Here’s the best advice: do a lot of interviews. That’s the only trick you really need. The more comfortable you get with selling yourself, the easier it becomes.
As I was interviewing for internships this last spring, some thing that I would do to boost my own confidence and make me feel more comfortable literally say to myself “I am the best candidate that they will possibly see today“ and there is some thing about that phrase that made me hold my chin up a little bit higher straighten my back and be able to express myself in a way that was confident and mature. I think it worked, I got five out of five offers!
I told one job i was a work junkie and needed a plug.... They hited me on the spot😂😂😂 Personality is very important. Dont "act" and don't force anything. If they like you, they'll hire you. If not, then they did you a favor. Do your job with purpose and you're good.
I finally have a job I enjoy doing with plenty of purpose. I've been on mat leave with my baby for 4 months and I go back Monday and I'm actually looking forward to it. It's part time, which is all I really want rn, but it'll be so great to get back to it
This is excellent advice. I graduated from college in 2011 at the height of the last recession, and I had such a hard time finding a job. All of the “entry-level jobs“ that I was applying for for being taken by people with years and years of experience, who had been laid off elsewhere. And I remember this one job interview that I went to. I just kept being really apologetic like, “I know that I don’t need all the criteria, but I do know there’s other things that I’m willing to learn, and the interviewer cut me off and said, “look, I’m not looking for someone who knows everything. I just want someone who has a good attitude and is willing to learn. We can teach you everything you need to know. I just need someone with a good attitude.” That was life changing!
Went to a job interview; IT for manufacturing. Ended up discussing with the CEO how he might solve a problem with a neighbor claiming too much of his land, and continuously creeping and infringing on his stuff. I worked as a surveyor for a year, so I had some familiarity with property boundaries. Didn’t get the job, but I think I was able to demonstrate my ability. The IT guy there then helped me get another job a few blocks away.
Ya sadly I used these, and it doesn't always get you a job but it does help you ace the interview. Sometimes you sadly loose to more qualified candidates. But if you don't get the job make sure you contact them and ask why. Sometimes it's something you did, and sometimes it's other factors.
Ok am I the only who noticed that when she was showing the emojis of different jobs there where Construction, detective, nurse, scientist, lawyer, ninja I’m sorry NINJA?? WHO IS INTERVIEWING FOR A NINJA (Also good tip thanks)
You'd be surprised. I said i wanted to be a mermaid all through my 20's and people laughed at me and called me childish. Until we went to the Ripley's Aquarium and saw people in mermaid costumes swimming with the marine life 😂😂😂😂😂 Like she said: if they need a job dine, they're gonna need someone to do it😂😂
I work as a karate instructor. Lots of people do. Plus there are probably like show ninjas or something, for like martial arts movie extras or a circus type performance
Honestly I wish I could say things like that. But I would be lying to myself 😞 I just want the pay and money, like what’s the job for if you’re looking to hire someone? To be honest, nowadays it doesn’t feel the workplaces want to motivate you into solving problems. It’s like you have to deal with their problems and more will keep coming. They will overwhelm you with so much negativity until you feel like giving up. I haven’t found a fulfilling job that makes me feel like my efforts are worthwhile. I get managers and assistant managers belittling & not showing a single ounce of appreciation.
For me, that was my experience in banking. Then I got a teacher degree and met a whole other industry of narcissistic women. I've moved into Out of School Hours Care and it's better. In a way, it's a sign that you're in the wrong profession but I don't know how to find the right one. I have subscribed to this channel though.
I think I've never seen it like this. It's a great perspective and actually the only one we should have instead of being completely nervous till the point we're panicking. 😂 Thanks a lot! ❤❤❤
They already saw your resume and know you're qualified, they just want to make those with social and performance anxiety feel like throwing up and see how stressed they can make you. I hate it so much.
@@timeiswhat It's probably the neurodivergence making me super uncomfortable, but I've gotten pretty good at covering for it by dressing up super professional and smiling way bigger than normal lol
She's right...I LIKE this lady. Your aim for the interview is to show all the stuff that you can do for their company. How you can be an asset to their company. How you can solve their problem of an unfilled position.
As someone who has worked in HR for 7 years, the general rules always work (show up 15 minutes early, dress clean/presentable, look and sound like you actually want the job, do your research, etc). I’ve interviewed hundreds of people before, AND has failed many interviews as well. Honestly sometimes it’s hard to predict. I’ve had interviews that went amazing, conversation flowed naturally, laughing, interview lasted longer than usual, and even got to meet the manager, and I was sure I had it in the bag. Then I never hear back. Surprisingly the interviews where I felt like I did the worst were the ones where I got the job….
