- Motley Crue is ordered to pay Mick Mars' legal fees after the judge criticized the band for not turning over requested documents in a reasonable amount of time. The Motley Crue dispute will now head into private arbitration.

Mick is a legend. They had no right to treat him the way they did, especially given that he carried the band for the last 25+ years.
The entire time more like, he was the only true talent in the band. He was the oldest member amd had experience already in playing big shows. He's the real muse in the band, everyone else is just there, doing Mick's thing the way Mick said do it. That's all they ever did. He deserved a Cobain level cut.

Mick Mars deserves exactly what the other three are getting. He was the lead guitarist and the only member with the experience and know how to get the band off the ground when they first started out. It's unbelievable and insulting that Motley tried to out Mick due to health problems. That's like saying Keith Richards deserves nothing from the Stones franchise

@@vermontbred this was a great judgment for marrs, though. he got the documents FINALLY (after years of asking for them, essentially forcing him to sue) AND the judge said they have to pay marrs' legal fees because they had ignored him this long.
he still has a long road ahead, but this is a great start. now they know the judges aren't going to f around. it's a legal matter and the law is on mick's side for sure.

Mick, raised those 3 boys, the best he could on his own, he deserves more...like retroactive hazard pay and a pension.
He didn't raise them. They never cared about him and he stayed around hoping they would change and start appreciating him. This strategy NEVER works. Either get with the program and make peace with who they are, or leave.

Saw MC open for KISS in Nashville in 2014. Audience was dead for MC. The depths to which they had fallen was unbelievable. Game over. Neil was overweight (again), Lee was a goofy old man, & Frank (Sixx) was...ugh. There was one bright spot. This poor underweight guy, stuck to the floor, immobile, hunched over his guitar...he sounded like 10 freight trains. Colossal guitar sound. Did not miss a lick for 75 minutes. A titan on guitar. One of the best I ever saw. That man's name was Mick Mars. I'm sorry, Mick, that you were stuck in a band that rode your talent on that & many other nights. BTW, Simmons, Stanley, Singer, and Thayer mopped the floor with MC, except for Mick. Mick should've performed with KISS that night. He's too good for MC. Mad respect for you, Mick.
I'm so happy to see ALL the fan support for Mick Mars! Besides he's the only one in the band that was NEVER EVER in any trouble! He did help hold that band together. I really hope Mick wins the entire case and doesn't settle out of court and retains everything he is entitled to according to the agreed upon shares just to piss them off! Mick Mars is a solid guy he deserves so much more from the rest of the band after 41 years!

Mick gave Motley Crue the Name, The Sound, The Style, The Money to start up Motley Crue, he was the most talented Musician in the Band, he taught them how to really make music, the change ups, Mick was really a Crucial Member in Motley Crue success.

Without Mick's presence on lead, Motley Crue is no more than a cover band for their own music now. It's comparable to Rush touring with a replacement drummer for Mr. Peart. Just not the same anymore. God bless you, Mick!
As someone that also deals with AS and a drummer, I can confirm that playing shows comes with a whole set of challenges and he even has the luxury of techs and ppl setting up stuff and carrying stuff for him.
Mick is the man and when I learned he had AS as well, I had someone I could look to.
We're both lucky we're not in the group that have lost our mobility. I wish him much luck.
Also, his new solo stuff is rad AF and certainly on-par with anything Crue ever put out...probably better than anything they've put out in 20 years.
i also am a drummer with AS and just started playing shows again for the first time in years and wow i can attest to it being a challenge, especially when band mates don’t understand how it effects us as well

Yea Nikki is behind it just like he was behind when they kicked Vince Neil out and found out they couldn’t do it without him. But mick didn’t carry that band Motley Crue was all of them. Nikki wrote a lot of the songs Motley Crue is with all them not this stupid other guitar player it’s not motley any more. I grew up with them when they first came out.

