@@Eric_Tennant on nearly every instance of “travel” I’ve done, (not enough!) I go to either DQ or In-and-Out. If the former, I get the item mentioned. This goes back to 1987 or so.
Note: I certainly did last October, in Astoria!

Congratulations! That was one heck of a long ride. Now I think you need to design and manufacture a solar optimizer either made out of titanium or carbon fiber, whichever you think is more ostentatious. You deserve it.

Super impressive range but I wanted more videos so I was hoping you were going to take two days. Thanks for the videos I do love watching them.

Normally when i see some one at a gas powered bike, I think they're a tweaker, and as a bike mechanic I cringe abit when one comes in. but your friend is helping me get over the sterotype! Still not a fan of gas but its cool to see someone touring on one! When I rode the trans am in 2012 I rode 122 miles the first day, fully loaded on a trek 520! 150 miles is a great range! Gotta test it in the mountains with a lot of climbing.

Dude you are brave/nuts riding in the AZ heat. I ride in Tucson ask me how I know. And those busy roads. Allow me to buy you a much deserved beer or half a splif for one of your breaks. Thanks for the videos. Enjoy the ride and ride safe.

I too enjoy your videos. I have a Riese-Muller Supercharger touring bike and you encourage me to continue to tour on it. I like being on the road for days because of the sights and sounds. I live in SW Texas, so some of our towns are more than 60 miles apart. I look forward to your next adventure. I have become a member today and have ordered something from your list.

love the dual battery RM. I already have a Diamondback union 2 with the bosch performance speed. So I just bought a second battery. When this one breaks down, maybe in 10 years, Ill get me a RM, I love how beefy they are for touring. Plus not having to get off and swap batteries is nice when your tired!

@@Adventures4vida I am contemplating purchasing a Burley CoHo XC trailer and ditching my panniers. Thus, I can mount a solar panel and install the appropriate electronics like you did for solar charging. I might also include foldable solar panels for more charging in less time. One thing we have in our area besides a lot of rocks and cacti, is clear skies and abundant sunlight.
I rode my ToutTerrain Panamerica 26" bike all over the US. However, I am now 70 years old and I need some help at times. The RM was the best (and most expensive) purchase that I made in years.

I've been a bicycle commuter my whole life, and I lived in phoenix for 5 years, it was the only time I hated commuting. I didn't have a good bike back then though. But the heat is so oppressive, and the concert melts rubber. I rode 12k miles on a normal bike in a year in North Carolina and that hear almost never bothered me. That desert heat is like cycling in an air fryer. Its brutal. I wish I could get a solar set up llike yours that didn't take up so much space. I like to carry a lot of gear on my tours! I lived in Peoria for a bit, mostly in Deer Valley. Worked at the waffle house up there by the highway!

Is NC mostly hilly? Just saw a video of a guy paramotoring over a abandon Amusement park in North Carolina. Ironically it was called Ghost Town Park (Ghost Town something) and it was up on a tall hill. Im always going to Maps when i see something interesting in videos to see what's around and bookmark and maybe one day visit..

@@road8248 depends on what part, east side of NC is flat, very flat, but as you get towards Charlotteville is turns into mountains.

You really need to wear gloves. Even if not for comfort, for protection from the sun and wind.

I really like solo Onward and Fourth. Plus it was kinda weird hearing/seeing someone in the background trying to make a video while you were trying to make a video with them in the video. Seeing people make videos in the wild is just plain odd.

Did you plug your bike in, when you stopped for that pizza? Any ways, you've got a pretty cool outfit going. I also ride an Ebike. But mine is a two wheeled recumbent, with a front hub motor. It sure makes things easier. Take care, stay safe, and it was good riding with you :) P.S. you need one of those neck towel things, that you keep wet. They really work. I've used one a few times where I live. Now I have to find where I put it last fall :)

Eric , i have been watching all your videos, My interest also includes that you and I have much the same equip and setup, so I am looking for helpful pieces along the way, I live in WA state by did live in az and traveled all the places in your video well...My brother lives in Herber....
So having say all that, i have a question, First, My ebike is pedal assist only, does not have a thottle, I just added the same panel your using to my trailer, same trailer, my panel sits above the trailer and seeks the sun left and right using an actuator, otherwise the same. Would you still do the New Mexico trip with pedal assist? Or do you think that would be to much to pull off. While I have done many overnight trips and also couple weeks long, they are not as agressive hills as you have done. I can't imagine being able to travel up 260 to Heber, I know it well on pedal assist. However, let me say this, I am using the same panel as you and just put it on because it will give me more power to turn up the pedal assist.... any thoughts??

Nice job on the ride. Im a Nomadic van dweller/touring cyclist. As i get older and the hills steeper and longer. Im looking at buying an electric bike this summer. The range on them has been my biggest hold up. But you just proved my worries pointless. Thanks for a great video.
