The channel is so interesting, hope you continue to make these despite the weird RUclips algorithm. Makes it alot easier for us foreigners to learn about Japan. Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇯🇵

I remember even as a kid thinking the blood did not make a big difference in Mortal Kombat. I would enter the code more because it was a code than anything else.

The biggest problem for Sega during the 90s was retailers. Sega was the only major gaming company at the time that was subjected to some of the harshest treatments when it came to selling their products. two examples I can come up with was that had to gaurentee large quantities of stock in both hardware and software no matter; and if that weren't enough, Sega was also mandated by these retailers(Walmart and Target specifically) to buy back all remaining unsold stock in their stores after a certain period of time. These rules were never applied to Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft due to their heavy revenue influence! So Sega's financial troubles actually began before theDreamcast, Saturn; heck, even before the 32X could take any blame for Sega's financial woes at that point!

This is really interesting. Why do you think that was? Because they were the smallest player?

@@konichivalue This was partly because before Sega re-launched the Genesis in North America in 1991, Nintendo and their 3rd party partners at the time during the 80s and early 90s had already accounted for 25% of these retailers total revenue at the time. Most of that was due in part to Nintendo marketing the NES as a toy; rather than a home video game console when they bundled it with ROB the robot and the zapper.
The video I think best explains how everything went wrong for Sega would be what I'm about to write down for you to check out: "Tom Kalinske was fired from SEGA? New insights from Shoichiro Irimajiri reveal what happened to Sega". Highly recommend you give it a look. 19 minutes and 41 seconds long, but it's worth a watch imo.

Sonic 1 the movie was actually painful for me to watch. I suffered through it until the end to give the movie a chance. I actually played Sonic 1 when it was new. So I have a strong connection to the series. I have not rewatched the movie or watched the sequels because of my horrible experience with the first movie.

Japan should make out lost time not by relying on these games but to break away from its comfort zone. Look how the Koreans and Chinese dominates gaming. We are expecting Japan to do the same, BUT NO. How many international gaming competitions involving Japan? None.
So sorry to say this but consoles is now a thing of the past. In the 2000s, how many Sega Worlds have closed their doors? What I'm talking about is before the Genda acquisition.
