Nikki seems to forget that there are musicians in the audience. I was 15 feet from him and he was 100% using a bass track. Tommy was too with drums but not on EVERY song like Nikki's bass parts. Mick was the only member really playing his instrument 100% of the time. As far as the money goes, those other 3 were CARRIED by Mick for 40 years and to my knowledge, Mick hasn;t been caught in a lie. Nikki and Tommy on the other hand, are both pathological liars and Vince should still be in prison for killing Razzle.....so I'll err on the side of Mick.

When Vince Neil was involved in a fatal car accident, Mick Mars remained diligent and dignified. When Tommy Lee and Pamila Anderson were making raunchy headlines for their sex tape, Mick Mars made music. When Nicky Sixx died two figgen' times in 24 hours due to his own stupid drug abuse, Mick Mars held it all together. For 42 years that dude towed the line, was the voice of reason and played it cool. AND THIS is the way his band mates repay him. Disgraceful.

Motley Crue should’ve stopped touring after 2015. There was no need to tour again like they did last summer and now. Vince can’t sing no more and forgets the words. More importantly Micks health is way more important than him being on the stage in pain. Mick deserves everything that’s owed to him he helped create the band. I’ve always felt some of the members never grew up. They are mentally teenagers. And this is coming from a die hard Crue fan. Hearing all of this is disheartening. Yalll have had an incredible and historic experience. Have some humility and gratitude for the numerous opportunities and second, third and god knows how many chances. It’s disappointing. Over the years I've come to respect Mick Mars. His riffs are extremely catchy and while he didn't have the shredding abilities of Eddie Van Halen he made up for it with consistent writing. Having said that, bands make their money on touring now, so does he expect 25% of their tour money? They don't pay me when I don't come to work. I assume he still gets his royalties from his part in writing their songs.

This is a tough one. If he did indeed sign an agreement that he would forfeit his 25% if he quit touring, then I don't see how he can win this case. I think it really is deeply unfair, though, because he would undoubtedly continue touring if his body allowed it. The other 3 are not only younger, but have never had to deal with a debilitating illness like he has. They chose to get into endless amounts of trouble while he kept his focus as the only real adult, and toured again and again through debilitating pain. And it's HIS sound and mastery of guitar that defines Motley Crue more than anything else. So yeah, this is a really raw deal for him and I can't blame him for being angry and wanting to fight.

What does he get for playing on tour? Nothing? Well that's why they lowered Micks earnings to 5% so that way the other 20% can go to John 5 for taking his place. Along with that, why should mick still get a full 25% when he's retiring? If you retire from your job your job isn't gonna keep paying you.

I know that Mick has been the glue that has held them together the entire lifespan of Motley Crue, I know that he has been the brain of the band and always done an amazing job but, we're talking about a contract he signed well over a decade ago that says whoever doesn't tour, doesn't get paid touring royalties, which in all fairness, they all signed and agreed to it. With John 5 doing the touring, he deserves the royalties from it and Mick should focus on the studio stuff or return to touring. It's not about who did what in the past, taking shots at each other will just make things worse as it already has.
As much as I want to take Mick's side, legally the band is right and Mick should have contested the conditions of the contract years ago but to wait until after he retired from touring to then take legal action against the band for something he signed many years before, and then take shots at the band for sticking by the contract...

The truth is they can go on without Mick. Look how Pink Floyd went on without Roger Waters (the primary song writer) when Waters quit. It ended up in a legal battle and Waters lost. The rest of the band kept the band name and went on performing Waters' songs without him as their own and it is all totally legal. That is why it is called the "music business". If Mick is not an active participant doing his share, I doubt any judge would agree he is worth the same 25% as the other members to sit home and be old and sick when they are out their working.

I understand both perspectives. I think Nick should recognize that he’s not going out and doing the work and the band need to recognize they are going out and playing songs his riffs made. The band also needs to properly compensate whoever is filling micks role . 5-7 percent does feel low considering they wouldn’t have the songs to go out and play to make the money on tour without his contribution and legacy . So it should be 12.5 percent at the least and I’m more in favor of 15 percent because of how integral his contributions were as the sole guitar player . I think mick should get 15 the band can band can offer the touring guitarist atleast ten any thing over ten would have to come from a cut of the other 3. So maybe the 3 could get 24 or 23 percent and bump the percentage up of the touring guitarist to 13-16 percent. I’m sure they could find a guitarist to fill micks spot for way less than 13-16 percent but they want a guitarist with a name in their own right and that’s not micks fault . But the band could argue , the only reason the tour could be as financially successful as it is , is because the replacement is quality in their own respect. Dicey situation . But I think both sides need to be willing to sacrifice a bit more .

I'm thinking I must be a time traveler. I was at one of their last shows of their farewell tour. You know, the one with the contract, that they all signed, saying they'd never play again?

Vince was out of the band for a few years and got his 25% share back upon return. Same with Tommy. Why does Mick have to be forced out of the band with no chance of returning, when he obviously still wants to record and play live on occasion? Everyone remembers their very public signing of agreement that they will no longer tour after the ‘15 farewell tour. As far as Mick is concerned this was a one-off run and they have no right to kick him out. Because they had retired. Mick’s got the legal argument here. And most fans’ sympathy. Doesn’t bode well for the future plans of this Milli Crue.

Mars is a treasure. When I hear Crue at the bowling alley I am digging his riffs and not much else.

I do believe he did bottle feed them thru alot of things others should not have seen or heard about. He walked his talk maintained his position and silently led. He was loyal and performed in pain thru his entire career. He could have took pain killers and rampaged. Talent respect and control...calls for punishment????
