-) Congrats on the new machine!!! Makes my little MF 1250 look like a toy!!! (But it works great here in western NC with all our hills, those larger machines tend to tip over...) Warmer weather is on the way!!!
Jim is a helluva guy, love to hear his story some day when he's not getting stuck
Jim comes off to me as a guy who has stories to share, and I'd love to hear all of them.
Helluva 😂
me too
why do you have to do, my boy Jim dirty like that :D
working with you son when he is still a little boy are the moments you remember the rest of you life.... 1000 kudo's for that.....
Onyx wants to learn, nice to see that, He is not afraid to get in there and do things, future farmer.
It hurt when he didn't give him the hammer
Its good because so may kids these days arent following in the place of the family farm and it just kills me my grandfather retired when i was too little to take over dad didnt want to farm and i wouldve gladly taken over in a heartbeat

LOL, love going back every now and then,,, you still have two the two combines... hehe!!!
Need to get Jim on the podcast
Yes
Agreed.
Yes that is a must!!!!
Oh hell yes!!
Holy Buckets yes!

“Did you drop a nut?”
“Yeah”
“I’ve never done that”
The look on his face! 😂
The classic
Like father like son
I think Onyx is learning to separate fact from BS, I mean fiction..
Compare 12:55 with 15:53...
Did you drop the nut that's funny

Jim’s ‘Mornin’ Zack’ is so cool, makes me smile everytime.
Jim's a great guy I'm sure. Heck all of them are!
Zack said I got faith you can get it stuck 😝😅😂. Plus it's awesome how little man always wants to help and learn new stuff. I use to love helping my dad.
New rig looks good, cant wait for the inevitable future video of Jim burying it to the frame
Yup
🤣🤣🤣
They're gonna have to trade something in so they have something big enough to pull that behemoth out when he does muddy up the frame rails.
I think it's Jim proof.
Sometimes you just gotta lick the stamp and send it
So adorable watching you and your father teach your son. Longtime farmer tradition.
Hey when Onix is done with those baskets I got some jobs for him to do! 😂 awesome video and congrats on the new Rig!
Jan i think you have to wait until you get your own son to help you. Someday or like we say in Dutch ooit
Yoo
Theres something awesome to kids learning the trade. In my humble opinion id suggest hearing protection though. 😅
I need to send my kid to Onyx to have him teach my kid about good work lol

I like watching the little guy Brings me happiness to see a kid in the field 🙂
Brings back a flood of memories, when I was young. Never saw that kind of equipment but the work ethic was the same. Big fan of Onix!!
It's so encouraging to see a young man like Onyx being given responsibility that many adults never take on. Our future is in good hands. I was put on a 4010 John Deere at his age and was on top of the world.
Love how your son wants to be involved and help out. Learning some good skills
Love see the good young helper you got working alongside dad
With Zach,Grandpa & Jim as mentors...Onyx has better educators than any 10 colleges could provide...'6' is on his way!!!

The best thing about this video is the fact that Onyx wanted to work and you didn't have to beat him or pay him $25.00 an hour to get him to do it.
im sure onyx has his reward.

Nice to see Onyx helping out, best way to learn
The job never would have gotten done without his help.
It truly is and even at that age it creates life-long memories.
The look on Onix's face was priceless when you told him you never dropped a nut before...
Onyx-I dropped the nut

Nice to see your young boy helping. That has to bring a smile on your face.
I'm with you on the straight line at the end there. My OCD wouldn't have coped with it being 8 inches out either.
Awesome to see your son and Jim working together, he’ll learn a lot from you guys.
That young buck sure looks good turning some wrenches. Can't wait to see him running the planter.

Today the farm was trying to figure out where to put a 2way radio on the 9520r. Then I saw your video and now your way to mount it might be the way.
Good to see the young man jump in and help. Reminds me of when I was his age. Had to be right in the middle of everything.

Thats what happened to mine
New toys to play with are always a good thing. Thanks for sharing this with us all and can't wait to kick off planting 2021!
The art of unloading that Mandako tillage unit is a lot easier then the art of unloading an 86ft Bourgault air drill and not breaking anything.
Love seeing the little guy helping, growing into a fine farm hand! Brings back some great memories of growing up in the farm.
Nice machine, just waiting to see it 5 feet in the mud 😂, by the way you guys should do an updated machine tour of who owns what and maybe have him tell us his story, he's a cool guy!

Dude your daughters are something else. Son too. Great family!
I feel proud when I see Oniz working on and driving the equipment on the farm so I know you are one proud father.
When you said to your son that you never dropped a nut his eyes rolled in his head ...... 👍👍👍

I like that little smirk Onyx gives when Zach is being a smart ass! Lmao.
That is a proud day when the son uses power tools for the first time! I almost shedded a tear watching.
That boy is getting to be a real asset to the farm. I would like to see him running that big outfit.

I don’t know if Zac/Zack/Zach made him, but I love how Onyx* just gets in there and starts helping. You don’t see that often out of kids his age.
And the determined look , as though he is recording everything being taught to him. Good job Onyx!

You Need to ask Dougo if you can borrow Martin for a couple days to get that floor really shined up.
Wasn't going to say it but when the sweeper went by and the dust clouded up I was wondering if Dougo could stand it! :)
I'm pretty sure that Dougo would have to be included in the deal. Dougo and Martin are pretty tight. In other words I don't think Martin's a loner?
