When you think of Motleys biggest hits ..it all starts with Mick Mars iconic riffs. Bought my first Kramer as a teen when I saw the Theater of Pain guitar. His influence as a guitarist is immeasurable. Wonderful interview…you’ve earned a sub!
You hit the nail on the head - Mick’s influence as a guitarist is, indeed, immeasurable because it does not exist. Mick Mars is synonymous with being a bad guitar player. To be honest, Too Fast is one of my favorite metal albums, snd Shout and Dr Feelgood are excellent. The riffs are good, great songwriting and damn good guitar licks finally in Feelgood. But the damage had been done by that fifth album. Micks reputation had already been stamped as a terrible guitar player and he’ll never shred that. No one except Motley Crue fanboys consider Mick a great guitar player. I mean NO ONE, especially guitar players. You want a guitarist who has influence and legendary status from the 80s? I can name 10 or 20 off the bat who are more influential. Heck, CC Deville and Oz Fox would run circles around Mick. BTW, where is the BC Rich Warlock in his collection??
@@DavidMartinez-gs7sb To say Mick is a bad player is a joke . Don Dokken who had Lynch obviously as his guitarist , has said Mick is a great guitar player . He would know . Mick also used to jam on stage with EVH , in their club days . Bob Daisley the guy who co-wrote with Randy Rhoads , for Ozzy's mega hits has said Mick is good guitarist . Enough said .
@@SJ-ty5rwI’ve never heard George Lynch say that Mick Mars is a great guitar player, and I’ve read and heard many of his interviews. In fact, I have never heard any guitar player describe Mars in that manner or even mention his name, unless the conversation was specifically about Motley Crue or Mars in particular. What you fail to grasp is common sense. People throw the term great often as a slap on the back or a term of endearment rather than actually meaning that the person has accomplished something GREAT. I could come up with a million scenarios where that may occur but that would be a waste of time. Even if George Lynch actually said it, and even IF GL actually meant it (not likely at all) doesn’t mean that it’s true or anything unless he explained WHY. Also, what difference does it make IF Mars shared the stage EVH at any single time? Any musician would tell you that sharing a stage with anyone doesn’t make you that person’s equal. It doesn’t mean anything. Me playing basketball on the same court as Lebron doesn’t mean shit. Even if he picked me for his team in a pick up game…. doesn’t make me a great basketball player. Go enjoy Mars masterful, incredibly technical and innovative guitar playing with George lynch.

He’s a trooper; coping with illness through all these years and still playing and Recording. And so passionate about music. Nikki, Tommy and Vince didn’t treat him well
Nikki Sixx saved Mick Mars life don't forget when nobody else cared but yes they need Mick Mars
esp nikki because "it was his creation" mick came up w?the name the logo the riffs and all those plantimum gold albums not them or nikki
Such a great musician. He alwyas brought a great bluesy feel to the Crue’s music. Nothing but respect for the living legend himself.
Mick Mars = Original G.O.A.T. 🐐🌟🌠🌌
We all LOVE You MICK!💜
Keep on doing what You LOVE you Genius YOU! 💥💯🎸🎶
How well does Mick come across here? Happy, humble and really knowledgeable.
Mick is the dude!
All the riffs that carry the Crue, he was the whole base of everything they did, all the parts that hook you, thats Mars.
With heart, thank you bro.
Mick is such a beautiful soul! It's so unfair that he's had to deal w/ this debilitating disease for so many years. He certainly hasn't let it get him down! Rock on Mick & congrats on winning the court case against MC!!💋 🎸🤘👅🔥
I've got r.a. so I can relate
Mick was the sound of Motley. That guitar sound🎉 Solo in Home sweet home' will go down as one the most beautiful solo. Thank legend❤
THE PURPLE PEOPLE EATER HIMSELF..... IN THE FLESH
Mick Mars is by far the most interesting of the four original members. He was in it for the music and the guitars and the performance.
What a great studio. Everything you need and nothing you don't.
You damned straight! They can't take it from him either! As far as I'm concerned him and Tommy were the total sound for Motley.
How can people not love Mick ? Such a cool guy. Thousands of people love him !!!Very likeable. Love that guitar collection he has too !!!
Thanks for such a great interview and seeing his collection Kylie !!! That was fab !!!
