    This movie was actually my introduction to the Halloween franchise, and as a younger horror fan, I kinda liked it. It got me interested enough to watch all the other films. Now that I am an *older* horror fan, I recognize its flaws, but I have a fondness for this film that most don't because of the role it played.

    • @maoussirski5419
      @maoussirski5419 Год назад +14

      Its not even the role it played. Had this been a stand alone horror movie with someone else stalking the kids instead of michael it'd still be a very bad movie with a very bad script but making it a halloween movie and killing off lauri while tainting that awesome end from h20 was just another nail in the coffin. I do understand what its like to have a fondness for bad/cheesy 90s to early 2000s movies

      i always think of this one as an actual resurrection of michael myers the killer to the human after laurie dies in this one. everything that happens after that isnt really something he planned because he has finished everything on his to do list with taking out laurie so hes just going home to rest and the rampage is because there are trespassers in what he thinks is still his home. i always liked this one just because it was different. its terribly made and busta rhymes is literally the best part, but its still enjoyable.

    I know this movie is bad, but I can't help but love it. The twist of how Michael survived H20 blew my tiny little mind back in the day. The ghost hunting show concept is really fun, even if executed poorly, and the 1v1 with Busta Rhymes is so dumb, but I had fun watching it. Bad but fun is the MO for most major slasher series, and most of the time it gives them a level of charm for me.

    • @iamovoxo25
      @iamovoxo25 Год назад +1

      The "twist" of how Michael survived was stupid and didn't make any sense. It's no way Michael would've had time to do all of that. Crushes the Paramedic's throat, Strips Paramedic completely naked, He gets naked, Puts on the Paramedic outfit, takes his mask off, puts it on the Paramedic... So Resurrection really expected us to believe that Michael just left his "mask" on the Paramedic and was just walking around maskless. He's also shown to be walking around with his big 🔪... I mean the flashbacks they gave us from H20 were just plot holes left and right.

    • @Rei_Day

    • @iamovoxo25
      @iamovoxo25 Год назад +1

      @@Rei_Day Um no. Just not believable at all. There were multiple deaths and you mean to tell me that The Cops wouldn't have been trying to put Michael in Handcuffs. On top of that they wouldn't have left a damn MASK on the attacker/killer. It makes no sense that literally just 1 paramedic went to see where Michael "The Killer" was located on the crime scene. B.S. That WHOLE retcon makes absolutely zero sense and the writers clearly didn't know where they were going with that. It definitely wasn't well thought out.

    Moustapha Akkad was interested in a script for a sequel where Sara Moyer is revealed to be Michael's cousin.

      Tbh. I HATE. The fact that Micheal has like so many "secret" relatives. He's had like 1 sister 1 niece and like 1 DAUGHTER. like i get it its shocking but I think by this point Halloween has made enough "secret" relatives shocks

    I think I've always judged it harshly as I thought H2O was a really satisfying film, and it felt like dropping even the thinnest veneer of having an interesting story to tell.

    busta rhymes trying to fight michael myers with kung fu is one of the best scenes in the entire franchise. its also the only canon scene in this movie. and the word on the paper looks like “beloved” i can see all of the letters but the top of the L but the whole word is faded so that makes sense. also the word before it looks like community beloved. and the way she was treated by everyone in the town in the original movie, that lines up.

    Back in the 90s and a bit into the early 2000s in small towns before movie stores like blockbuster and movie gallery were common it wasn't uncommon for places like grocery stores or sell or rent movies.

    Oh no! There's a crazy serial killer loose in our neighborhood. What do we do? How about getting into your car and bolt it into a another city or state far away until you hear confirmation that the killer is dead or caught.

    I would sit through any movie that contains Michael Myers, but this one is just painful even when he's on screen.