But in reality I just dgaf... and I can't hide that, so they'll have to settle for someone who hates it and knows it's all BS, but will come in and at least do the bare minimum for a PT job until I make enough working for myself.... I just hate people.... all people.... I need to work for myself by myself or die trying
So glad I’m in the IBEW union and have a job no matter what. No dumb fake interviews, just had to go through an apprenticeship. After that I just go to work and collect 45 a hr Monday- Thursday(40), time and half on Friday and Saturday, and if we work Sundays that’s double. If I wanna make more I can just go to any local that pays more on scale like Cali (74hr) or anywhere up north.
Excellent And, being genuinely curious about the company, the person interviewing you and knowing about the company's past and their plans for the future can go a long way. Prepare questions for the interviewer such as, "what do you appreciate most about working here?"
I have actually been to several interviews, where it seems like they've barely read any of what I wrote in my resume. And then they ask about things that are either already in my resume, or they ask questionsaboit it that I can't answer, because they didn't read it properly.
Some of my best tips for interviews are: 1) They have already seen your CV and now just want to get to know you, 2) To reduce anxiousness: Think about the question you dread getting and come up with an excellent answer for it. This will lower your anxiousness, make you feel prepared and confident.
I am not a manager, but I was asked to conduct interviews for a web development position. For me, the interview was about determining how much you embellished on your resume. About 80% of the people I interviewed could not back up the experience they claimed they had on their resume.
Nursing is solving problems like how to get a person who can’t stand up to stand up. Figuring out how to clean up ✨things✨ that were supposed to go IN the toilet that ended up on the lid of the toilet. And also fixing patients tvs, our computers and just equipment in general
This is the hardest part about being neurodivergent. We do not present well but we are the most loyal, dedicated, deserving people who care deeply about our jobs but we can’t even get an interview or if we do we suck at it…why can’t employers have a day of just interviews for neurodivergent people and just give us the questions ahead so we can practice? And they can’t be generic they have to be specific to make it a fair playing field
My husband's been in a ton of interviews over the last couple weeks (he's even in one right now) and in one of them the interviewer actually shut him down when he mentioned that he was skilled at optimizing a particular process they'd be hiring him for saying "we don't need you to do that". I thought it was weird. (I know what she said because it was a phone interview and my husband had the phone on speaker with me in the room)
Well...maybe they don't want someone to rock the boat with the other employees and be able to just do the job they have open? Just because they turned him down to change things doesn't mean they won't think it's a good idea later on, after seeing he can do the basic job they are hiring for.
This jealous type attitude won't help you shine to reach your goals. If you don't want to give these advices a try, don't revenge on the person who gave them to you.
How do you know? You are like what? 19? The purpose (supposed to be) of the interview is to find out if you know how to do what you claim on your resume.
Okay now I understand why I'm doing interviews well, cuz I've been going in with that attitude. But then after I get the job and I'm starting to work there, I don't have quite as enthusiastic of an attitude... then I feel bad for the person who hired me, because clearly I wasn't the person they wanted. I mean I'll do my best but I don't think I can live up to my attitude in the interview.
Help?! I am 42 and I haven’t worked in over seven years (raising a family and etc), where do I even start for finding or looking for a job, I don’t even know how or what to put on my resume, or even cover letter, let alone find what places to send it to! Any advice appreciated.
OK, so I bet you have done a ton of volunteer work while raising your family. That's your "work experience". You can divide that up into paid and nonpaid (stuff you did before you stayed home) or just list it chronologically. Did you run or head anything? Even if you worked on something for free, you "worked". Such as I did the crafts (and someone else handled the personnel) for our local MOPS org., when we provided daycare for the moms when they were at the daytime meetings. I list that as "work". I now teach Sunday school for free, I list that as "work" or a "job" and say it's unpaid. Just because you were not paid, doesn't mean it wasn't "work" or a "job" that wasn't valued just as long you put on the resume that it was unpaid. Also, very important, ask your friends at the places you volunteered at if they could write you "Letters of Recommendation" or better yet, be references for you (you'll need 3 minimum). Just because you weren't paid, doesn't mean you weren't working, honey. Good luck!
Sort of correct. We get resumes from HR. You may have been chosen by them for reasons unrelated to your resume. We have to weed out those who can’t do the job. Attitude, that’s not a factor. Skills and knowledge are. People can die when engineers and pilots make mistakes. Graphics designers, not so much.