Cheers !!!
i know... I totally fell in love with him - he is the sweetest, funiest and kindest guy i've ever met. Him and his wife are so cute and I think its so lovely to see all the comments on here appreciating what a true legend he is and how important he was to creating that Motley sound.
This warms my heart
mine too as he is just the sweetest.
Mick's solo album is awesome. love it. Crue aint Crue without Mick.
So nice to see Mick smiling & showing his guitars, with a bit of history on each..Total legend!! I sure miss seeing him on stage!!
You can really tell that he loves guitars and respects them as art pieces and tools for making art
Mick always plays in his means. Just the right amount, never overplaying. LEGEND 🤘
U were the best person in Motley Crue. True respect!
How adorable is Mick! Must of been amazing to interview him. What a beautiful super talented soul 🖤🤘🏻
The man that combines the right guitar with the right music, but was in the wrong band..... for me he is golden! 🎯
@@paultruesdale7680 🤔🤪
Being a huge Motley Crue fan since the 1980s, I'm always interested in their guitar player regardless of the crap that has happened during the past year. This guy is vastly underrated and what he has overcome to play the guitar, not many others would. Can't wait for his solo album in about a month. Pre-ordered it right away! 🙂
I’m glad mick is still with us
I remember watching a motley crew doc in the early 2000’s speaking about how he might not be with us by this time due to his medical condition (ankylosing spondylitis)
Dude seems like a genuinely cool guy
me too and he really is one of the coolest guys I've met, I love him! Kylie
I love this. This is so cute / sweet. What a beautiful collection! Mick Mars is a great rock guitarist.
If I was a band mate of micks I'd rally as much as I could to help him in anyway I could . ❤ Much love for that man
Please take care of yourself Mick your very much loved, God bless you
and thank you for all the riffs.
God bless you. Jesus saves!
Mick seems like everyones favorite uncle with a ton of really cool stories
As a person who suffers greatly from pain it is obvious to me that Mick is battling with pain during this video he longs to rest against the chair or sit on the couch but he wishes to share with people his favourite guitar 🎸 collection a very courageous man ❤😊xxxx🙂
AS is brutal on the body and much respect 🫡 for Mick to keep playing and touring for as long as he did. I got to see him play in 1984 opening for Ozzy and it was a life changing event for me. Stay well , Mick
Whoah, that tour was legendary. Pivotal to the story of the band. So good it changed your life, the vibes were charged!
Amazing interview Kylie, absolutely loved it. Mick is so mysterious and doesn't give interviews easily. He doesn't talk to just anyone, let alone relax around them. He seemed very comfortable in your presence. So that says a lot about your personality and interview style. You should be proud of yourself. Thanks for this. He is a living legend. Love your new music Mick. Can't wait to hear the full album. And thanks for keeping the flame burning.
Thank you for sending this Andrew and for realising exactly that as you are right, he doesn't give interviews easily and I had a lot of elements against me... shame not all the comments on here realise that! He is a very sweet guy and this is just a snippet of what we talked about.... Kylie x
Much respect for Mick. My early 80's was all about trying to learn his songs....... My Favorite "Too young to fall in love"
He seems so genuine and real. Like someone you could have a beer with, visit, be entertained and , lean some stuff. Definitely the “Father of The Band/Team Dad” and a living legend. Would love to meet him.
Mick is definitely the definition of a guitar GOD he is 75 with a disease that make you feel like having concrete forming in your bones since his teenage years and still managed to be one of the best guitar players ever he is an inspiration to everyone that no matter your condition you can be the king
Mick Mars is a rhythm machine. I recall an interview with Bob Rock or Tom Werman mentioning Mick being ultra precise while doubling guitar rhythms. One can hear it on all their analog-recorded albums.
Absolutely ! And just listen to the recording of the guitar track on the last ever tour, it's perfectely played !! The others instruments + voice are studios recordings....
@@stefmathaxl Mick is awesome. I agree with that. But don’t make me laugh. You people are so eager to eat s*** online
@@caprise-music6722 Yeah...Vince's horrible vocals might as well have been studio recordings.🤣
He's THE most sweetest guy, and let's face it, a legend. ❤
Another thing I love is that Mick lets her hold the guitars and get a good look, a lot of musicians wouldn’t let you within 10 ft of them!
he is a great guy... as a new 'player' he was very sweet to help light my fire as far as the guitar is concerned.