For those who believe Nikki Sixx is the brains behind this band, then you've drank the Kool-aid. With his books, interviews, movies, ect., he's spun quite a narrative but the man didn't know a bass from a guitar when he started. I've worked for the band twice, been a fan from the beginning as a teenager, and the interactions I've had with them is that Nikki absolutely has control & narcissistic issues, Tommy is very talented but very much a follower, and Lord knows we all know how entitled & invincible Vince believes he is or he would have never drank & drove again & again & again & again after killing Razzle & leaving the other 2 with life altering injuries. Mick is the absolute brains, backbone & musical talent behind this band. Nikki wants to claim he's the brains behind the look. Sorry but a "look" doesn't make music. Lyrically he may have contributed quite a bit but not fully like he wants everyone to believe. Don't believe me, listen to his old band London, who was a Boston copy cat band, even to the point of naming their band after a city, just like Boston but they were no where near the level of Boston. They were nowhere near the level of the Crue cause that level of the Crue is Mick. I know I'm gonna get shit clapback for saying this, but these aren't just my opinions, but my experiences. Mick, if you or any of your people see this, my many thanks to you & the rest of the Crue for decades of kickass music. I won't take anything away for what they've contributed, but truth is truth and you were/are/ always will be the force at which you rocked our faces off. Now that I’m an adult, looking through adult eyes, I can see all this. Motley Crue was my favorite band in middle/high school. I listened to Nikki’s radio show for years and thought he was the greatest person. I’ve read his books. I’ve been teased by my kids for being stuck in the 80s and my request to play them at my funeral. 😅 This is an ugly reminder that bands become businesses, what we see in public probably isn’t who they really are. Mick deserves his share, despite his age, health, etc. (In fairness the others do too) I don’t think I’ve listened to them since Mick filed his lawsuit. I just can’t stomach them anymore 😢

Congrats Mick Mars! I was worried that some legal bs would come into play but I’m really glad to see justice served. Seriously, those guys were riding on Mick’s talents as a player and writer. I saw their last tour with Mick and he was on point. I’ve got nothing but respect and admiration for Mick Mars.

Mick was the only actual musician in that band, he was physically hurting and actually playing and the rest of them are up there pretending to play with backfills. Mick was Motley Crue. His riffs are timeless, you can hear snippets of his riffs and know it was Motley Crue. He stayed out of the drama and limelight and that was what was special and respected by others. Being a drummer myself, I've always enjoyed Tommy Lee's drumming but truly, Mick was by far the most honorable member of the band. His new music showcases his benchmarks musicianship.
Nikki sixx apparently wrote the majority of the music... Don't get me wrong I'm rooting for mick but according to what I read Nikki has writers credit for most of the music

Mick Mars is a song writing, guitar riff delivering, guitar soloing genius! Motley Crue would never have made it without him. The realistic truth about it is that from the beginning Sixx and Lee could have been replaced with anyone who had long hair and could play, while Vince falls somewhere in-between that scale of replaceability, Mick has stood firmly and rightfully on the "irreplaceable" end of that spectrum from day one all the way to the very end with no waivering anywhere along that journey. God bless Mick Mars and fuck Motley Scrue... 😂 That's their new name by the way. They proved that fact by screwing the nicest, hardest working guy in the music business without reason or cause.

in the context I was using it in is the fact that Mick has never really gottent the credit he should for all he has done as well as the appreciation and credit from other top guitar players and critics out there.
A simple example is when ever you here people talk about great guitar players are see articals in magazines about them you rarely hear Mick mars being metioned.
ANd how many covers of magazines have you ever seen him on by himself talking about how great of a guitar player he is?

Mick is a grossly underrated guitarist and he is the x factor in the band. Imagine anyone else writing the solo in Home Sweet Home. You can't. Many Crue songs are great BECAUSE of Mick's solos and artistic inputs.

As much as I loved Motley and love and respect John5 I refuse to support them anymore. they literally shat on one of their brothers...He is just as important as Vince Neil is if not more, I've not cared for Vince since a long time ago but the loss of respect I have for Nikki Sixx hurts my heart.
Mick is way more important. The album they made without Vince is awesome he's the one they don't need and the biggest part of the drama.

When I was a teenager in the 90s, I was a hardcore Crüe fan and I still listen to their music today in my 40s. I never thought I’d see the day this kinda thing would happen. The band members seemed like family back then. My heart breaks that they put Mick through this whole situation. I guess money is thicker than blood in some cases.
Theyre playing Summerfest in my town this summer and lawn tickets are $100 before fees. Its insane.

Mick was the driving force behind this band from day 1. I'm so happy he won the court case against them.
I’ve always liked Mick Mars as a guitarist, essentially grew up listening to Motley Crue. I think his argument is valid, he helped create that band both as a touring entity and as a brand. A lot of people might not know, that he was primarily responsible for getting their first demos funded. That would be like keeping an heir of Harley-Davidson from receiving shares of ownership without some sort of legal justification or if they sold out their interest. Good luck, Mick!
Actions are more powerful than words. If Nikki truly felt bad for what happened and what is happening I think you would see him actually trying to do something to mend fences. Maybe the legal stuff still needs to happen to get that business part out of the way but the personal stuff could be being worked on right now. As far as I've heard, all Nikki has offered are words and a distorted version of the history. I doubt he's sincere.