... Me just trying to look at the architecture behind her 🤣 I'm thinking she's down town in a smaller town. For some reason (the bright blue sky maybe?) I'm thinking in Colorado or somewhere similar
Yup...I will always remember that classic interview I went to on a Friday afternoon (never schedule an interview on a Friday afternoon) for a tech position. There were 3 guys (I was a young woman in my 20's): the entire interview, one played with a ball, countless times throwing it up in the air or at the wall, looking at the clock a lot. One "worked" on the computer, I looked sideways one time and he was playing a video game in the background while supposedly working on a spreadsheet with numbers, and toggling back and forth. And one had a piece of paper he read the questions off of and looked at the clock a lot too. After the "tell me about yourself" question, I asked if they had looked at my resume/CV I had sent them...nope. What resume? I gave the main guy a copy, and answered his read-from-the-sheet questions trying to sell myself. A 1/2 hr. to 1 hour interview was taking several hours I noticed...and all the guys were looking bored. When the main guy took a break, came back, and after I asked if there was anything else they needed to know, he said "Well, so...tell me about yourself", again (not kidding), like he hadn't asked that over an hour ago and by this time the guys were not even pretending they didn't care. I got up and said that if they needed any more info, they could contact me...when they walked me out a back door (not the front), I turned, shook the main guy's hand and said "I don't have a shot in hell of getting this job, do I?". He mumbled that they would get in touch with me. Yeah...I was only interviewed because they had to have a certain number of women applicants, and they were using me on the Friday so they didn't have to actually work. Never, EVER schedule an interview on a Friday afternoon...LOL!
It helps if you are under 40. You walk in and look like someone’s mom, immediate disadvantage, the glaze that comes over the interviewer’s face is solid. You can almost read their mind “damn she’s too old, I just have to get through this interview” then they get this typical judgey stance to the rest of the interview. Reality, they know you can run circles around everyone else and will make the rest of your hires look like slackers and won’t be kissing ass and just wants to work and go home, so she’s not enough of a game player! Agests!
You are so cute, you talk a minute explaining stuff that is basic, obvious knowledge about what job interviews are. If anyone watching this videos learns something from it, they should probably just forget looking for job at all if they didn’t even know this
Another good tip is getting to the point. Spending the first 10 seconds of a short saying nothing hardly respects anyones time, and reminds me of people trying to sell scams. It would be wise not to make this a habit.

I'm not sure this is always true. Yes for some jobs but just as many are going to peel apart your CV and want examples and explanations for everything and if it doesn't line up exactly with what they want that would pose an issue.
Pray about it too! If God wants you to get that job, you’ll get it. Prepare for the interview too though, and study up on what you need. And if you don’t get the job, it was in your best interest. Who knows? Maybe if you got that job your life would end up very miserable!
Need help - What to do when an employer asks weird questions like recently i went to an interview the employer was a friend of my old employer i left the job cause my boss asked me to pretend to be his wife to call the bank cause she and him live in different city also the whole team was just men with me alone women (they were trying to flirt and the workplace wasn't professional with low pay) He basically kept asking me why you left the job even when i answered i wanted to get further education for my job then he said oh then you should go back and work there he is a nice person 2x when i said my answer he said oh why not whats wrong with working with men? it pissed the fuck out of me cause I didn't know how to answer in a situation (They gave me task to complete send it at night and told me to give it my 5 in the evening by tomorrow 4 designs and 2 videos to edit i sent it they didn't reply ghost me when i called and asked if i can get a review they said they are still going though and will reply no nothing)
A teacher comes in and says “I’m here to solve your problems.” That’s the fastest way to end up as a FT subject, supply, and shadow teacher all in one go while getting under paid in every position and getting LESS than zero thanks in positions in that are already thankless and difficult to do 1. Great idea, just don’t agree it’s for every industry though.
I'm in charge of hiring at my successful firm and I wouldn't personally hire anyone who replies with very fake sounding replies like these. It's just personal though and some of my friends will.
@@AdviceWithErin I think he’s trying to say don’t oversell yourself in the interview. If you come into the job with a puffed out chest and then don’t deliver it makes not only you look bad but also the interviewer look bad. It’s better to get the position on realistic expectations and then show your ingenuity and creativity once you see what the position truly is and what you will be asked to do. Under delivery is far worse in any company than teaching the person what is needed of them.
@@janscutter Makes sense. I don't think she is advising us to lie or oversell ourselves at the interview, just present ourselves realistically. Most people undervalue themselves and what they can offer a job (skills) or don't know what to say at times. She's saying present yourself as a positive person who can do the job, or "solve their problem" of an empty position they need to fill. The reality is that you can't show them your ingenuity or creativity if you don't get the job (nor pay your bills).
NOPE! Most "Jobs" do NOT want ANY original thinking. They want things done in accordance with their SOP (Standard Operating Procedure). They will tell you to your face that people, far smarter than you, have already figured everything out. So what they are looking for is someone to follow the SOP' s in a time efficient manner.

