    I didn’t see this compilation until after but I had an interview today and watching your videos helped me feel really confident and prepared! So glad you make these and it’s such valuable knowledge for those of us who were never taught or mentored on the subject and might feel to shy or embarrassed to ask or do it with someone we know now as adults.

    I am absolutely addicted to these videos and have been sharing them with colleagues and clients EVERYWHERE! Finally some practical, relatable, and simple advice for job seekers and company's who are hiring. It's nice to know whats happening on both sides of the table and your messaging is suitable for both!

    Do you offer job interview coaching at all? Honestly, your advice/strategies have been the best I've come across online and as I'm sure you know there is a plethora of advice out there for jobseekers.

    I feel that this whole thing about interviewing is a lot about lying and really not presenting a good portrait of who you really are, and this goes both ways unfortunately them and you.

    Hi Erin, how would you talk about a job that you left on bad terms with? I've only had one job experience relative to my current field but I had to leave with no notice.

    • @amariahg5450
      @amariahg5450 11 месяцев назад

      Well I'm not Erin but had an experience with this so figured I'd share. I left a company after they basically wanted me to work 2 jobs for one salary and wanted me, fresh out of school, to develop new "innovative" processes and systems for my department. I was overworked and very undervalued, and had a manager that micromanaged me without actually trying to help me learn new skills and progress in the company. When I was looking for a new job some interviewers asked me about this, I responded with the following:
      "My previous company was in the growing pains of moving from a startup to a full corporation, and I did not feel that I was supported in my role and given the resources I needed to meet expectations as the role expanded. I am looking for more stability and support from management when issues arise so that I can effectively handle new projects or implement changes to streamline processes as needs arise."
      Alternatively with my most recent job where I was looking to work in a different sector:
      "My previous company was heavily involved in x side of the industry, and I have found that I want to move more into the y side of the industry and expand my skillset."
      Basically DON'T disparage your previous company, just give a good reason for why you're looking for something new while also demonstrating that you know what the root cause was and you know how to overcome it or what would be more beneficial in the future. Show that you can recognize an issue and also identify the solution(s). Recruiters like problem solvers. Also NEVER say that you got fired if that was the case! Hope this helps!