The ship has sailed as far as an amicable ending to all of this. To be sure, that’s not Mick’s fault. Shame on the rest of the band for how they did him dirty. Last time I checked, having to pay the other side’s attorney fees is not only not a win, it’s adding insult to injury - the judge’s way of saying this was a sham of the court’s time, Mick’s time, and Mick’s money trying to fight it. Mick has the momentum in this case; the precedent has been set. All Mick has to do is hold his ground and see it through.
NIKKI SIXX has NEVER done anything "unintentionally" in his life, and to give him any kind of a "pass" on this issue is weak.

When Motley Crue went on that presser a few years ago about them NEVER touring again, this nonsense wouldn't have happened! Mick Mars is the backbone of this band and its sad to see this going on.
Mick Mars is probably the most underrated professional musician in the history of the business. His contribution to Motley Crue should also probably be greater than 25%. Just listen to the music they made and it’s audible that he was always the greatest talent and driving force. Tommy Lee I’d call a close second for his pounding yet serve the song drumming. Mick Mars deserves his compensation as a quarter of Motley if not more. I wouldn’t be surprised to see John 5 depart over this dispute to save his own career and show love for Mr Mick Mars.
I believe that I met him in San Diego when he answered an ad for guitarist that wanted to take it all the way - Long Hair and looked the part - and burning desire - Bob Deal back then
Mick is a riff legend. The man has skill beyond skill. Being tagged as the issue for the Crue is laughable. Mick we fans know who you are and what you have done to keep the band on the road. You will come out on top. The rest of the band mates are madonnas and you kept your style only the way you can. Respect
It will cost them to settle, have to divide band value four ways then buy out Mick that quarter percent. Won't be cheap plus they have to pay his attorney. So it will be a win win for Mick. He deserves it. 🤘✌️

We all knew Mick was going to win, Motley Crue were trying to force Mick into a corner, it was intimidation, the fact that Motley Crue tried to intimidate and force Mick into a corner, he had no choice but to lawsuit them, Mick gave Motley Crue the Name, it was his guitar sound and playing that gave Motley it's aggressive crude style, and his money, he had the money to start up Motley, Mick was very necessary in forming Motley Crue, glad he is finally getting justice

You know, it's a real shame that Mick Mars has had to go the legal route just to get documents in order to go to arbitration for his shares of the band. Still confused how the band's lawyer calls getting lambasted by the judge and having to pay Mars's legal fees a win, but okay.
They should have allowed him to retire from the road but collaborate in the studio. They could still add John 5 in the arsenal as a second guitarist. Mick has said he likes John. And Mick could play select shows. Iron Maiden never dumped Janick when Adrian came back, they just kept ALL of them. Foos did the same when Pat left briefly.
People don't understand corporations or corporate law. Mars still owns his 25% shares of the company whether he writes another song or performs again. Plenty of investors just buy stock or invest and never participate in the company and make plenty of money. Lawyers will take either side because they ALWAYS make money - win or lose. They are just trying to steal his shares for pennies. Mars was key to the band's success. The guitar riffs set the tone of the songs and made them memorable. Mars deserves his shares and profits from sales until he sells them.

I remember when motley Crue came on the scene, I was a big fan of theirs, Mick Mars Is the founding member of the band, The band is cold as sh/t. Mick owns 25% of the business He has the right to keep his ownership get royalties etc etc etc Even a retirement package.

Let's face the facts Mick Mars came up with the bands name Motley Crue without Mick Mars there would be no Motley Crue at all.
Didn't the band have some sort of lawsuit going with Vince Neil or was Vince Neil the one that filed the lawsuit against motley Crue I thought I read something about that but I don't actually remember maybe someone can chime in here.
It's documented by a third party who the other band members asked "if" they should get rid of Mars way back when and this third party told them ...."NO...it was a bad idea"....so Mars is truthful when he says, the other band members have been trying to get rid of him since '87 because he (Mars) is much older than the other band members.....Ageism in Rock 'n' Roll! Despite the fact that Mars started the band and came up with the name too!