How do you have all this knowledge? What qualifications do you have?
What filter do you use?
Wow sherlock
Yeah but i once went for an interview where they very honestly admitted that they didn't read my cv and if i could tell them about it😅😅😅😅😅
Yup...I will always remember that classic interview I went to on a Friday afternoon (never schedule an interview on a Friday afternoon) for a tech position. Never, EVER schedule an interview on a Friday afternoon...LOL!
how do you get interviews?
Ninja
How do you ask why the position is only for 12 weeks at and interview?
Just ask?
It helps if you are under 40. You walk in and look like someone’s mom, immediate disadvantage, the glaze that comes over the interviewer’s face is solid. You can almost read their mind “damn she’s too old, I just have to get through this interview” then they get this typical judgey stance to the rest of the interview. Reality, they know you can run circles around everyone else and will make the rest of your hires look like slackers and won’t be kissing ass and just wants to work and go home, so she’s not enough of a game player! Agests!
Bruh I’m going on my third interview with ymca I kinda don’t want it anymore …. Like how can you loose my application twice idk ../
You are so cute, you talk a minute explaining stuff that is basic, obvious knowledge about what job interviews are. If anyone watching this videos learns something from it, they should probably just forget looking for job at all if they didn’t even know this
Jokes on you, many cant make it to the job interview
und ich sitze hier mit dem Wissen, dass ich nie "attitude" hatte oder haben werde
Another good tip is getting to the point. Spending the first 10 seconds of a short saying nothing hardly respects anyones time, and reminds me of people trying to sell scams. It would be wise not to make this a habit.

Great advice here! Thanks ❤

Great video. But if you do want a job "in tech", do not say "I know a software for that."
She must get hired for every job she’s amazing at it ❤
I'm not sure this is always true.
Need help - What to do when an employer asks weird questions like recently i went to an interview the employer was a friend of my old employer i left the job cause my boss asked me to pretend to be his wife to call the bank cause she and him live in different city also the whole team was just men with me alone women (they were trying to flirt and the workplace wasn't professional with low pay)
He basically kept asking me why you left the job even when i answered i wanted to get further education for my job then he said oh then you should go back and work there he is a nice person 2x when i said my answer he said oh why not whats wrong with working with men? it pissed the fuck out of me cause I didn't know how to answer in a situation (They gave me task to complete send it at night and told me to give it my 5 in the evening by tomorrow 4 designs and 2 videos to edit i sent it they didn't reply ghost me when i called and asked if i can get a review they said they are still going though and will reply no nothing)
It was an internship for graphic design and he also gave my no. To someone without asking me!?
😂you always share a lot of videos of job interviews but how much do you earn from you own job?
A teacher comes in and says “I’m here to solve your problems.” That’s the fastest way to end up as a FT subject, supply, and shadow teacher all in one go while getting under paid in every position and getting LESS than zero thanks in positions in that are already thankless and difficult to do 1.
Great idea, just don’t agree it’s for every industry though.
I'm in charge of hiring at my successful firm and I wouldn't personally hire anyone who replies with very fake sounding replies like these. It's just personal though and some of my friends will.
I’ve read this comment a few times and have no clue what you’re trying to say
@@AdviceWithErin I think he’s trying to say don’t oversell yourself in the interview. If you come into the job with a puffed out chest and then don’t deliver it makes not only you look bad but also the interviewer look bad. It’s better to get the position on realistic expectations and then show your ingenuity and creativity once you see what the position truly is and what you will be asked to do.
Under delivery is far worse in any company than teaching the person what is needed of them.
@@JadeAkelaONeal i see you’ve been watching a ton of my videos and leaving negative comments. You ok?
@@janscutter Makes sense. I don't think she is advising us to lie or oversell ourselves at the interview, just present ourselves realistically. Most people undervalue themselves and what they can offer a job (skills) or don't know what to say at times. She's saying present yourself as a positive person who can do the job, or "solve their problem" of an empty position they need to fill. The reality is that you can't show them your ingenuity or creativity if you don't get the job (nor pay your bills).
I wonder if her employers know she makes this.
I'm sure she is a freelancer by now.
It's I'm a woman, and I fill a special spot for demographics.

You're hilarious telling people that resumes count at Chipotle. That's more crap than what will fall out of you after eating Chipotle!
I'm trans
😂I be lying if I really say those because all interviews and job I went for are boring as hell and non chanllenging
Also don't talk like a robot

Why people make this stuff? If I qualified hire me if I’m not don’t. Please stop with all this bs I’m begging you if you are a hr stop with these social dances
