  • MR Factory, a high-end production studio based in Madrid, explains how they can make an entire film in-house using just a green screen, a virtual studio engine from Brainstorm, and live 3D backgrounds from Unreal Engine. Besides saving time, this virtual production setup fosters creativity and opens up new possibilities for filmmakers.

    unreal engine is going leaps and bounds with its integration for real time movie production. With UE5 out now and its new Nanite technology to eliminate the polycount issues is a game changer yet again.

    This is amazing! It's the state I expected virtual production to be in 2019.
    Obviously, that is much better than what James Cameron had back in the day for Avatar. Surely they will have something as good as this on the next films..?

      If they don't have effects way better than this after 10 years of production, then you know that they spent all the money on coke. These effects are fine but you can still see composition and tracking artifacts throughout the demo.

    how did the reflection achieve?

    • @Potatinized
      @Potatinized 6 лет назад +12

      using reflective greenscreen. That's why the characters didn't block off some of the "cg lighting". The result of the real reflection overlapping with the cg reflection really bugs me.

      @@Potatinized they plan it before production I guess, we usually doesn't use that kinda greenscreen floor, really nice choice

    based on the quality of green screens..im a compositor for a decade now..but this clean green screens is rare very rare!!!!! and even lighting is very difficult to maintain!!!! how would it deal with motion blurs?? and hair details!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Really, interesting I use StartTracker from Mo sys before, Is great for preview with Unreal specially with quick results and etc, down side is to get all the information for VFX work in different packages and for compositing in Nuke without loose the accurate results from the camera track , lens info and etc. to add with the raw camera date such RED, ARRI or BMC I hope they resolve this problem which I guess ye sthen can be a really good tool.

    This is the end of storytelling and the start of real cheap entertainment. I see the possibilities but the last Netflix-Films I saw were absolute crap compared to the films released ten years ago. This development leads to boring stuff where the story and the actors will become superfluous one day.
