love this video! the only thing i would had added is that if you drag a frame into the folder icon in your layer tab you can make it a folder layer and it helps with timeline management with coloring and stuff so you don't have to have an entire timeline just for flats
I have to say this is the BEST CSP animation tutorial on RUclips, hands down. It's easy to follow, the steps are at a nice pace, and questions are answered along the way to avoid confusion. I always refer back to this video if I ever forget something. Thank you for taking the time to put this video together! Very much appreciated!
As a kid I dreamed of making my own comic, I still am but thought I'd be the first black guy to make a manga, kinda glad to ppl beat me to it, it's inspiring
keep the dream alive, i'm just a white boy but I finally started drawing my manga and am working on a 3 minute promo animation to help get some interest going. Im 37 so it's never too late to dive into your dream. I have about 20+ years of story ive cooked up in my brain and finally putting some work in!! Good luck dude. Post some links to your work if you have any i'd love to take a look.
Nah fr before he posted this there was barely anybody that would teach you how to make your own anime. This man stepped in like he was Sparda from dmc when he killed mundus 🤣💯
this is genuinely an amazing animation guide, one of the best I've ever seen, it covers everything making it very simple to understand I wish I learned it all here instead of digging around for these tips long ago, I've been planning on switching to clip studio paint for animation recently and this is just what I needed, thank you dude!
Did you just heard my “I can’t animate” screeches? Cause this video appeared in the right moment. I appreciate you and your content a lot. Keep it up man ❤️
omg thank you for showing me how to specify frames so i don't have to redraw everything all the time. Im still a little fuzzy on how to color tho with all the vectors and stuff. But dude greatest clip tutorial ever!!
Glad I could help! just understand how to use the fill tool and vector lines thoroughly. have the flat colors on a separate animation folder and another animation folder for the cel-shading. use vector lines to create the path you want to fill in on one layer and the raster layer to fill in the spaces created by the vector lines for shading. vector layer lines + raster layer fills (blending mode and opacity touches) inside a folder INSIDE an animation folder for shading for a cel. it's confusing a bit and hard to explain, but there are many other ways, or you can just follow me thoroughly step by step over and over. Just make sure the raster layer for filling has "fill in vector path on" making it easier to fill. same approach for lights/highlight shading.
Thank you for making this I've learned a lot. But I have one question, how do you use onion skin for multiple animation folders at the same time? This doesn't seem to be possible. For example, I'm working on a character that's running and his hair is in a separate animation folder. But onion skin only lets me see the previous / next frame of his body or his hair. Not both of them at the same time. I'd like to see the previous frame of both the body and hair animation folders while drawing the next hair frame so I can make sure the hair is attached to the head properly. Since the head changes position every cel. Or am I maybe taking the wrong approach here?

Hi. Do did you find the answer to your question? How did u do it?
My confidence reaches its peak when I see your videos. Thanks to you I have made a perfect plan for my future. I'll reach a place where you'll agree to make a collab with me.
Thx for the shout-out because I made it to the end of the vid also amazing vid man i learned so much edit: it’s hard i tried before i am still not super good but i got better because of u
Man the timing on this is incredible - I decided last week that I wanted to learn animation and downloaded a masterclass to learn about general animation techniques and fundamentals, and here you go dropping an HOUR LONG tutorial on how to animate in CSP (which is what I use). Really appreciate your content man~
OHMYGODYAAAAAAS. I Saw you on CSP's advertising yesterday!! I'm so happy that you uploaded this video and also for your apparition in that advertisement!!!

I got kind of lost once you hit the second part of the video. Things were moving quite fast. Do you have another video were you break down the folder and animating structure like you did in part 2?
This is the best Clip Studio Paint animation tutorial by far!! I've been searching for a CSP animation tutorial in this is really explain a lot for me. Thank you so much!! 🙏🙏🙏
How i make animations and effects, I just make it frame by frame in a drawing app, not a problem for me, I can paint add effects and stuff and much more
This is absolutely insane. I can't thank you enough. I've learned bits and pieces of the animation process, but you actually tied it up into a single video where I can apply that knowledge I had previously learned into a tangible workflow. I can't wait to actually start animating soon.
I’d like to start off by saying that this is a great rundown for how to animate on clip studio paint specifically, with things such as the timeline and layers, that can get a bit finicky in comparison to other animation software. However, I would *highly recommend* using 24 frames per second to animate, rather than 12. This may sound absurd at first, as it makes you think “I have to draw *twice as many frames??*”, but hear me out; Rather than drawing each frame, it’s common practice to just draw on every second frame, and duplicate them once to emulate 12 frames per second. This allows you to utilise the faster pace of 24 fps on occasion, for things such as fast paced fighting, while still being able to animate what is essentially 12 fps for most of the animation, which is preferred for simpler things such as character dialogue. TL;DR: animate on 24 fps but mostly on 2s and 3s if you’re still confused, I suggest watching this video: ruclips.net/video/5_MDprx3tOU/видео.html
Had me in the first half haha, but for real this is good advise, working with the fps that the final export will be in makes things so much more convenient. I guess it’s personal preference but being able to have an extra frame if you need it can be pretty helpful, especially for action shots.
I must've forgot to post this comment after making it the first time- I found that the text bubble tool is a vector shape tool, if you wanted to use vector shapes, that's your best bet.
I have a cartoon artstyle that’s like a cute pastel gore kinda thing and a slight anime look and I wanna learn how to animate so this helped me a lot thanks!
Hands down the best clipstudio animation tutorial I’ve seen. Thank you from starting with the basics I needed that. I’m just now figuring out how to animate in the program. I was a product tester for smith micro on motion artist before they sold and changed manga studio to clip studio. But it seems like clipstudios animation set up is way better.
I’ve made a few animations with clip studio but haven’t gone too far because there’s no good tutorials on RUclips, no tutorials show how people color their animations and what not. Hopefully this video explains how to do such! Edit: FINALLY SOMEONE WHO DOES A TUTORIAL ON COLORS AND SHADES!
I love Clip Studio Paint and I've been trying to figure out how the animation works. Needed the basics and you got it covered. This is a really long tutorial so I think I'll be coming back later when I need more insights. Thanks!
Quick question about the shading! I typically use Multiply when it comes to my shading layers, what makes you choose Linear burn over that? I'll be honest I don't mess around with many things other than Multiply, Screen, Overlay, Soft/Hard Lights or Add Glow.
NEVERMIND! CPS has (so-to-speak) cockblocked the amount of frames for PRO and DEBUT of a max frame range of 2 sec (24 frames). :T Welp here is this info for anyone that doesn't know!

I waited for this video! Thank you
thank you so much for making this, im trying to learn with animation and this helped a whole lot. thank you :D!!
About time I found one that I can understand 😭
If u do 24fps on 2 frames basically 12 pics it’ll look smoother, 12fps is good for stop motion type animation, other than that good beginner tutorial,
