Funny enough, if daenerys had followed on Olennas advice, she might have preserved all her allies, dragons, and would impose more of a figure of power, dominance and could've preserved all she held dear while ruling westeros effectively

Aegon the Conqueror offered 2 things when he was conquering Westeros, it was to bend the knee or to burn, the thing is dragons back then wasnt only a mode of transportation but tue frontline of the fight. She shouldn't have chained or locked them up, but let them fly freely and fed them plenty, which is the source to dragons growing bigger and reaching their full potentials.

I still wish Daenerys had enacted a formal marriage alliance with Jon as her king-consort as soon as it became clear they were interested in each other - formalize it, unite the kingdoms (and eventual competing Targaryen claims) with the clause of Sansa (and Sansa’ or other younger sibling’s heirs to inherit) as Lady Paramount of the North. And I know that seems a little off topic from this video, but what I mean is kind of what Olenna is saying : be an active ruler, make every move with a ruler’s intentions, and don’t be swayed by Westerosi rules of engagement.
Honestly I feel like fans hated Daenerys for refusing Northern independence because for most of the show the north fought hard to gain it. But if you were to step into Danny's shoes as an outsider it would look really bad for a leader to grant one kingdom independence while the rest bent their knee and yielded her as their queen. It paints a brush of favoritism and Danny would have to deal with uprisings and lack of faith in her leadership constantly.
The Olenna haters say how she failed to mention how she lost to Cersei... That's exactly why her advice is the most valuable of all here. She knows first hand how clever and ruthless Cersei is while everyone else is underestimating her. Tyrion didn't really fully get to witness it before he ran away.