@@KylieOlssonfunny the guitars name was izabelle same as me! I’ve been playing guitar since I was a kid, my dad played and so I had acess to the equipment at least, even though I wasn’t supposed to touch my dads strat! Ha~ eventually he got me my own first guitar.. but I was inspired because it was the early 90s and I was a teen, and I wanted to be like hole and babes in toy land and L7 etc.. so anyway I did end up playing in an all girl hardcore punk band here in Canada for almost 10 years, so I’m proud of myself for accomplishing that.. I’m saying all this to tell you if you are learning just keep at it, your fingers will get callouses and peel, my nails used to get pulled and I’d get these white indents under my nails ugh! And learning to stand and play vs sitting on your bed haha, ahh those were the days ❤
The Best guitar player, promoter a Band can have. The Best. ❤
Mick is Motley Crue!
They can’t succeed without him!
And Mick is very intelligent & he knows every aspect of guitars & many styles!
He is a guitar genius!
I had never seen Motley. The Stadium Tour in Texas is my first & last concert. I was fortunate to see them with Mick Mars. Soon after that he was out of the band. He has been a musician for many years! Mick is
The MAN!
🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟❤❤❤
Freakin Awesome. Micks Riffs and song writing is Legendary, Would not have been Motley without Him.I am 54 and play lead in my Band, when I was a teen Motley was Huge,It was ALL MIcks Riffs and Playing that made it, Thank you so much for doing this.
thank you! And I totally agree, a killer player
It is impossible to fathom how much heavy music that man has given us. He is light years so much more brilliant and talented than what he gives himself credit for. God I wish I could play like him. Can you post the whole video on here though?
I wish I could... Its airing in the US right now and am talking to broadcasters in the UK at the moment ... I might know a bit more in a few weeks
heavy? lol
Mick is so underrated. He wrote alot of great riffs
What an awesome interview with a great guitarist. I’m so glad he’s still aware of what he has and I’m glad that that woman knew what he was talking about. Absolute great interview hands-down she knew her guitars, and everything that goes with it! WOW
What a down to earth nice guy. An inspiration that no matter what challenges you may deal with spend your life doing what makes you happy because you only live once.
The way he’s talking to her reminds me of my grandfather, so sweet and happy to show off something he loves.
it really felt like that in the interview... he is a very lovely and kind guy
Mick is the best he has been a hero to me since I was 15 years old. In 41 now still love the dude.
YOU ROCK MICK , THANK YOU FOR ALL THE GREAT MUSIC YOU CREATED 🎸 AND STILL ARE 👍
It's simple .... Mick's a total inspiration to all Guitar player's out there !!❤😊. Very Humble Man🎸🙏
Mick is such a humble, brave and incredibly strong man. Struggling for so many years with ankylosing spondylitis, such a painful and agonizing disease. God bless you Mick🌹🤘🤙
This man is a legend. i never took him seriously because of the band he played for. but then i got old...and i realized how creative he was. i also came to realize Micks hooks were the driving force of motley crues success. without his hooks idk how far they go.
after interviews like this i appreciate Mick even more. hes a humble, good natured man. im a huge fan of his now. thanks mick :)
I would love to meet Mick Mars one day. Not only is he the best member in Crüe but he always seemed the most humble out of all the 4 members. I’m glad I saw MC with Mick at least once back in 2012 when I was 8. 1313!!!🤘🏻🔥
I feel old I was 41 when you were 8 and when to a Motley Crue concert. But Then I realized I was alive when they first made it big and I remember “shout at the devil “ first being realest.
@@dawnr6381that wasn't the first album
@@chrisnichols9187 I never said it was their first album.
This guy is just the coolest. What else can you say. The riffs he has created is unbelievable. If I could meet one of my stars it would be mick. Looks that kill I would think is my favorite.
Mick Mars and Brad Gillis are my two biggest inspiration's and the reason I picked up my first guitar in 1982 at age 12 and have still never put it down.. Mick is definitely in a class of his own..🎸
God bless this man... Mick, take care pal. Blessings
Mick seems such a laid back cool down to earth guy and one hell of a guitarist musician!
So cool that Mick did this. I love his studio setup too. Such a good player and rather underrated as well the last 40 years.
Thanks for all the great memories Mick. I grew up listening and learning guitar from you in my teen years… I love you brother! It’s hurts to see your struggles… keep jammin bro! 💯😎❤️
